Went on a Saturday night for dinner with my husband and 4-yr old. Loved it. We ordered the spinach salad, which comes with grilled chicken, and the King size prime rib. My daughter had mac and cheese. The salad was delicious, with mandarin oranges and fresh sliced strawberries, almonds and a tangy vinaigrette. The mac and cheese was delicious. Baked. Not a huge bowl of orange Kraft mac and cheese for $6, which we have been served in many other places. The prime rib was huge!!! And came with a yorkshire pudding (not as good as my own homemade but then again what is?), baked potato and nicely sauteed veggies. After an incredibly delicious strawberry shortcake + vanilla ice cream to share for dessert (more than the three of us could finish!), we left feeling stuffed and carrying leftovers after paying the $45 bill. NO COMPLAINTS whatsoever! The service was friendly, accurate and fast. Almost too fast. I get the feeling they turn over tables quickly because their dining area is rather small and it does fill up. But NO ONE rushed us and we had a lovely dinner. We are spending the year on Cape Cod and we have been to very few restaurants where we feel we got a great meal for the price. I stopped by on a busy Saturday night and had a different experience from the other reviewers. I was seated promptly at a clean table and was given a roll and muffin wedge. Both were delicious. Granted, I only got a bacon cheese burger but it was pretty damn good. Perfectly cooked to medium rare. The fries were hot and crispy too. My waitress (Jill?) was friendly and attentive, but not overly so (actually letting me get a few bites in before asking how my dinner was). No complaints from me. And I overheard comments from other departing customers (trio of bikers) saying they enjoyed their food. How often do you hear guys on motorcycles discussing the merits of their dinners? I will have to come back and try some of the fancier dinner specials. They sounded good. I was just in the mood for a burger. read more

Visited Plymouth for a getaway with friends to celebrate 40th birthdays. Everyone was craving lobster salad so we gave Marshland a shot. We were not disappointed. The Cobb Salad w/ Lobster salad was enough for 2 people to share. I don't recommend the House Dressing as it's a garlic/cream base although it is fantastic. Lobster salad rolls were the best I've had in a while. Great taste w/o a ton of mayonnaise. Keep it up! read more

A real local gem. It's hard not to keep returning (and looking forward to the next time). Great food, service was really better than could be expected. Comfort food, pie, some fried seafood and the price is really hard to believe. They do good business, very easy to get to. Did I mention pie? Really good pie. You need pie. Yes, you. What really blew me away is the fact a $10 "appetizer" list plate of fish tacos were impressive enough to talk about and bigger than I expected. The "diner" atmosphere is charming. The real challenge is ordering something and then having room for pie. Had a bad day? Not feeling awesome? Rain and snow? Something got you down? Are you happy just the same? Doesn't matter. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, we were sat within ten minutes of walking in. The only downside is our waitress would be quick to walk away when we weren't done asking her questions, for example when we asked for coffee she immediately went to go get it, but left too quickly as we wanted other things as well with it. This place is truly a gem though, wonderful food and I understand the wait staff are going a thousand miles an hour trying to serve their tables, but a few extra seconds prevents another trip or more work on their end. We have tried to like Marshland because it is convenient. BUT the food is never really good. Every few months we try again because so many people like it, it seems. A few days ago we went in at 6:30 and was told roast beef was one of the specials. We ordered drinks, soup, and dinner. After our drinks came (mine was returned 3 times for flat tonic water), we were told they were out of roast beef. Our salads came and we had to remind the wait staff that soup had not come out yet. The ceasar salads were warm. WE ordered shepherds pie that was so bad I could only pick thru it. I ordered dessert (grapenut custard) that was mostly a 1 inch crust of grapenuts with a small amount of custard. This TIME we are not ever going back to give the nice staff another try. Wonder if this is why the sister restaurant in Sandwich closed. read more

