This is the first time I took our clothes to Martinizing in Alameda. While we like their friendly customer service, we are not sure about some of their work. I specifically told the staff about a couple of stains in front of my husband's white shirt (see attached photos, one of the stains is yellow and is still there). The lady assured me that they would take care of it. I picked up the clothes from them and took out the clothes from the plastic bags the next day. While I was happy with the rest of the clothes, the 2 stains are still in the front of the white shirt. If they actually couldn't clean it, at least they should let me know and not to charge this "unclean" shirt! For that reason, I probably would bring my clothes somewhere else even though they started sending me discount "coupon"! read more

I have taken many items to this cleaners and one of my favorite things is they have in by 12 noon out by 4PM same day. June was particularly nice at the front counter. Thank you, June! They are very busy there and like other places have an alterations person at the front as well. There's parking because it is South Shore located near Starbucks. It's on the back side (west side) of the mall. There are places to eat as well near by so if you can gang all of your errands and/or pleasure at the same time it can help your day, right? After my second service with this company I had mistaken the hours as being closed on Sunday. I had panicked as I had needed my items being cleaned for Monday. At this point, being 1 hour past closing time on Saturday, I decided to travel to the store to see if I could catch someone after hours. Upon arrival, I stood at the door and flagged an employee down. This employee was Laura, after explaining my situation she employed empathy and informed me that they are indeed open on Sundays. With that, she still did not turn me away, she took time out of her night to reopened the register, find my clothes, and let me pay despite being hours past closing. Quite disappointed after receiving my items. The good reviews gave me confidence to bring my treasured clothes for dry cleaning. Unfortunately, it was a regular cleaning. It looked like it came out from my own washer and dryer at home. All my clothes were shrunk!!! All of them, I've never experienced this from other dry cleaning places. Dance is my passion and I had the opportunity to perform in an Easter Day Sunday service yesterday. The Saturday before my dance dress arrived and it was wayyyy too long. I could potentially trip on the extra fabric and that would be at the very least embarrassing. On a whim and a prayer I popped into this establishment asking if there was any way they could hem the dress for me same day service, I needed it the next morning. Last month, I had my $99 bridesmaid dress altered here. The day I paid for the alterations and brought it home, I tried it on and realized whoever did my alteration had cut off part of the sashes of my dress, which were supposed to help this to be a convertible dress. Now I have to wear the sashes tucked in as a strapless dress because I can't style it otherwise. I am uncomfortable with how much skin is exposed and it looks horrible. What really gets me is that the thread used to hide where my sashes were cut off is the same thread that was used to hem the length of the dress. No one at Martinizing has taken responsibility and whenever I talk to someone, they keep pushing me off and saying someone would get back to me. At this point, I just want my full refund for the alterations. I've been extremely busy due to work so I don't have the time to follow up every day or week and am frustrated that no one has gotten back to me, nearly a month later. I've tried several times to resolve this privately, without any resolution or follow up. I want the entire alteration to be fully refunded because it essentially ruined the dress for me and I've had to expend my time to hunt down what has happened (to no avail). I also had to buy another $99 bridesmaid dress because I am uncomfortable with how the first dress looks. Everyone seems pretty nice, but I'm just tired of this entire experience and simply want my money back. I've had to resort to posting on Yelp because of the lack of response despite reaching out privately via phone, message, and in person. Hope someone proactively reaches out to me this time since I'm now posting this publicly to keep them accountable. In case the owner/manager reads this, here are the details of your Martinizing's failure to get back to me: I followed up via phone call the day I took the altered dress home (on 7/19). I was told on the phone that someone was going to call me back after the weekend because the seamstress was gone for the day. I never got a call back. I called again the following week. I was told to come in to talk to the seamstress (Veronica), so I visited the store with my dress the following week or so to figure out what had happened. All I wanted at this point was confirmation that something I didn't ask for was done to my dress and maybe figure out how to fix it. Veronica looked at the dress where I showed her that the sashes were obviously altered because of the different colored thread that was used there, the hem and the waist - the rest of the dress has a neater stitch and a darker thread. She agreed she would look into it, and told me they would get in touch after the person who "worked on the weekends" came in, since she supposedly altered my dress. No follow up. When Martinizing sent out the generic follow up email asking for a review, I submitted my experience through there. I said I wanted to be contacted about my review. No follow up or mess. I made one final call to Martinizing to try to get this resolved and ask for a refund. That was a couple weeks ago and I spoke to Lettie (sp.?) who said she would call back by that Friday. At that point I said that I was fine getting only a partial refund, because I suspect the sash was accidentally cut off when my dress was being hemmed for length. I was working that Friday and couldn't pick up. No message was left. As I'm writing this, my husband is now there to speak to them in person, and he texted me to say that Veronica does not remember what happened and does not remember my dress. I still have the receipt and the dress. I suspect that he, like me, will be brushed aside again. read more

This is one of the most over promised under delivered laundry service in the Bay Area. These guys act like they are great but they have completely ridiculous service. They pick up and drop off, but mess up the requested service all the time. I have had 3 instances where shirts requested to be laundered were dry cleaned and I was charged a higher rate obviously. Then, I gave up and asked for dry cleaning the shirts. But, the delivery guy just kept the shirts on the floor instead of hanging them on the door. So, I ended up spending $10 for each shirt to be cleaned and they are still not wearable without ironing them again. These guys don't deserve to be paid more than $3 per shirt. I don't care about a refund. Just did not have the time to buy a premium service and be disappointed by their lack of quality and professionalism. Martinizing sucks. Never trying again. read more

Martinizing dry cleaners is really great, because I needed a sweater hemmed, and taken in. In three days. They followed through, and succeeded. I picked up my garment just in time. I frequently get stains on my clothing items. However, the wonderful staff at Martinizing dry cleaners gets out my stains on any type of garment. I've also given them hand wash items of clothing, and it always comes back looking better than when it was new. Also, now I use the delivery service. I usually just reply Y to a text message if I need pick-up, and delivery for my dry cleaning. Since Covid the opinion of pick-up, and delivery makes everything less stressful. Great work and PHENOMENAL service, especially from Letty. I came to get a formal dress pressed. I noticed some very light orange flecks on it when I picked it up. I spoke to Letty to see if they could come from the pressing (this was unlikely) and was upfront that they may have been there before. She dry cleaned the entire dress for free. I was sorta getting tired of the dry cleaning place near where I live. It's an old school place and I like supporting a small business, but sometimes the hours were not as wide and convenient. I'm always in Alameda, so I came here to try it out. Immediately upon walking in I could tell I was in a modern place and was impressed. It was Rizza who greeted me with a smile and I felt very welcome as a first time customer! The service was prompt and I even got a text when my clothes were ready to pick up. Very convenient, easy, and courteous service. Fantastic! I came back a couple months later (don't get dry cleaning very much) after calling and seeing if they had a wash and fold service. It sounded like I talked to Rizza again. Anyhow, I was in a bind and had a busy weekend, so I was willing to pay for this service. Well let me tell you... They were phenomenal and let me drop my clothes off sorta late in the day and we're going to try turning them around for me quickly! I walked in and saw Rizza and verified it was her I talked to! I also met KJ who was in the back. Everyone is smiles at this place! They personally called me to let me know the order was going to be finished soon. And then I got a text when it was completed. I came in right before closing and all my clothes were in a neat bag with a handle (similar to a comforter or bedding bag). Awesome! So clean and neat and orderly. I'm immensely happy and impressed! They completely bailed me out! Then! They surprised me even more by giving me a pre-tagged bag for laundry. And another pre-tagged bag for any of my dry cleaning needs. Can't even believe it!
