Extremely disappointed-- this used to be a favorite restaurant of mine, but the server on my last visit was extremely rude and condescending. He was extremely belittling so much so that I wished I had walked out. My drink was made wrong and two other people in my party had their meat undercooked. unfortunately they also changed their menu recently and the new menu doesn't have as many options as the old one. It's not JUST about the food here (which is fantastic, btw), but about the environment and the people. One of the best features is the great patio! However, the staff is also really friendly and gracious. I've enjoyed some kick-ass cocktails and fine meals at Martinis over the past few years, and the happy hour has always been a real bargain. But lately I've had qualms about taking friends there. Over summer we encountered a flippant - some would say rude - server, mediocre (at best) meals, and (seriously!?) a surcharge for extra cherries in my friend's cocktail. I hoped for a better experience just before Christmas, when I took friends out to celebrate a new job. Nice ambiance, slamming drinks... yes! A patronizing attitude from our server was truly off-key; my fish was overcooked to dryness (unforgivable in my book); neither of our friends enjoyed medium-rare steaks that were actually bleu. Obviously we should have sent everything back, but we had already waited far too long and no one had bothered to return to verify that our meals were satisfactory. My friends are timid types and I did not want them to feel embarrassed, so I let it go. I'm a realist and I know food well - I'm a trained chef with a Diplôme de Cuisine (Le Cordon Bleu, Paris). Even the best dining establishments have their cycles. Right now, it seems that Martinis is not firing on all cylinders in the kitchen or front of house. Diners won't subsidize poor attention to basics indefinitely - especially when the check is hefty by local standards. I hope my next visit is more enjoyable! read more

We've been to Martini's a number of times and generally go before 5pm on Saturdays (just after opening). We've never made a reservation and have always been seated. This past weekend (9/28/13) the experience was different. Our group of 5 were greeted like we were an imposition. After the host went to check if we could be seated, we were treated like we were fortunate for being allowed to dine there. Not the best way to treat repeat customers. We were there til about 6:30pm and the restaurant was not full. Our bill totaled $175. I'll think twice about spending my money there. That being said...the food is very good and the martini's are delicious. I hope they train their greeter/host in proper service etiquette. Let me start this off by saying I LOVE food. I am also a very adventurous eater, and enjoy menus that are unique. Never in my life have I come across a menu where I would stuff my face with literally every item on the menu.. until walking into Martini's Bistro, that is. This is a charming restaurant with a large outside patio to sit in and beautiful inside dining to match. The bar is tinyyyy (I think it maybe fit 4-5 people), so you definitely want to come here for a sit down and eat (you should be doing that anyway). The menu was expansive and so creative. It took our party of three at least 30 minutes to decide what we each wanted. I glanced at the wine selection, which was very decently priced, and ordered a tasty malbec. In the end we chose the following: cluck n claws for me (chicken stuffed with blue claw crabmeat, fontina cheese, and spinach), the twist (amazingly fresh pasta with fresh veggies), and the giada (linguini with fresh seafood in a tomato wine sauce). The twist beat out everyone, hands down. So tasty and refreshing. My cluck n claw was a close second. Delicously breaded with panko and this cheesy crab mixture was so tasty. The giada left a bit to be desired.. our waiter highly recommended this dish, but it fell flat for all three of us. Just seemed like something was missing. Our waiter was nice, but just a tad bit pushy. It seemed like he was just arbitrarily suggesting things, but I could be wrong. He may have been in a rush with us as they were busy, and he was in the middle of training a new person. All in all I LOVED this restaurant. I wanted to love this place. I'd heard good things from a neighbor who frequents it, and am a huge fan of independently-owned businesses in Longmont. Three weekends ago, we finally had an opportunity to check it out with some good friends. The night we'd chosen to visit coincided with a "white" party. Having arrived without a reservation, we registered with the host and were whisked away upstairs to a private apartment that is both used for short-term rental and as a "spillover area" for waiting guests. Curious and interesting. We enjoyed a beverage around the kitchen island and good conversation with our server/bartender. Once seated, we ordered a bruschetta served in a glass alongside garlic-rubbed crostini - fine enough. For our entree, the "nutty chick" - a macadamia-encrusted chicken breast served alongside seasonal vegetables - was flavorful. I did not enjoy anything from the martini menu, but my wife and friend did love their drinks. Dessert consisted of a large slice of cheesecake - solid if not particularly memorable. Our experience began to change just afterwards - we were asked by the manager if we wanted to stay for the party, and then asked if we wanted shots. Not understanding what this meant, we agreed and became witnesses to a lively event filled with disco lights, music, and dancing. I thought a twister had whisked us out of Longmont. It was interesting, but not a particular draw for us. The party didn't last long, and we'd decided to hit the road. After a long delay, we received the check, which was entirely wrong. Entrees for the adjacent table (folks whom the server admitted were "comped") were added to our bill, and we were charged a $10 cover charge each for the white party. (With all respect to the manager and their vision, we would not have stayed if we were aware of the charge.) Other errors included mis-entered entrees. It seems as though the managers made honest (if not drunken) mistakes; they were eventually corrected, and the cover charges were removed. Having had items added for a table which was "comped" did in fact leave me feeling uneasy. The process took quite some time while we waited. The management left me with a uncomfortable vibe - both with the response of us not having a reservation and for cleaning up the check. It did not leave me wanting to return. I'll start with the positives. Get the blueberry mousse. Seriously, the best thing I've had in a while. These guys do dessert VERY well. The other food was good, but a bit overpriced. Had the catfish tacos and the ribeye...both okay. Wasn't a huge fan of my drink, but it wasn't bad. Honestly, I don't have much to say about this place except that it was okay...and that their space is super weird. That isn't a knock against them, it's just an odd layout and I couldn't figure it out. Great atmosphere and fun outdoor area. Martinis are great and the food is fine...not fantastic though. My first visit we had terrible service. Food and martinis came out at different times and one martini didn't come until late into the meal. I chalked it down to the waiter being new. Our second visit - service was great until we asked for a box to take home food. When we didn't receive one for 15 minutes I flagged down the manager/owner and asked. I couldn't believe the dirty look he gave me! He acted like I had offended HIM but he really was offensive to us. I don't understand how the rest of the staff can be so fun and responsive while working for him. We'll probably go back but don't let the manager/owner near our table! read more