Odd dusting of spice on top of the hollandaise. This place also does something I truly hate... Charge for maple syrup. It's BS. Places need to adjust the prices across the board and just offer real maple syrup.. Period. If, there's anyone out there that actual likes this place, please... Breakfast was delicious and fair priced. My husband filled up (which is saying something) with the #5 breakfast plate. We just had simple eggs, toast, pancakes, home fries and linguica, but it was phenomenal. The seasoning on the home fries was particularly good. Overall, okay. My daughter and I were thrilled to be back in the area and I decided to oblige her craving in going out for a lobster roll in spike of the long drive. The resturant was well seated and busy, and I took note of the "help wanted" sign in the window. The lobster roll was what my daughter had hoped for. Buttered warm roll and over filled with cool and creamy lobster salad. The fries were hot and crispy. I ordered the lobster bisque as a starter and while it was nothing really special flavor wise, there were many chunks of lobster meat in the soup. I have a confession to make. I REALLY like liver and onions. I mean REALLY LIKE it. And my family doesn't. They don't even like for me to cook it at home since they find the smell unpleasant, so I don't get the chance to have it very often and tend to order it when I am out. I ordered liver and onions with double mashed potatoes. The waitress returned to ask how I would like it done, and I requested medium. The potatoes looked like they were just flung onto the plate and they arrived with two pieces of medium fried liver, two pieces of bacon, and some fried onions. No gravy. None on the liver. None on the mashed potatoes. I then requested some which arrived on the side and did not look appetizing at all, containing peas and chunks of carrot. I did dip a few bite fulls into it but decided it didn't add anything to the flavor of the meal. Yes. I finished it. I was hungry. It was okay. And I did not want to wait for another meal to be prepared, especially since things were picking up and we had some lovely high spirited young children that were enjoying themselves seated next to us. We were asked by the server once, immediately after our food arrived, if it was good which is when I asked for gravy. We were not offered or given a drink refill. It was an additional half hour after we had completed our meal that she checked on us again. At that time I was just ready to leave and enjoy a beverage outside of the resturant. I am planning on returning in the near future for breakfast, I love me some good breakfast, and sincerely hope that breakfast is better. read more

Attempting to mix our local dining pattern up a little bit we travelled a few miles down the road to Marshlands for the first time. We went around 7:45 as they seemed to be winding down from the dinner rush and were seated in their tiny dining space promptly. It was a little bit warm and stuffy, not totally their fault, I'll pass some of the blame off on the 95 degree heat. We ordered a few drinks, beers automatically brought with glasses. The bread and muffins were eh. They could've been a little warmer and tasted a little bit stale. They looked like the leftovers tossed into a basket. Onion rings as an app were perfect. Served very hot and brought out quickly. Entrees were timed well and the portion sizes were great. The clam strip plate was massive, whole clam roll came with a decent amount and the burger melt was large also. The fish and chips weren't bad but I prefer a whole fillet not the nuggets of fish they used. Cole slaw was a little warm and fries were a little limp. All-in-all service was great, low key but available. The food was meh and I expected a little bit more since their prices are a little bit higher than places like Monte Christos up the street. Seems like a lot of these reviews are biased based on long time sweet lemons customers. The reason Marshland does so well is obvious. cheap, friendly, comfortable atmosphere, unbelievable comfort food, and huge portions. Between me and my girlfriend we ordered a bowl of fruit and a gigantic stuffed quohog, then homemade mac n cheese piping hot with fried fish and the biggest breakfast combo on the menu for a whopping 30 bucks (sarcasm). I turned my father onto this joint and he loves it too now. And thanks to my buddy George from sandwich, I found my go-to restaurant anytime I need a good quick meal. read more

The place needs a little updating on the building but it is such a cute local place that it doesn't matter so much. One other thing to be aware of is that they do not take Discover credit cards. I gave this place three stars because the first time I went it was excellent. I went last month with my fiancé, cannot day the same. The whole ordeal took 1:45 minutes, the waitress didn't even look at us and was too busy gossiping. When our appetizer finally came out the eggplant looked and tasted really processed and frozen. I'd be very surprised if it's made in-house. I got pork chops which took a while and we're over cooked and my mash potatoes broke, they were soupy and more like grits than mashed. I was disappointing in Marshland 3A after hearing such great things about the Sandwich, MA locations. The biggest disappointment was their supposed "famous" stuffed clams which have been on the Food Network. They were big but, they were 90% breading and very bland. It took me until I was at the shell to finally find a piece of chopped clam! The food was not nowhere near the quality that the previous restaurant (Sweet Lemons) had. If you are on Manomet just go to Monte Christos for a better meal. read more

