Modest size store with not a huge variety. Smaller parking lot, but good location. Cashier was nice.

Even though they have improved their rack organization lately, this particular Marshalls is still just "meh" by Marshalls standards. This store tends to have less interesting items than some of their sister stores. Items are pretty basic, nothing exciting. Better selection in women's larger sizes (10-14). Shoe selection is a minimum. As with other Marshalls stores, many items are mis-tagged for size, or on the wrong rack entirely. Always check items for damage, as all Marshalls tend to have shop-worn items. There usually is easy parking. Dressing rooms have doors, and one mirror, and are O.K. for a brief visits. If you have the time, head over to the La Jolla Marshalls for a much more interesting selection and a really terrific shoe section. read more

I love a bargain. Bargains on clothes, home goods, and salon products can all be found at Marshalls. I can usually find a a cute top, maybe a dress or two, and hostess gifts. However I never find anything at this location. The lay out here compared to every other Marshall's is different. I can't put my finger on why I dislike it so much, but I do. I hate it. Everything about it. They don't carry my size shoe at this location (11), the lines seem to be ever long, the lighting is harsh, and parking is a zoo. Skip this location and find any other Marshalls to get your bargain hunting on. read more

I eyed a parking space from off the street while I was stuck in line trying to make a right turn into the parking lot. The traffic is always bad trying to get in out of the parking lot next to Marshalls because it also is in the same shopping center next to the rebuilt Target and the Home Depot. I'm not one those people that has to park exactly in front of the store so I don't mind parking far away and walking (I swear us Californians forget that we have legs.) A mother with three screaming children were just exiting the store as I was entering. I praised the powers that be for that, but then I got irritated because I got stuck behind some woman entering the store that was looking up at the ceiling like she'd never seen a store before. The thing about Marshalls is that you have to shop really hard and try on everything. I managed to find two pairs of designer jeans that fit like buttah for only $25.00! As I was standing in line to pay, the gentleman that was in the front of the line starting dancing to the Natasha Bedingfield/Vanessa Carlton-like chick music that was playing on the speakers. The line started to laugh and then he shrugged and said, "Hey, we only got one life might as well enjoy it. Hey, it's my first time in here." This location is smaller than most but you can still find some great items depending on what you're looking for. I lucked out with fitness clothes but the bf didn't find anything. Usually, I find the merchandise for men is better but it wasn't the case at this location (at least on the day I went). The store itself is pretty clean and the people working there were nice. One guy who was organizing shoes greeted everyone and seemed know the regulars by name which was cool. I didn't have time to check out the home and food section but I'll be back to see what their selection is like in those areas! read more

I was over in the area picking something up and decided to stop at this Marshall's since I had never been here and who doesn't love a good Marshall's! I kid you not this place seems so small from the outside but it is so amazingly clean and organized that it felt huge! I walked in and was immediately shocked in awe how organized and in place the entire store was. I initially came for kids stuff but the hair are and beauty and gift area were soooooo amazingly neat and organized I felt like I was in a different store! No picking around or having to search deep for a good deal because this entire store was perfect! I was sooooooooo soooo beyond amazed I immediately complimented Michelle I hope her name was.. she was so humbled and thrilled that my first time was so spectacular. Not many would understand this excitement lol but it was so clean and organized I wanted and should've taken pictures! Michelle was happy to hear my feedback and told her team! You honestly could see the workers throughout the store doing their jobs well and making sure each department was in order!!! I can't wait to be back at this store. I live in East County and will never want to go to a Marshall's over here! If Michelle is the manger this is a manager who needs a promotion who not only should be running her own store but training these employees how to have the customer service she did and the drive to do their job well! read more

Good size Marshalls & isn't over crowded like other locations. Their shoe selection I noticed is also bigger than most stores. This Marshalls is also located in a plaza with Target & Home Depot, so you can get all of your shopping done in one place! read more

I flew in here last night for like the 2nd time in my life just to see if I could grab a top really quickly for a date I had in like 2 hours. This place is surprisingly small The fitting rooms do pretty much suck. And even the selection is surprisingly bad. Glad to scoop up a pair of Juicy sweatpants for $40 just so I could continue shopping on a rainy night and not have to wear my work clothes lol. read more

