Been to Martini's Bistro several times over the past couple years. Housed in an old house lends some charm to the place but can also make it a bit crowded as they try to fit as many tables in their space as possible. Their 4-top tables are actually too small for 4 people to sit at with appetizers, drinks, salads, entrees. The staff is always very nice & accommodating, knowledgeable. Their wine list is very limited, about 5 whites & 5 reds, none of which have any age to them. Their menus offers some nice options between meats and vegetarian options, however there's always some sauce or side with an entree that seems out of place. For example, their burrata has whole cashews added to the plate for some reason and there's a red sauce that the cheese sits on that tastes like a red pepper puree and cumin, which is an odd combo with the traditional Italian cheese. Similarly, the seared ahi tuna, which comes with Kalamata olives, cucumber & feta cheese, is served with a sort of couscous in a tomato sauce with cumin (again) which gives it a more Mexican taste than Mediterranean. They've always seemed to add an odd, conflicting flavor to some of their dishes which can be off putting. A safe bet to to order their steak, which always comes prepared in a traditional way. Beware of the crab cake-good flavor but the last several times I've had it there are little pieces of shell in it, making it inedible. read more

We live nearby and were looking for a good date night out - something more upscale and the quietness of Terry Street versus the loud cars on Main was what drew us there, that and the alluring patio. As far as ambiance goes, I'll give it 5 stars - the lights, the music, and the patio heaters made for a comfortable outside dining experience. The food left something to be desired. We started with calamari which was a generous portion, and the sauces to accompany were pretty good. Our martinis were fantastic - I had a gimlet and my fiance had one dry, with olives. Both gin, both good. For the main course, I chose the scallops and crab cake. Crab cake was okay - a little mushy and pretty standard in terms of seasoning. Green beans and potatoes were also okay, although while there was a plentiful amount of vegetables (and the crab cake was decent - size as well), the best thing on the plate were assuredly the scallops, which there were two of. And I found myself thoroughly disappointed that there were two and not three. And that may be why I'm writing this review in the first place. I even woke up this morning thinking about the two scallops, cooked perfectly, alongside a heap of crispy potatoes. So many potatoes, too few scallops. I was at Martinis on 5-21-2024. We were a party of 5. While i know that the dining experience should be slow so you can enjoy the meal, the service we received was far from enjoyable. The steak that I had was probably the toughest piece of meat that I have ever had. I simply could not finish it. I did not complain about the steak, shame on me. I guess I expected much better from this establishment. My spouse and I had a glass of the house Cabernet but were shocked to see the charge for those two glasses was $48. Wow! To book a reservation, they charged me $25 which did not get removed from my dinner bill. I did call and after four separate calls, the charge was finally reversed. Thank you. Such a beautiful environment and nice seating outside. I feel like the kitchen has a "cook" vs a "chef".. It's sort of good but the little things are missing: no one trimmed the green beans, both ends were on, the crab cake good, but needed a slice of lemon or a little sauce, the vergys were just fried in butter and not inviting. And it's pricey, which is fine if it's good. I wish it were better and it could be, but more attention and the chef's eye is needed. read more

i hate to start with a negative but the pastry covered baked brie was far from enjoyable as it was cold in the center. we were expecting ooey-gooey cheese and got something not quite there. i can however rave about the entrees. my wife had the blue crab cakes with seared scallops and the portions were generous and the crab cakes had just enough binder to hold together. i had the center cut rib steak and it was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of fat and no gristle. the prices are a bit high for this market, but not outrageous. the atmosphere is classy and the wait staff attentive but allow for a very leisurely pace for our meals. all in all a good dining experince and we will certainly be going back to f=give them a second try to get five stars! read more

Our favorite restaurant in Longmont for date night or special occasions. The food is outstanding and of course, the martini's are delightful. I absolutely love sitting outside under the string lights in the summer time. We also spent a Christmas eve here with friends and ended up with a whole room to ourselves which was perfect and we were even given toys for the kids! Amazing service! Highly recommend! read more

On two different occasions I have been insulted by the rude, snotty behavior of the manager of this restaurant. Once, 4 of us showed up for a reservation for a special event (not all that special) and she demanded we show her our email confirmation from the restaurant or she would not let us in. The next time I brought a large party to the restaurant and she refused to give us a printed menu-we had to use our phones, no choice. I had a salad that tasted like a premade from the grocery store. When i made our reservations I was required to allow them to use my credit card to deposit $12-which is forfeit if you cancel less that 24 hours before. Each party is allotted a certain amount of time to eat and if you go over the time they will "nudge you out" (their words). Their wine list is very limited and their food not good enough to put up with their complete lack of customer service. read more

