While driving down Tyco Road one day, we saw a sign that said "Home Design Center & Flooring." On a whim we decided to stop in and were met by the owner - Nafi. We learned that he had been in the same location for over 25 years and works mainly with referrals and repeat clients. He has an impressive book of business, is highly trusted by references, and he quickly understood what we wanted to accomplish. He visited our home and provided smart and thoughtful suggestions to optimize our project. After interviewing several other contractors, we decided to move forward with Nafi's team. He was extremely accommodating in scheduling with us and said he would make an effort to limit the time we had to spend out of our home in consideration of our family. He made this entire project an exciting and stress-free process, and we will always refer his company over anyone in our region. He is someone you can fully trust in your home, and is a doer who gets things done from beginning to end. Nafi and his team accomplished everything they said they would and more, and best of all, they did it ahead of schedule and on budget. The first renovation was a guest bathroom that we hired Solomon and his team to renovate two years ago. They did a great job. This project was much larger and included gutting our original (1969) master bathroom, moving fixtures and walls, and creating a walk-in closet from the bedroom next to the bathroom. After receiving proposals from 4 different companies, we chose to go with Image. They were not the lowest nor highest price, but we were comfortable with them and knew that the work would be done right. It was. Solomon and the Project Manager, Mr. Fikri, were amazing. Every step of the way they made sure everything was going right, according to the plan. Any questions that came up and decisions that needed to be made they were thorough, fair, reasonable and always had great ideas. The communication was great. We knew exactly when Mr. Fikri and his team would arrive to work and they did. The master bathroom is now a beautiful focal point of our home with a state of the art glass enclosed shower, a water closet, heated floors in the bathroom, and a magazine quality walk in closet. Two months later my wife and I still feel like we live in a hotel. We had a small repair job needed in our basement- replacing about 4 feet of water damaged tack strip, carpet padding, and a 12 inch x 12 inch square of carpet. Dixon came out to give me an itemized estimate, which included 7 hours of labor (the bulk of the total cost). I questioned this, given the work we needed done, was it really going to be 7 hours of labor. He said that this was just an estimate and it could be less. I signed and hired him based on this initial estimate and conversation, and paid him the deposit. The technician sent out was very polite and professional, and he did great work. He was here from approx 8am-10am, and then left to get the 12"x12" replacement carpet square, and came back from 5:30-6pm. Things went very south when I received the final invoice, expecting it to be not much more than the deposit since the labor hours were so much less. The invoice was for the remainder of the full amount quoted. When I questioned this with Dixon, I was told that the cost was the cost, as stated in his estimate. When I pushed back about the labor amount charged, and the fact that I had questioned it before signing, he said that he meant the time might be less but not the cost. Dixon was incredibly dishonest and does not honor his itemized estimates. What's the point of itemizing an hourly labor charge if the actual work takes 4 hours less than quoted? Why would I be charged for labor hours that were not provided? He should have told me the cost would be the same as the estimate regardless of the time spent. It's a very deceitful practice.

Erick and his team worked on my floors after a catastrophe flood that occurred 5 days after we…read morebought our new house. I was in a hurry to get it done before we moved in. The floors were well done, but my finish seemed to show more snd more footprints with time. I contacted the team to find out if I was doing something wrong. Without hesitation, Erick and his team came out to take a look and volunteered to buff and do the poly coat again. Wow. The difference was night and day! I really appreciate them standing by their product. I recommend this team for the DMV area.

The flooring install looks great and very well done…read more Erick paid attention to detail, matching the landings to the reclaimed flooring in other rooms to pull the look together, even though this was not something we'd thought of before. :) His team was also patient in accommodating a slightly later than anticipated start each day, as I had to travel to the home to let them in. There were a few hiccups with stain color, namely how it looked in natural light and with the lights on (partly due to the fact that I am new to wood staining and partly due to the red wall adjacent to the sampling we did -- please do your research if you are new to this). There were also smudges on the wall post floor staining, all but one of which Erick was able to fix up (after I noticed and pointed them out which, unfortunately, was after the project was deemed complete). Erick provided a discount for the inconvenience/the one leftover smudge, which I appreciated. Erick took responsibility for his and his team's work and was responsive to our needs and any issues. The floors look great at a reasonable price and I was able to support a small business, which I value (and hope you will too). His primary crew, who worked in my home, were respectful, skilled and kind. I am glad to recommend them to others. Edit: A couple days after the work was done, I noticed some left over materials from the project like wipe cloths, empty plastic bottles, etc. in the home (not a huge amount so not the biggest deal, but things do add up). While the actual flooring work is excellent, clean up/close up is not always 100% it seems, so that's the area I would recommend the company improve. :)

After they completed the job in about three hours, here's a picture as well as the note I sent to their management... "Hey Marielis. Just paid the invoice. Wanted you to know that your team crushed it! So excited to see it. They really made my dream come true on the floor for that trailer. Thank you so much. When we are ready to look at re-tiling our bathrooms, we will be giving you a call." Additionally, the on-site team lead provided great communication before, during, and after completion of the project as well as pictures along the way. They also showed extreme attention to detail in finishing out the circular corners in the very back of the trailer. If you couldn't tell already, I am extremely pleased with how this turned out!