Love exploring Marshall! Have been looking for over the door hangers at Bed, Bath & Beyond, Target Ace and Home Depot but couldn't find the right size. Ha! Surprised! Marshall has 2 different styles! Even though neither works in the end due to other unique feature of our door, but at least Marshall offers various widths. Meh. I found a couple of tops here, but would probably come back for the pants and jeans selection as it was better than other Marhsalls I've been to. I didn't have a lot of time, just needed a few work tops. The shoe section isn't bad either, I can hardly find decent shoes in my size at any Marshalls, TJMaxx, or Ross (I'm a 6 1/2-7), but this one had a better and more comfortable selection. The store remained clean and the fitting rooms weren't too busy. (I went on a Saturday.) The styles for tops are definitely a few seasons (decades) past, but I was able to find a couple blouses after a first round of utter failure that were more neutral and timeless. read more

Even though they say on their door "Think Department Store at Lower Prices" or something like that DON'T BELIEVE IT OR THEIR COMMERCIALS for this store. According to their store manger they are "JUST A DISCOUNT STORE THAT SALES PRODUCTS AND DO NOT DEAL WITH THE MANUFACTURERS" Be aware if you buy a product there and it breaks during its first use. Do not think that just because is it a a week or two later at most and have receipt you can return it YOU CANT. What you can get however is waiting approx. 20 min for 4 people (3 people & 1 Store Manager (Denver)) to decide you deserve the magnanimous amount of less then 50% of what you paid for and @ 40% less then current items carried in the section because after all it's just a discount store. According to my experience today after shopping there for @ 8 years and spending thousands of dollars and using their credit card you are lucky to purchase items that don't break because ITS JUST A DISCOUNT STORE! read more

I'm a big fan of this particular Marshalls. We always seem to find everything we need and more. They have a good selection of shoes, purses, and women's clothes from what I've found. I've never had any issues with cashiers or workers here and the lines are never too long. You do have to dig for the good deals, but if you have the time it's totally worth it! read more

I mainly hit up this Marshalls for good bargains on threads for my mini me. I can count on one hand how many items I've found for myself here that I enjoyed. But their infants/toddler section is pretty good. It also helps that it's in the hood of my jobby job, so I run over here (ok, speed over here) during my lunch hour to browse. I honestly find better bargains for myself at the store in front of this one. You know...the one with the bulls-eye on it. *winks* But yeah. As with any Marshalls/TJ Maxx/Ross type of place, be prepared to dig...And dig for any bargains. But from my findings, it's been worth it. This Marshalls is definitely a step up from the Mira Mesa and Carmel Mountain stores. It's cleaner and much better organized. I also come here to buy purses, as it's got more than the other stores. read more

This place is great if you want to rummage through aisles and racks of items...though when you do...you might just find a great deal! This store isn't the cleanest Marshall's I have ever been too...stuff was kind of just everywhere. The staff were ok...were busy talking to each other more than helping customers purchase their goods. This isn't the closest store to my home, but was in the area and decided to check it out. I love me a discount, hence, my affinity for TJ Maxx & Marshall's. This Marshall's is in the middle of the pack for me but is in the process of a remodel so the face lift is definitely a plus as this was an older location. The parking is pretty limited, especially on the weekends so that is the only drawback. I look forward to seeing how the remodel turns out. read more

I usually have a decent experience when I shop at this department store, this particular location shocks me with their lack of customer service. The greeter with shoulder length grey hair and glasses is the rudest individual I've ever met, I asked her if I could place my return item on their counter because I wanted to browse the store without having to hold into it the whole time and she said (in the rudest voice ), "no it's okay if you take it with you" I continued and said that I'd rather leave it at the counter considering I am returning the item to swap it with a smaller size, she continued to speak to me as if I were a five year old who did not comprehend what she was saying. I was fed up at this point yet she continued with her rant. Later when I spoke to the cashier about this woman she showed no concern no appeared to care one bit about my bad experience. It's one thing for you to have a bad day, and it's another to hate your job; if you hate your job so much lady then spare us all from your negativity! Who's bright idea was it to put Mrs. Negative Nancy as the store greeter anyway!? Save your trip people the La Jolla location is better! read more