Amazing place! My wife and I came here after hearing about it were not disappointed! Great martini's and atmosphere! Cute old house setting with great relaxing patio as well. Highly recommend coming for happy hour and trying the charcuterie board appetizer have a few drinks and then stay for dinner! The crab cakes and scallops entree was absolutely amazing! Crab cakes had a touch if red onion that completed the flavor! Scallops were cooked perfectly! Loved the pairing with the potato and asparagus! My wife had the wedge salad that was good as well! A very cool "mansion used for business", Martini's is a restaurant you could bring your significant other to, impress a date, take the folks out (to show off), enjoy with friends and colleagues, but you might want to make a reservation. It's located on the outskirts of Main Street and Third Street, on Terry St. Street parking was easy to find nearby. We decided to dine outside on a warmer night and the garden was beautiful with an area in the front that appeared to be somewhat of a "beer garden" (they serve other alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks) with vines, trellises and semi-communal tables (within CoVid guidelines). Several parties were seated at picknic-like benches (white) and we could overhear their laughter (but not too loud). The middle patio area was arranged with small circulartables and was where we dined. It was really romantic- except I was with my father, so... The back/side garden seemed to have larger tables and again, is surrounded by a beautiful garden. I can't comment about the atmosphere inside as we didn't eat inside. Our server was excellent (I should have gotten her name). We started with a couple drinks, a Piccadilly mocktail for myself, Earl Grey Tea, honey and hibiscus mainly, and a glass of wine for my father. He's INTO wine and felt that the per-glass wine selection (CA/OR) was very good. We started with the Americanized Tuna poké, which is significantly different from Hawaii's poke, it did contain soy sauce, but after that, it's all mainland ingredients (I'm from Hawaii, so believe me, it a totally different dish). It also includes a cream sauce with a hint of sesame, won ton chips (as a vehicle for the poke), cucumber and radish. I really liked it, I just don't identify it as being poke! For dinner, I had the Grilled Organic Salmon/Nova Scotia wild Salmon with rice pilaf and asparagus, also flavored with teriyaki flavor, I liked it and begrudgingly gave my father a taste. My father had the crab cakes and scallops which I also tasted and wondered if I should have ordered THAT, but the salmon was excellent! We shared the Almond ice cream which was a deep chocolate flavor which was topped with poached cherries and a red wine sauce. I could have eaten much more. All in all, we really had an enjoyable evening! Prices are moderate and one could easily spend $60+ per person, but so worth it. Happy hours specials available from 3-5pm except (weekends?) and holidays with a great selections mixed drinks, beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks. They have a pre-fix menu just for this event. Shocker, we were still charged $15 per meal, I thought this was included in the price of the ticket? Guess not! Maybe I missed this but I feel as though I could have definitely had a better meal somewhere else for the up charge of $15 per plate. We both choose the pork tenderloin (other choice was pasta). Soup or salad came with it, we had 1 of each. And a 2 bite dessert was included. Salad: small little dinner salad, good Soup: tomato, tasted odd & was pink not red Pork: bland & cold, served with mashed potatoes which were also like warm decent taste I guess. I ate it because I was hungry but didn't enjoy it Dessert: peppermint creme brûlée, yum! Only 2 small bites worth The restaurant itself is cute, it's an old house. Service was decent for being a busy promo night. Beer ridiculously expensive, we happened to get a drink order in just before HH ended, but otherwise a beer will run you premium prices...like $6-8! The food was ok. The steak skewers were good but sitting on an indifferent pile of greens. A friend had the mussels which were good, but no bread was offered for the broth. My bistro salad was dripping in dressing - my mistake - I should have asked for dressing on the side. Boring salad anyway. Very disappointing service - no menus! We had to pull up the restaurant app and read from the menu on our phones. Very annoying when you go out with friends and immediately have to gaze at our phones. Get some menus! So We have been going to Martinis Bistro since inception in 2004. As of mid 2020 it has new ownership and while its always had fantastic martinis, good food and stellar service, the food just got upgraded. I was very impressed on March 17th, 2021. We had the lamb, the New York Strip and I had the Pork Tenderloin. All of us at our table were commenting on how delicious their plate was. My pork was especially exquisite; subtle flavors, perfectly cooked on a bed of creamed corn that blew me away. This is now officially one of my favorite restaurants in Colorado! read more

