Great bakery, we don't like sweet pastries and this place is just right. There cupcakes are soooo good and the pies and brownies are just as good. The employees are very nice and patient always smiling. Parking can be a bit of a challenge depending on when you come but well worth it. Places to sit inside, no outside seating. read more

This place is a Burbank icon for little tea cakes. Tea cakes are a blend of muffin, cake, in a small square shape and perfect with coffee/tea. They are delicious and a great gift or dessert to bring to any party. It's not really a place to sit but just grab your baked goods and go. My husband has good memories about this place. He said that the lemon tea cakes were delicious and reminded him of his younger days. I tasted them and thought they were very tasty. I also ordered the sugar free bran muffin. I loved that!!! It was moist and with so much flavor. You don't need the sugar on this one. It's perfect. Also ordered the Mexican cookies and they were too sweet. Wouldn't order them again. As far as the bakery itself, the inside needs to be revamped because it feels cold and sterile. It needs some comfortable chairs and better lighting. The inside needs to reflect the brand. This place is a Burbank staple and it's a mom and pop establishment and I always support that. I would recommend the tea cakes and the brand muffins. Though I didn't order the other goods, they all looked great, including homemade cupcakes, danishes pies and cakes. Amazing, fast, welcoming service with a smile!! I went in for a pie for Christmas, it was so quick and easy! So happy I chose Martino's!

Ordered a cake in advance for a birthday event. They asked if we would like to have writing on it, wonderful and we gave them the information. Two days later we go to pick up the cake and it is blank. They said oh our decorator isn't in today ( Saturday). I asked why they offered to decorate it then. No reply. I said now I have an undecorated cake, yes they replied. The response was, I didn't take the order.We can't help you. I said so you charged me for a cake and it is blank. They said Oh we don't charge for the decorating. I said great I will explain that to the birthday person. Have been going here for years but based on the customer service I won't be any longer. Went today after the farmer market one stand told me how greet the tea cakes were so i went on over and for 2 of Rt under $5 bucks not actually give 3 star because staff which looked like young kids working didn't greet as i stood in the front counter waiting for them to stop talking , store was empty and they could care less n when i asked the young man which were the tea cakes he just said over there , my first time being there with all the baked goodies n most were not labled but i walked over the the other side of sweets n asked for 2 of something i had not seen nor had a label on them in a white bag not neatly but when i paid n left i tried one in the car not bad taste like a good cake just wish staff was more friendly or had better customer service read more

I remember years ago at a potluck when I use to work in Corporate America. Someone brought in these tiny little treats that looked pretty but I wasn't sure about them. The person told me once you eat one you will never be able to stop. Fast forward 10 years later and regardless of the increase in prices due to a of course the rise of cost of food, I will never stop coming to this beautiful little spot in Burbank. The taste of this Tea cake and the customer service has not changed. Still profesional and nice each visit. They're open six days a week and they have decent hour to be able to get there before work or if close by during lunch. If not you can catch them on Saturday. Parking: Limited parking but the point is, it's worth it . You can park on the street or if you are blessed enough to get a spot that is also good. There are times when you go in and it's empty because people are ordering everything they have for last minute wedding desserts, baby showers, bridal showers, birthday parties, pot lucks and family gatherings during the holidays. If you want to have a variety of dessert options all at once, this is a place to go to. They have so many options, see below: Cake pop balls Cupcakes Pies Gelato Freshly squeezed orange juice they have the machine there on site Lattes and Hot Chocolate Searing availability: Very clean area where they have tables set up indoor as well as outside enjoy the sun and enjoy your treats. However, the only thing that matters to me the most is their original tea cakes. The cake is so moist and so soft and full of flavor. The glaze is amazing. It's like maple vanilla glaze that just melts in your mouth when you take a bite, it's always smooth, never clumpy. You will not be able to eat one. You will want to eat a whole dozen. Yes. Tea cakes. They are famous for those. They need to improve on their pie skills. I bought a Banana cream pie for my wife's birthday. Huge mistake. (I should have made my own, but I was busy) Not sure where they got their recipe, but it's not good. It tasted funky. After taste wise. They used very little vanilla custard and it was mostly whipped cream. I missed that creamy custard. Very little banana. The crust was generic store bought tasting crust. Not that good 'vanilla wafer' vanilla tasting crust I grew up loving. My wife made me laugh because she said it was like the pies they throw at each other in silent movies. Lol. 95% whipped cream. For $25 (which is $25 cheaper than Republic of Pie, or House of pies) I'm still disappointed. I do not recommend Martinos for this particular pie. I haven't tried others there, so I would judge anything else. Counter help had zero personality. No 'Hello' upon entering. There ya go. read more