This is the second time my girlfriend and I had visited Marshlands 3A. Both times we were very disappointed. First off, it was in the low 60's temperature outside on a wonderful sunny and dry day, but inside it was hot and stuffy, as it was the first time we ate there. The service was extremely slow from ordering to actually receiving our breakfasts. The food is very mediocre. There is a huge inconsistency in how the food is cooked or not cooked. The man next to us at the counter had to send his scrambled eggs back because they were not completely cooked and runny. My pancakes were mushy and somewhat underdone in the middle. My girlfriend's "grilled" bagel was greasy and tasted like everything else that has been cooked on the grill. It was not crisp and grilled, just hot and greasy. Last time we were there the food was just average, which we thought was because they had just opened at that time. Months later all is still underwhelming. There are mush better places for breakfast. How this place gets good reviews is beyond me. We will not be going back. We miss Sweet Lemons that had previously been at this location. Maybe they were not as polished, but we never had a bad meal at Sweet Lemons. read more

When we asked about the breakfast order, the gossiping waitress ambled back and said, "they just came up!" The eggs were almost solid and the refresh on the coffee was again cold. Please save your money. This place is terrible. I heard 2 very bad reviews on their overpriced dinners (which are NOT homemade as they claim and have absolutely no flavor) but decided to go anyway with a group of friends to celebrate a special occasion with an ice cream. I figured how bad could it be? It was bad. If ice cream can be bad, than it is at Marshlands. First off, the girls working there are idiots but that's not even the big issue. They screwed up my sundae (again this didn't bother me and I didn't mind waiting for it to be fixed) but then when I dug in I found the brownie rock hard and the ice cream was freezer burned and iced through out. To top it off, they put maybe 1 teaspoon of topping on the sundae. It was so disappointing and really the worst ice cream I have ever had. The whole experienced sucked from the people to the ice cream. It became clear to me after eating here myself (even if it was just the ice cream) and hearing the other reviews from my friends that this place is only out to make a quick buck. Their food is terrible and worse is the fact that they just don't care that they are ripping people off. I notice that less and less cars on in the lot and hopefully the winter will come and shut them down completely. Save your money and get your ice cream and your dinner somewhere else. read more

My parents went to your restaurant last night, and another guest came in from the parking lot to tell my folks that they had a flat tire. Before my mother even had a chance to call AAA, Jack appeared at their table. He'd overheard what had happened, and immediately offered to help them. While they ate dinner in the comfort of air conditioning, Jack was outside changing their tire. He refused any payment from them. What an incredible young man. And... My family stopped here for dinner the other night and everyone enjoyed their entrees. First this restaurant has a quaint atmosphere very down home. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. My son had a bacon cheeseburger which he raved about, hubby had a Cobb salad with house dressing (creamy garlic dressing) and I had the chicken cordon bleu which was very tasty. When we walked in the place smelled like sweat and urine but we stayed anyway because a friend had recommended and said they had great food. We ordered Texas chili, lobster bisque, soup du jour which was southwest pork, 2 homemade meatloaf, and a chicken cordon Bleu. The only thing that was good was the pork soup and chicken. The sides were awful, my husband said the meatloaf tasted like crab, and the chili was an overflowing crock of barely giant pieces of ground beef, tomatoes and cheese. And that smell was so bad! My previous review was a little better. I went yesterday for breakfast with my dad after not having been in a few weeks and was very disappointed. I'm hoping it was just an off day and not a sign of things happening. I was very surprised that there was not one other customer as there are usually a couple people during off season no matter what day we go. I had the short stack french toast and was surprised that no butter came with it and it was almost cold. My dad ordered oatmeal and although we know it is a packet I honestly believe this was the smallest portion of oatmeal he has ever received. He even said, I know this is a packet, but wow. I don't know if they usually make more than one packet as a portion, but it was barely worth the effort. He was so disappointed and told me to remind him if we ever go again that this is not a place for him to get oatmeal. I have to admit we did not complain - my father never complains in restaurants and tips as if he was happy. I believe he tipped almost 50% of the bill and I know that there is no way I would have left that much. Hopefully, the next time I go I can write a better review. read more