Really a 3.5 stars, but gets rounded up to 4 due to being a Longmont establishment (versus being in a city with a more bustling restaurant scene). The reason I go to Martini's on a semi-regular basis is because of the mixed drinks. The have a large cocktail menu with drinks ranging from your standard dirty martini ("Dirty Old Man" - yes they should probably be rounded back down to 3 stars for naming a drink that) to all kinds of fabulous fruity concoctions. They are all served in a martini glass and accompanied by the shaker which still has another drink's worth within! So even though the drinks seem pricey at first for around 8 bucks, you are actually getting a two-fer. Good deal. The food is all decent. I tend to have higher expectations and just don't think they demonstrate a real passion for food. But it seems pretty reliable and affordable. I usually get one of the sandwiches which run the same price as my drink! We've had some very tasty desserts. The atmosphere inside is really lacking, which is unfortunate because the house is a lovely old Victorian. The inside has been sapped of all character. But step outside onto the patio, my preferred seating area. It is a great place to go on a temperate evening. read more

The service was excellent, and the servers understood the menu and could really provide answers to all of our questions. I have Celiac and ate safely there. Although, as always call ahead and ask questions about how they handle cross contamination. Some Celiacs are more sensitive than others. They do have GF options and they were terrific! read more

Impromptu date night with my honey. We had both heard good things about Martini's and decided to dive in. We arrived at about 7:30p on a Friday night without reservations - no problem. We were seated right away on the patio. They have a very nice patio space - if you can, sit outside. Our server was very friendly and attentive. At one point, he got tied up with something so the manager came to check on us; also very friendly. First things first: he ordered a beer and I got the Sharkbite martini. I'm not usually a huge fan of martinis - which I told our server - and he suggested this one. It was really good! We started by sharing the mussels appetizer and a small salad (Berries & Bubbles, I think?). Both were fantastic. He ordered the Giada (pasta with various seafood items - crab, scallops and shrimp) and was very pleased. I got the Acadian (cajun scallops with polenta and a chilled black bean and corn relish), also delicious. Their serving sizes were pretty impressive; definitely a good amount of food. In fact, we decided to pass on the dessert plate...and some of those items looked divine because we were full. I think next time, we'll start with dessert...so we don't make the same mistake twice. I'd give it 4.5 stars if Yelp allowed half stars. This is one of our go-to date night places as it isn't really a kid-friendly place as much. You could take kids here but it's just a little pricier than I'd like to take kids too, and it's quieter and more appropriate for couples or adult parties. Went for lunch with a colleague. Food: good -- had a lunch special...open faced warm turkey, cheese and tomato sandwich on sourdough over smashed potatoes. Very good but rich. My colleague had the mac and cheese - also very good but rich. Service: friendly server; general service was slow. Over an hour for lunch which makes it tough to get back to work. Martini's is the perfect example of everything that is good about Longmont's restaurant scene. I recently reserved a table for myself and two of my daughters as a kind of low-key bridal shower/bachelorette dinner for one of my daughters. Everyone from our waiter Dave, to Darren the manager, to Sarah the owner did everything possible to make it a special evening for my daughter. The food is always outstanding, the cocktails delicious, and the personal touches unsurpassed. Martini's isn't cheap, but neither is the experience you have there. This is a true Longmont gem and as good a dining experience as you'll find in any city anywhere. read more

We had been aware of Martinis because they advertise here on Yelp yet everytime I have checked out the ratings we decided it wasn't worth going because of the 3.5 stars. Why waste an evening out on mediocre food. Finally decided to try this place because it was written up in the Denver Post recently with rave reviews. Still skeptical we went and tried our luck. Sooo glad we went. Little Victorian house with wonderful ambiance and looks like the outdoor patio would make for a terrific summer date night. We had the Calamari Salad which was really good. Crispy lettuce with a lovely Garlic Parmesan dressing and the calamari was sweet and crunchy. Hubby had the salmon and it was delightful. Thin and grilled perfectly. Of course we had a couple of signature martinis. Mine was the Cosmo Kramer which was yummy his was straight vodka. They have a whole Martini menu. The website doesnt say but Happy Hour is from 3-5:30 and then again after 8. This place is delightful and it's our substitute now for another upscale Longmont place that we won't be going back to. read more

3 1/2 stars. I like Martini's Bistro mostly for their patio. Last time we visited the food was good but I was surprised by the prices, definitely on the higher end (an average of $25 for entrees). The atmosphere inside is nothing special (the restaurant is located in a Victorian house), but seems to lack the small touches that would make it either charming or upscale. Our waitress was friendly, service efficient and the food good. So why am I not loving it? I guess the fact that we had made a reservation and were not seated in the main room did not help. Instead, the four of us shared a small (sad) space with a loud group of people. My octopus salad ($17) was good, but I would have been happier with a smaller portion at a lower price. If I remember correctly, all salads are $17. The cocktail selection is fine, but if you want a martini, prices start at $12, on par with more upscales places in Denver or Boulder. Dessert was good, a chocolate hazelnut and peanut butter mousse presented in a glass. So, overall the food and drinks were fine, but for that price I expect a little more sophistication, both in the atmosphere of the restaurant and in the way the food is plated. If you want traditional food in a fairly classic setting, this is your place. read more