My wife and I found this place with high reviews, but we were not impressed! We had a reservation and it took three people to find it in the computer! Finally seated our waitress seemed uninterested! Our drinks came out and the waitress poured them wrong, instead of taking blame she bad mouthed the substitute bartender! Finally drinks come out and a drink that is supposed to come with olives we later find out we were charged for olives! This from a place called "martinis"?? Onto the food we ordered the Pompeii it was a little bland and seemed to be missing something! Definently ways to make it better! The side salad, no complaints it was a perfect blend! The entrees I had the mama Mia which seemed to have frozen pasta but was not bad, this dish as well could use some modifications. My wife had the Alaskan caper it as well was decent but the pasta seemed to be frozen and not fresh as one would imagine. Other than that this place seemed a little stingy with the bread! And my drink went dry a few times throughout my meal! On closing it wouldn't hurt to clean the dead bugs out of the light fixtures! Great local place. The atmosphere is fun - in a converted historic home with a great outdoor patio full of flowers in the summer. The food is pretty inventive and tasty. It can be a bit pricey, but the portions are good sized. Of course they have lots of different martinis and the beer and wine selection is good too. While lots of people view this as a "fancy" place, the atmosphere is still pretty casual and family friendly. We usually go for dinner and think that's the best option. They have brunch, but it's pretty standard breakfast fare and not the best they have to offer. read more

Best Outdoor Patio In Boulder County I've been here about half a dozen times and never had a bad experience. Atmosphere- Wonderful, expansive outdoor patio shaded by oak trees. Located in a Victorian house in downtown Longmont. Quiet, romantic, perfect place to take a date. Service- Impeccable. Always friendly. Never had a complaint. Food-Very good, fairly priced. They have a great "recession special" going right now from 4:30-6:30. A four course meal including salad, entree, desert and coffee or soda for 12.95. Quite the deal. read more

