Went here to meet up with some of my close girlfriends on a beautiful Sat morning, we got there at like 9:30am? So we decided to eat here, since one of my girlfriends had eaten here before and she suggested it for our breakfast meeting. We were a group of 5 plus 1 child, there was a wait for a table but took bout 20-25min long. They do have a free private lot next to the restaurant, however you can choose too park on the street too w the meter. I ordered the popular French toast w berries, as all the other Yelpers were recommending it. It was VERY good!! The OJ was freshly squeezed, which I love! The restaurant is very small and cute. I can only talk (in this case write, but you know what I mean) about breakfast, all I can say is I wish I had more of that dam French toast!!! If I were to die, I can see Saint Peter at the Golden gates with a plate full of this wonderful dish! Who in the hell thinks to cover french toast with corn flakes and deep fry the dam thing, what an F'en genius. To top it off, I can put down a pretty good portion of food and I couldn't kill this plate, 4 giant half slices of doughy goodness - "dishes are not done, man"! Service here was good, not great, but good, very friendly and very accommodating, as long as this dish is on the menu I'll be back again and again!!! My advise, try the french toast! read more

The French Toast is a must try! They're made with a corn flake crust that is to die for! The Eggs Benedict are great too. They're served with these amazing potatoes that tend to make you eat a bit more slowly so you can savor the flavor. They must have a never-ending supply of coffee that allows the waiters/waitresses to refill it every time they pass by. They're all walking around with full pots! The restaurant was cute and the wait isn't very long since the service there is pretty quick. Parking can be tricky, the lot is kind of tight...good for those with compact cars. read more

ok, so here's the tip on getting in here without waiting... on the day that you are up unusually early (say... 8am) go on down to Marston's and you won't have to wait in line - and there will be parking. Other than that, expect to wait a very very long time and good luck with parking! So you wonder, is it worth it? Sure, if you get up early enough. The food is a bit pricey, but considering the location (Pasadena), they are in that range to charge that much. I love the food, the ambiance - I really like it that it's a small place that looks like a house. I have to come to Marston's many times over the past few years for Brunch. I can't remember how many times or how often...but I can say that every time I have left full and satisfied. Also keep in mind there is always a wait..it can take longer if your party is pretty large, but usually only around 10-15 minutes. Trust me the food is worth the wait time. The Fantastic French Toast and Macadamia Nut Pancakes are incredible and the Florentine Benedict and Vegetarian Omelette are two of my personal favorites! read more

Meow is not a big fan of places where meow cannot get parking. When meow has to use whiskers to feel out for parking, meow gets a bit sad. Meow feels Marston's gives meow a hard time just for meow to eat. Meow feels service is pretty good here, wait is bearable. Meow feels like a lot of the menu revolves around omelet's, wish there were more choices. Food is okay here, meow feels like shooting meow's self in foot because food is nothing to write about, yet here meow is wasting meow's life by writing reviews. Had the 45 minute wait on the sidewalk preceded an excellent brunch I would have given 3 stars. It did not. The benedict had two small and overcooked eggs atop too-salty salmon, accompanied on the plate by over-zealously rustic potatoes. But the large OJ was actually large. read more

My favorite breakfast spot. French toast is amazing. Sitting is a bit cramped but food is outstanding. There is usually a line but it moves fairly quickly. I've ate at quite a few other great breakfast spots in so Cal and this is definitely underrated and low key. Not only does the food taste great but the presentation is impressive for the cost, which is not that much considering the portions are fairly large. Came here for breakfast with my family for my mom's birthday. Mom and I ordered a savory and sweet dish and swamped after finishing half. ^^You need both just to get a bit of variety. We ordered the SALMON BENEDICT, and the 7 GRAIN PANCAKES WITH FRUIT. A rare "middle of the road" rating from me! 2 1/2 stars, if we could give halves. Big V and I decided to check out the Cosmetics Expo. However, Sunday Brunch is a must, of course! I Yelp'd the nearest, bestest brunch location to our final destination...well, hello Marston's! We arrived around 2pm. The small parking lot was full. We circled the block several times until we found a newly vacated spot a block away...and fed the meter with the last few dimes, nickles, and lint we could find in the bottom of our bags. Yes, my darlings, even on God's day off, Pasadena parking police are hard at work.. There was no crowd, no wait. However, judging from the