Not sure if you are supposed to thaw them out before eating but the cookies and cream cupcake was not anything to jump up for joy to. Tea cakes and brownies!! So glad they still exist, same recipe as 60+ years ago. Brownies come with or without nuts and the tea cakes can be colored for events. I got purple for my nieces sweet 16. And they will make a cake out of tea cake batter too! They also make amazing coffee cakes. Old school bakery est. in 1926. The popular "tea cakes" were the main reason for my visit. The Mexican wedding cookies was recommended to me by their staff, so I got those too. I personally recommend the tea cakes and the Mexican wedding cookies. Yummy and great with coffee or tea! I also purchased some cinnamon rolls and cupcakes. I didn't like them. Too dry! I had a few hrs to kill while waiting for my car repair. I discovered Martinos by simply searching for a place to sit. They have outdoor and indoor seating and classic jams that everyone loves graces your ears. I tried the Spinach and cheese croissant warmed, it was tasty but I wish it had more filling. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, this bakery is a lot of peoples favorite place.Some customers walked in knowing staff on a first name basis and received their regular order with excitement. I ordered a 1/2 dozen tea cakes to go. WOW I wish I would have gotten a dozen because now I have to drive out to Burbank for more and gas is HIGH!!!!Soooo good light buttery goodness oh my. The original may be my favorite. The blueberry and cranberry have crumbled topping which reminds me of muffins but the flavor is great you can really taste the fruit. read more

Well... apparently the management didn't work on their staff since my last review. So not a whole lot has changed. Came in for coffee and a sweet. Brought my sister for the first time. She had a cappuccino and I had a drip coffee. They didn't have my favorite, Florentine cookies. But got a tea cake for my sister as she's never even heard of them! I was surpass to see a half dozen didn't flavors! Mmmm but i got the original. I don't think the cashier who took out order knew how to make a cappuccino as it looked like they were struggling.(yes THEY.. it took two people to make the one coffee) We sat outside and enjoyed the coffee. My sister loved everything! I didn't get a napkin so i went back inside and asked a there were none out anywhere. She said they did have them and then proceeded to get a cake for another customer, then go in the back. I mean... I'm just asking for a napkin! I shouldn't have to wait on line again! Why didn't I know about this place earlier!!! My coworker brought these in for a BDay and i was blown away with the Tea Cake. It was so simple but nothing like I had before. It wasn't like a cupcake but a Mash up of Sponge and Butter cake, with a vanilla Glaze frosting. It was so soft and buttery! If you are a cake/cupcake lover i highly recommend getting one of these Tea Cakes ASAP! They do offer seating outside, there's is a parking lot. I really think this place has THE BEST tea cakes ever...reader take note, I know if no other tea cake making store This was my first visit to the store. The gentleman that helped me was super friendly, however the young girl who helped me at the register has very mundane. No smile, spark or enthusiasm AT ALL, and because of her, the rating is a three. In addition to the tea cakes, I picked up fruit tarts and eclares and they were oh so good!! I have been going to Martino's for decades but it's the first time in a very long time I decided to pick up some of their tea cakes. Walking in, their glass case had a lot less selection than I remember. Perhaps it was because it was later in the afternoon or because demand is lower during Covid times. The tea cakes were as delicious and scrumptious as the last time I had them. The inside is moist and fluffy. The iced frosting is not too sweet. They are a bit smaller in size from my recollection and now $1.80 each...I think a little inflated but not surprised given increasing prices everywhere. Tea Cakes are the wonder to this place. Today was my first day trying out a tea cake and if they all taste like this, I am absolutely a fan. This has been on my bookmark for some time. I was in the area and decided to stop by. Martino's Bakery has its own parking lot and there is also a 10 min. parking zone in front of the building. Once you walk in there is an array of treats. I decided to go straight for the tea cakes. I ended up ordering three pieces. One for me and two for my cousins. I paid and headed back out. I thought that was the end of my experience in the store. Let me tell you why I headed back, I ended up taking a bite in my car since I wanted to know what a tea cake was. One bite ended up to two bites and in the end, the whole thing was all gone. It was delicious. I ended up heading right back and ordering a couple of more. The nice lady even welcomes me back. I was telling her how good it was and I needed more to share with the world. I really don't even know what a tea cake is but Martino's bakery makes is well. It's moist and delicious. It comes in a great size and for a good price.