Had I been here more than once and had the exact same experience, this would definitely be a five star review. Here's the rundown. Atmosphere, is fantastic. Really great outdoor patio area, the building itself is a Victorian, locally owned house in downtown Longmont. I could see that Martinin's could be a fantastically romantic spot. Great tables, very comfy chairs and I love how there are different rooms and that we were asked which one we might like to sit in. Service: Absolutely fantastic. Our server made sure we were well taken care of. The two people helping our table of four were quick to help answer questions, recommend drinks and pair wines with our dinner. Drinks: I opted for wine with dinner which I selected from a lengthy and well balanced list. Following the meal I had the "Dirty Old Man," a masterfully prepared dirty martini. Food: Excellent. I can really dig a place that turns an old house into a restaurant, and one that can actually work well in fact. I met some folks here for a meeting and we had 12 people there I think. I was wondering how they were gong to accommodate all of us. Being that I had never been here before, I didn't realize that there were separate rooms and an amazing patio!! With all the rooms being separate, it's like the place is all to yourself and you can bletch and cuss all you want, well actually you still shouldn't do that. Tisk tisk. Rated best patio in Boulder County, which is proper cause it could be true, although I haven't been to all of them so I can't say for sure. Either way, check it out before it gets too cold. Now for the real reason you came here, to stuff your face. Since this was a business meeting, we didn't get entrees, we just did apps and dranks (which is way better then just drinks). We tried all the starters and they were all, at worst, really good. The best was the Like An Egyptian. Basically a mini pizza, but way better because it's mini and you get that concentrated goodness. Also, try the Where Are You Spongbob not just because the name is awesome, but because calimari is sooooooooooo good! I did have to try some Martini's, because, well, it's the name of the joint right?!?! I dabbled with a Down Easy mainly because of the delicious mango. Then it was on to a Frankly, My Dear which it a peach concoction again, because I love em da peaches. Point being..........grab some fancy mates (friends, buddy's, wife, husband, and or lover) and head over to the Bistro. Dress casual, but nice. The ambiance is mellow and classy. Another place we've been visiting since it first opened as ChriSar's almost 20 years ago. This restaurant has always been homey with excellent service and food. We always love to sit out on their enclosed deck or on the patio. I've always loved the Citrus Chicken (pasta in a lemon garlic sauce with grilled chicken on top). The Sea of Hearts is delicious, too. Favorite thing on the menu, hands down: ALMOND JOY TORTE. Homemade and soooo much better than the candy bar. Even if you're too full to enjoy it for dessert, get one to go and thank me later. :-) read more

Hmmm.... I think that this is really a 3.5. The martinis are delish, the food is great. V-day this year was a little crazy. The waiting area gets PACKED on busy nights and servers, obvi, get a little frazzled. Our reservation was messed up (for 6!!!) so it was a little inconvenient, but things always seem to work out there. I have to question the home-made dessert comment - the servers (2 separate ones) have told me they only make one of the desserts in house. The atmosphere is nice, the service is good, the food is great. I think of this place as a real find... recognizing that every place can have an off night. read more

This is a gem in Longmont. In warm weather, the outside patio is a delight to enjoy a meal and drinks on. We ate here last week and the food, service and ambiance was first class. One of the best meals we've eaten in the Boulder/Longmont area ever. And as residents of Boulder, we eat out frequently. The calamari appetizer was cooked to perfection. The entrees were excellent, as were the martinis. I can't recommend this establishment highly enough - it's worth a drive, if needed. Plus, the management is top notch. A sweet elderly couple, who had some mobility issues and difficultly walking, finished their meal and the staff held their hands and walked them down the street. Revised from previous review: I finally got back to Martini's Bistro, was seated quickly as well as given the opportunity to order. I wonder if going after 5:00 is better because they have more staff? Whatever the case, the food here is pretty good, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. I'm a fan of their salads, as they have a wide variety of combinations, for whatever you feel like. Their sandwiches are pretty good, also. I wasn't as impressed with the bloody mary that was ordered, since it came in such a tiny glass, and not the typical pint glass. However, their patio is inviting and relaxing when available for seating. ****************************** I will give this place a better review if I ever decide to actually EAT there. I stopped in for lunch one day and waited for ten minutes just for someone to recognize that I was standing at the front waiting to be seated (there was no one else waiting). I waited another ten minutes for my waiter/waitress, or ANYONE to recognize that I was even sitting there, waiting for a drink order. Staff would walk by, but ignore me. After that, I walked out. Martini's really needs to pay more attention to their customers. read more