I just went to this Marshalls and it was o.k. until I went to the casher. This old blond lady hit casher number 2 so here I come to number 2 but all of sudden she left! ???? Why??? No words no nothing. I understand if she had to go to a break or she had to take care of something, she could say ''I'm sorry,I have to take care of other customer''or something ... but she said nothing! So I had to go back to the line. I told what just happened to the other casher but she acted like she didn't know what to do and said nothing to me. Really????? Come to this location only if you are extremely DEAF - otherwise their REALLY LOUD ("background") MUSIC is intolerable. I've previously enjoyed coming here to browse, see what's new, and (usually) make some purchases. Unfortunately, over the past several months they've cranked up their "background" music so loud that it is uncomfortable to even be in the store -- I come in hoping for the best, try to look at their merchandise a bit, but am quickly forced to exit due to the loud-to-the-point-of-distraction music. I can only guess that their current manager is hard of hearing -- or spends no time on the sales floor. I love Marshalls. You can find some nice things at bargain prices there. Unfortunately not all locations are created equal. While the Solana Beach store consistently offers great service - the Clairemont store is just bad. I gave it a chance 3 times, and two times out of three I left with a completely ruined mood. Today was definitely the last time I went there. I brought a timely return which appeared to be mislabeled at the time of purchase (should we check all the items against the attached labels every time we shop??). The cashier could not resolve the problem and asked the "coordinator", EDEN, to help. Eden was not helpful at all. The way she approached the issue made me feel like I was being accused of fraud. When I tried to reason with her, Eden interrupted me and said "Let's not get loud here!" She was defensive, arrogant and condescending. What a "great" role model for the employee standing by! Let's face it - not all people are ready for their supervisory positions. And sadly, not all stores are worth returning to. read more

So this is the place where people go that like to pretend that they have money to buy designer clothes/purses. They have a lot of name brands that you wouldn't think,mostly from the year 2001 unfortunately. Went to buy sheets and comforters, pretty good price for name brands and the 600 thread counts doesn't hurt either. Other than bedding I don't think I'd buy anything else. I saw a few clothing items there worth buying but you have to sift through the picked over things. I even saw Air Jordan tennis shoes for babies, classy. It's an ok store for purchases and I'm sure you see a lot of their clothing worn at the gaslamp by people pretending they paid $700 for sunglasses when actually they were $50 at Marshalls. I'd go there again,hey who am I to judge especially when you can buy a king size Ralph Lauren comforter for only $80.Remember to look for the stuff that hasn't been picked over. read more

I've shopped here many time however I'll never shop there again. The manager Kathryn was disrespectful and attempted to embarrass me for failing to bring a receipt. I purchased a pair of shoes and wore them once. I explained to her that they were too small and I just wanted to exchange. After explaining my situation, she raised her continued to belittle me but saying the following, "Donate the shoes.... I've already explained myself.... I'm not going to argue because I've already made my decision." Once I realized she wasn't going to hear me out I asked for the manager. She initially said she didn't know the number. When I asked why she didn't now the number she said she had just returned from medical leave. Another manager provided me with the number and apologized for but Kathryn did not. She continued to raise her voice and make me feel restate that her decision was made and I would need to donate my shoes. I asked for the store manager but was told she was on a call. I called the office but was the manager was unavailable. I am very hurt and upset. I truly hope she will not be able to assist customers without additional training (customer service, diversity trading, public speaking; and anger management). read more

So I bought a pair of shorts at marshals and they ended up too small. I still have all the receipts and tags, but when I took them back they had a stain. Mind you I haven't been able to wear the shorts because they are too small, because they were LABELED WRONG IN THE WRONG SECTION!! So there is no way on this green earth that the stain the manager found was from me. The manager on duty at 1pm on this day ACCUSED my girlfriend of being a liar and claimed we were trying to return used clothes!! Are u kidding me?? The store manager looked her in the eye, receipt in hand and called her a liar. We weren't trying to return more than one item and they treated her like some tweaker trying to get meth money. Are u kidding me? A marshals store manager has the audacity to treat my girlfriend with such disrespect and ilk?? Straight up fail in customer service. I cannot explain the furry I feel right now, I was at home watching our newborn baby or I would have had a long talk with their manager. As it is their customer service is shoddy at best, with employees so miserable and complacent that it seems any legit concern or question about merchandise on the store floor is met with skepticism and hostility. There are PLENTY of stores in the area that have great deals AND expect their employees AND managers to treat other HUMANS with respect when they happen to be shopping in their store. Right down the street in clairmont square there are some shops with good deals and nice employees. And managers who don't embarrass themselves over a ten dollar pair of shorts. This store must be really hurtin. And the manger just let it show! Who wants goods from a sinking ship and an evil captain!! NO ONE! Please save yourself the headache and try TJ MAX or Burlington coat factory at the square. I will never spend another dime on a Marshall's sales floor and neither should you! read more