sign-in list, if we had gotten there earlier we would have really been waiting for a while. I wonder where those poor folk parked... We were immediately seated inside of the quaint little cottage (yea, I said quaint, FO). Of course, I ordered the 'bene! Big V was leaning toward some pancakes, until she saw our neighbor's entree. "I'll have what he's having!" Eggs Benedict with salmon and cottage cheese as a side. "Well, I'll have the potatoes instead of the cottage cheese", she decided.. It took a while to get them, but first to arrive were our weak mimosa's that had the biggest, sweetest strawberries floating inside. Some mix up between servers was the excuse for the delay. An equal lapse happened with our meals. But, when our entree's finally arrived we were both happy! A lovely hollandaise over nicely done eggs, and the potatoes were good. I've lived in the Pasadena area off and on for most of my life, driven by here a thousand times and seen the lines of people but never stopped in. So today, we decided to hop on in since there really wasn't much of a wait. I"ve heard good things, my wife said it was pretty good and yelpers vouched for this so I wandered in with high hopes. The way a place makes French Toast is always the benchmark by which I judge a breakfast place. Anyone can make pancakes and eggs but French Toast is more difficult. Corn Flake crusted French Toast started out promising. It's crushed up, making the toast crunchy. Crunchy is good, unfortunately I like a lot of butter and syrup on my French Toast and when you mix all three together it just gets soggy. Don't get me wrong, it was unique and it has it's charm but after 20 minutes the novelty had worn off and I was wishing for a regular order from Alcove or Home. Ended up leaving half the order on the plate. If you don't really like alot of syrup your results might be better. My wife ordered the Mandarin Orange Chicken Salad and really liked it. The side of bacon we ordered was fine, a little burnt (no problem) but nothing to write home about and I honestly won't remember it in a few days. Cheese Popper bread that comes out first was okay, it was mostly egg flavored and not much cheese flavor. Should call it Egg Popper bread but I guess that wouldn't make much sense. There are so many good breakfast places in the area, I can't see coming here often yet I can see why it has a big following. Its a lovely quaint place where you really cant go wrong at breakfast. Nice service and cozy atmosphere. Patio is great too! Mamosas are always welcomed and their orange juice is fresh. I recomment the blueberry pancakes- HUGE, thin, homemade and yummy They are famous for their corn flake french toast, which is worth every penny. Omlettes with fresh potatoes are also good. Cool little hidden gem. Found this place via yelp because I was looking for a brunch place to try out! They've got a pretty decent sized menu and have items such as corn flake covered toast, usually have some type of seafood/special sandwich, salads, and various omelets. I ordered some type of crab sandwich which was one of their daily specials and it was delicious! It had some type of mayo-based sauce with some greens. I'm not sure what was in their secret sauce but it was definitely tasty. My SO ordered a mushroom omelet. I felt like this dish was nothing special... but my sandwich on the other hand was great ;). Service was also good! They are very attentive to each diner despite the fact that they may sometimes be understaffed or running around like crazy. I came here for brunch with my boyfriend, and we were seated quickly which was nice, but I ordered the apple juice which had no flavor, then he got huevos rancheros which was basically a plate of black beans with some avocado, and an egg hidden inside somewhere that he didn't really enjoy, and I had the works French toast which was really hard to eat because it comes rolled in corn flakes so it's super crunchy and who wants crunchy French toast ? This is the place to be for breakfast in Pasadena. This is my go to spot when I have a craving for French Toast. It's amazing. The outside of the french toast is coated with corn flakes that give it a nice crunch. The wait can be a little long on the weekends but it's worth the wait. Unless you're starving or short on time. The pull pork benedict is an awesome dish to order too. The other item that I would recommend is the Andouille Omelet. Service is great and did I already mention that the food is great? =) See you there sometime my Yelpers. Eeeekkkk!! This place is so adorable. As you drive up to Marton's the restaurant basically looks like a cute little house with a blue awning in the front. It's a small and popular breakfast spot in Pasadena, so get there early....or else fear the wait. Mwahaha..anyways... The tables are turned rather quickly and they do a really good job at seating people promptly. The corn flake crusted French toast is what they're known for and who would've thunk?!?.....that's what I got and I would tell you to do the same! Still the same fluffy, sweet, and soft French toast you're use to...but just with a crunchy