The first time was with a group of people they put us in a corner and we did not have enough room to eat it was extremely uncomfortable even though we had made reservations well in advanced. The food was good but pricey. The second time we showed up and they said we had to wait just a few minutes and they would seat us. We waited in the room and noticed that people coming in after us we're being seated. The manager owner was sitting his friends and skipping over us. We stayed only because we're hungry the food was good again pricing but their professionalism is missing. The person running the front of the house certainly did not take care of us. Nice gem in Longmont. Highly recommend making reservations. I love their martinis i like that it is shaken and poured table side and they leave the shaker so you can top off your drink. I tried Rosemary's Pear this time and had a beautiful pear flavor with just a subtle taste of ginger. My husband really enjoy his French onion soup to start. The brown sugar on the scallop appetizer was too overpowering. Service was very attentive. Even the manager came by to check on all the tables and refill waters. I ordered the salmon entree, it had very nice flavors but was over cooked. That was definitely disappointing considering when I ordered I asked how it was cooked and was told it was medium rare. My husband ordered the mahi it came with Brussels sprouts which I devoured I have never enjoyed Brussels sprouts but those we sautéed phenomenally! Martini's Bistro is a great find in Longmont. We've never had even an OK meal. They've all been wonderful. Most recently the Rib Eye with mashed potatoes and broccolini. Cooked medium rare, I believe it to be the best steak I've ever had. The wine pairing was perfect. While my companion and I were stuffed, the neighboring table had our waiter bring us chocolate pumpkin cheesecake to take home. I've never been a fan of that particular combo but it was heavenly. Light and smooth with warm spices, and the chocolate didn't overpower it. Just delicious. Thank you to our waiter David for taking care of us, the chefs for a superb meal, and to the mom and her kids at the table next door for an unexpected treat! read more

The company I work for had a Christmas party here. While the bartender was in the weeds for a bit because we must've all arrived at the same time, he rallied and helped make it a great dinner party! We've been here a few times now, so I am ready to post my thoughts. The first time, we got the table right outside the patio door - not the nicest place to sit and we felt like we weren't treated quite as well (maybe because we were younger?)...the food was good though, the bacon wrapped scallops we had were fantastic! The other times, we've gone with the in-laws and sat indoors. Much nicer service and still great food. The portions are large, but still edible in one sitting. It's a nice place for Longmont and worth eating at for a more upscale meal. read more

Dinner on 8/13/2019 So we have been customers of Martinis Bistro since it was ChriSars. We have seen it go through a lot of transformations but the latest was really depressing. If I could give 0 stars I would. All the servers that have been there for years seem to be gone. All new staff including the Gen Mgr who has been there 1 week. Our server never announced what the specials were and I did mention we were celebrating a birthday and nothing from staff. The Gen Mgr was there when I stated and he did nothing. So we ordered wine. The first bottle came out and they opened it there and it was the wrong year. They said they had a better bottle so they came out from the bar with a taster of it. Funny they did not bring the bottle just a little wine in a glass... I said we would take it (of course it was $55 versus my original pick of $38). They come out of the bar with an opened bottle of wine and pour us 4 small glasses and the bottle was empty... (what happened to the rest of it?) We believe it was behind the bar and they didn't have a fresh one and sold us their opened one.. ( I cheated... I heard them whispering that from the bar...) Unbelievable. They have "homemade lemoncello" on their menu as a martini and as an after dinner drink. Dont order it... they dont have it. The main course and the appetizer we got were very good. My compliments to their Chef who seems to have stayed there. I feel bad that the rest of the staff isn't anywhere near as competent as him. Oh, and the dessert... we ordered the Lemon cheesecake. 2 of us got large pieces, 1 got a med size piece and my wife got a much smaller piece. Very unprofessional. I hate writing bad reviews but the last 3 times we have been to Martinis have been our 3 worst times there. We used to be regulars coming every week or other week. The original staff of Judd, Daniel, Anthony and Stefan and others were great. Now we are looking for a new regular place. It Used to be the great place in Longmont. Not any more. Stay away!! We sat inside and were the only table with customers. Outside I counted 5 tables. Lots of empty tables all night. Not packed like it used to be where you would need to make a reservation or you would have to wait 1-2 hours before you could get in. I guess others have been having the same bad experience we have found. Very Sad as I see this place closing soon at this rate. But maybe it would be a good learning experience for these new owners. I would have no desire to try their other restaurant Samples after seeing what they have done to Martinis. Don't believe just me....Please See Edward S review dated 6/1/2019.