Finally decided to stop here. Can't believe it took this long. The patio is super nice and would be great for get togethers. The server was friendly and the drinks were great. We sat on the patio and one of the first things I noticed was how clean it was, especially for an outdoor area. The cleanliness persist throughout the inside as well and the bathroom was also spotless. We had the arancini for appetizer and it was excellent. I highly recommend it. For the main entry, I had the Marco Polo and it was delicious. My friend had the sugar daddy and it was also delicious. I couldn't believe how fresh the seafood was. I'm from the coast so I'm accustomed to seafood being fresh and this met my expectations. Scallops don't keep very long and start tasting fishy pretty quick but these tasted very fresh. We finished the meal off with the blueberry bread pudding. It was freaking awesome! We were both very pleased with our meals and the dessert. My only knocks on the restaurant was that there weren't many people there and it took a while to get our food. Not overly long but enough for us to notice and get a little impatient and too much time between the appetizer and main course. The quality of the food made up for it though. My other problem was I think the Marco Polo should have more shrimp and Scallops. The ratio of seafood to the couscous was way off. I ate all of the shrimp and Scallops and still had half a plate of couscous to finish without anything. Aside from those minor problems, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. We both tried two different martinis that were great. I think we will stick with one each next time as we are not very big drinkers. OK - I think this is by far the best restaurant in Longmont that I've been to. My ladies group had a lovely dinner night out there this evening (7-25-15) and what a wonderful experience. From the lovely ambiance, to our waiter (Anthony) to the amazing food. I had the Alaskan Caper Salmon and I'll be thinking about it for days. They have a pastry chef who makes the desserts and they are to die for. There were eleven of us and we all thoroughly enjoyed this dining experience and were talking at the table that we have to go back in the future. read more

We have enjoyed Martini's for years. We were very disappointed last night when our pasta entrees were gummy ( not cooked correctly) and we had gone on Tuesday evening because of an Oct. 17th email offer of "Two for One Martini's On Tuesdays". Our waitress and the manager were not aware of this offer and I had to show them a copy of the email which fortunately I had brought with me. This is one of the few places to eat that really stands out in Longmont. There is very little in the Longmont area as good to eat and drink as Martini's. Martini's food compares well with some good places to eat in Boulder and Denver. The drinks are really a shining spot, but can really increase your bill in a hurry. The menu is solid top to bottom. These will be the best drinks you get in COlorado. Some of the appetizers are amazing, with my personal favorite being the bacon wrapped scallops (Pompi) Main corsers are always made from scratch, and often have a unique twist on a common dish. Desserts are actually well thought out as well and I have considered going to Martini's just to get some of the best cheesecake and desserts in town. The atmosphere is great, the bar is small, which is an issue when I want to eat alone. The deck is amazing and when open and you should really make it a point to eat on it at some point if you're in Longmont. The building itself is a Victorian home, and is just lovely to have dinner in. At the end of the day, the food and location always drive my rating. This is the best place to grab a drink and have dinner in Longmont, and honestly holds it's own with some of my favorite places in Denver. You need to give it a try, and have a martini with dinner! The ownership of Martinis has restored the reputation of the restaurant. We've been there several time recently and found it great. The service is first rate, the food top shelf and the menu well designed. I only wish they would bring back the octopus starter and add oysters to the regular menu. Love this place! The restaurant is in one of Longmont's lovely old Victorian homes so it feels nice and cozy. The outdoor patio is a must during the summer.