exterior! Have I mentioned how busy they get? Awesome place for breakfast! The restaurant is in a cute little house. Perfect setting. The smoked salmon eggs benedict is amazing. I noticed they had a meal on the menu with a spicy hollandaise so i substituted the regular hollandaise that would come on my meal for that. Great idea, if i do say so myself. Most of the breakfasts come with their special potatoes (potatoes with onions/bell peppers and cheese).....also awesome! I also tried the Californian Omelet. Its huuuuuuge! They put a cilantro chicken sausage inside of it thats very good. There is also a great selection of hot teas for all you tea drinkers. Even thought the place was packed and a line of people waiting on the street, the server was perfect (her name is Lara). Best service I've had all year. Parking was tough at the time I was there- 12:30 on a Sunday. Had to go a little over a block away. Even with the crowds and every table full of people, we had food in front of us in 15-minutes. I went to Marston's last weekend hoping to have something akin to a orgasm of the taste buds, but alas, it didn't happen. I rolled in with some girlfriends for sunday brunch and went at our meal family style. After waiting a solid half hour or so (not unreasonable for any decent brunch place on the weekend), we were seated.. I ordered apple juice, which was lukewarm.. (blech!!) the waitress did bring me a cup of ice to make up for it.. but still.. warm apple juice?? It's not cider.. and it's 100 degrees out! I must admit, the cornflaked french toast is really good. It's crispy enough so that when the syrup soaks in, it doesn't get that soggy.. The Californian omelette was good, but not to-die-for. It is what it is, with no surprises there.. The B&B sandwich (tri-tip) was also good, but nothing crazy.. Overall, good food with solid service, but please chill the drinks! I came here for brunch and found this to be quite a breakfast spot. We had the "Fantastic French Toast." It was made with corn flakes and the bread was sourdough (my favorite). It was delicous and crunchy. Not oily at all. It came in 4 pieces. Tastes great with syrup. We also tried the "Californian Omellete." OMG, this was the BEST Omellete I can remember. It had the perfect combination and layering eggs, cheese, chicken sausage, avocados, and sourcream. Perfect serving size. I don't remember ever finishing an omellette. It wasn't too cheesy either. Definitely a great little brunch location. My friend and I ordered Eggs benedict and bloody marys. I've got to say that the poached eggs were cooked to perfection, super creamy and delicious. The serving size is pretty big and the dish also came with potatoes which were very flavorful. It is a little pricey; our bill was $50 (including tip), but that's about the standard for most decent brunch places I've tried. The only major downside is that the parking lot next to the restaurant is super tiny so you'll have to find street parking. Came here for lunch with my friend on a Saturday afternoon. We purposely came late because I read how this place gets crazzzzy busy during prime brunch hours. We still had to wait about 15 minutes, but the weather was really nice so waiting outside was not bad at all. Our waitress was really friendly and helpful. We ordered the Californian omelette and the fantastic french toast. I'm lactose intolerant so I ordered the omelette with no cheese and overlooked that there was sour cream. A few minutes later, the waitress comes back and asks if I wanted sour cream since I ordered no cheese. GOOD CATCH! The food didn't take long to arrive at our table and we were not disappointed. That french toast though. My god. Maybe it's the fact that they use sourdough bread or the corn flakes, but it is delicious! It's perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The berries and a little bit of maple syrup give the french toast the sweetness you need. Overall, the food is delicious and the staff really takes care of you, so I will definitely return. Very cute and quaint place to eat breakfast. This place was very unique and had a lot of character. The atmosphere is very comfortable and the food was good as well! There was no wait. The menu provided a unique choice for each one of us! I had an omelet. Others had salad, a spinach wrap a Ruben and a BLT. Every dish was delicious. We all raved about our choices. Never dined here and I care not to. I was asked to write down my name for the waitlist, which I don't get because a couple that seemed to be a regular was seated before me. I clarified that I came first (only because I was in a hurry. Otherwise, I wouldn't care so much.) but the waitress/or maybe the owner replied in a RUDE manner to wait because I'll be seated shortly. My second time here and delicious AGAIN! we celebrated my friends' birthday and had brunch about 11pm for a group of 11. We waited about an hour. Well worth it in my humble opinion. I had the Powerhouse omelette with egg whites & veggies, no cheese, mushroom, and fresh fruit. The pineapple was so sweet! And I had had some Maui Gold just a few weeks ago! Yum, yum.
