    Split pea soup, perfect!
    Salvatore S.

The ambiance of this place says, French! It feels like you've been transported there. The lighting, furniture, walls, it just welcomes you. The service has always been good, at the bar especially. I like to swing by and sit at the bar for a bite and a glass of wine (love the Sancerre). The have a fixed menu where I have the small Caesar. Very delicious. I could eat the big one, if offered. Then I move on the the scallops. Always delicious! I have clams and oysters for a buck is I'm there between 4-6 I think. I also had a great lobster bisque the other day. This place is like comfort food, with a French twist. I'll keep showing up as long as they'll have me. We also came here for a family celebration in the summer and we sat outside. Also awesome. Just updated w mussels and fries, as well as split pea soup. Perfection..

The staff were all very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed a quick dinner tonight. My wife enjoyed the French onion soup. It was super hot and very cheesy, she enjoyed it after it cooled down. For dinner she enjoyed the Branzino which was flavorful and a large portion. I had the pork Milanese which was pounded thin and breaded and fried. The salad on top was fresh and tasty.

I haven't been to Martel in a few years, and wasn't sure if I'm still going to enjoy it. My fears were unfounded. The service was as always top notch. And the food...oh man, the food is some of the best in town. I had an amazing drink - Autumn in Manhattan. Followed by a lovely charcuterie board. My Fettuccini Bolognese was mouth watering. That pasta was so fresh, the flavors so good, and yet super light. My friend had a meatloaf, and loved it. I finished the meal with a great banana creme brule. Can't wait to go back!

The menu does not change, but their food is solid good. The trout was delicious. You cannot skip Beignets!!!

We got the mussels, escargot, burger, fries, croquettes and a croque Monsieur. Everything was excellent and the person working the bar area was so nice and attentive. The croque, escargot and fries were my favorite. The croquettes lacked cheese so it was just a lot of potato. Personally I wouldn't get them again, but that's my personal preference. I also got an NA cocktail with blood orange which was good, but a little sweet for my personal tastes. Overall a cute spot with a good happy hour selection!

We were seated by the window and were given freshly baked bread. We ordered the French classics: mussels, escargot, duck leg confit, and steak and fries. The mussels came out first and were pretty average. I usually like sipping the wine broth it comes with or dipping fries/bread into the broth. The escargot had plenty of oil and seasoning. It was actually too salty even though my coworker requested less salt on everything. I enjoyed dipping the fresh bread into the oil. Lastly came the entrees. I was a bit disappointed in both of them. The hanger steak was cooked medium rare like I wanted but the texture was not great. I was hoping for a more tender cut and this was a bit tough and lean. The frites were cooked well and very crispy. The duck confit was very tender but I didn't think it was amazing. Overall I don't think I will be returning to this restaurant with so many other great options around. I might be biased as I am not too familiar with French cuisine but we already sampled most of the classics already.

Mon Dieu! The warm goat cheese salad! I swore I wasn't going to eat it all, but somehow I emptied my plate. I added chicken and the meat was juicy and savory. The sour cherry vinaigrette was a lovely way to dress the toasted almond shavings and greens. The Montrachet melted in my mouth. The service was attentive and cordial. I felt bad they couldn't coax dessert because I've had their crème brûlée on another occasion and it was heavenly. C'est magnifique, Chez Vous! Every plate felt carefully put together, with classic French techniques and just enough creativity to make each dish feel special. And then there was dessert. The profiterole was the perfect ending to the meal--a light, airy pastry filled with ice cream, covered in a crisp hazelnut shell, and finished with a smooth chocolate glaze. I love French food and it's something we don't have very often so I was excited to come back. Unfortunately the food wasn't that great. The service was wonderful and the space hasn't changed (the carpets could probably be changed and the walls that have the quaint murals on them are dirty (splatters of food or drink were on the wall next to where I sat). My escargots and the foie gras were perfect, but the ravioli was overwhelmed by one of the sauces (a gravy type thing underneath). The filet was also very good, but I wouldn't say it was special. My husband got the scallops and there wasn't much of a saffron flavor to the saffron sauce. The worst part was our soufflés were all raw in the centers.
