The first time we are here was around 2001 when he was in his old location. Back then without hesitation I would have given the food, the experience and the ambiance an all around five stars. This time around was a disappointment. Our service was great. She was capable, and we got our items quickly. But she wasn't overly attentive. I had the Waldorf salad with mangoes. And for an entree the Jägerschnitzel. The salad taste was fine, but the lettuces were wilted. The walnuts were candied, they felt a bit too sweet with the mangoes. But the dressing was tasty. My Jägerschnitzel arrived and it was already rather cold. One of my bites was rather oily. It was a disappointment. My last schnitzel was the best I had outside of Germany (besides my own kitchen). They were kind enough to remove it from the bill. But I would have preferred a perfect Jägerschnitzel. The other half had the stone crab special, since they're in season. Had the best meal of my life here last summer. Filet mignon & Maine lobster. Lovely restaurant on a more upscale mature side in comparison to their counterparts. Service is absolute 5 star. Food is also 5 star. I had lamb chops: perfect with mint. I had filet mignon: near perfect. The meat itself was so good, medium rare. The side dishes was 4 stars. I loved everything but one thing. Highly recommend for a more serious side, date night, and upscale culinary. If I go back, I'll definitely order Beef Wellington. read more

I love steak houses and when ever I get a chance I go for the best in town. Well tonight was the worst ever dinner and it was saved only by Stephney. The bread was a seasoned bread not a nice hard crust hot Italian bread, the butter was whipped with sour cream I Think and not butter, the potatoes were spiced mashed not to my liking at all. Now for the steak it had a brown gravy that took over the steak. It was really bad. Most steak houses give you sauces on the side but not here take it or leave it is the attitude. The saving grace was at the end of the meal she came over and asked if everything was ok I said do you want to know or are you asking just to get a nice response? She asked I explained the problem how the 111$ dinner was the worst ever, she said she would bring it to the chef and brought a free dessert which was not necessary but was a nice way to tell me she was sorry. It would be nice to serve steak with sauce or gravy on the side let me taste but to put in on a $39 steak because the chef likes it is not acceptable in my opinion. Stephney said there was a discussion about that before and she said it was a good idea. I know that the restaurant has made a name for its self with the way they prepare food but it would be nice to have told me do I could have opted out and had something else. This is as I said a huge disappointment and a waist on money. It will Be a long time before I go there again. Okay, so I have bartended and I know the value of a good tip!!! We typically go to "happy hour" so that we can pay a discount on food and take care $$ of our serve/bartender!!! We went here earlier in the week and enjoyed a great happy hour with a salt and pepper haired server that we took very good care of-and he was a complete joy!!!! We came back tonight to a strawberry blonde- curly haired dude who was either angry that he was at work-working happy hour or angry that his hairline was receding. Either way- we ordered exactly the same thing we ordered with the original server-then had the angry Kat that was serving us try to charge us double the amount of what the bill should've been! He added top shelve liquor to our order, which we didn't order. When we asked him why, he told us they charged us an additional amount to "muddle the drinks". Again- we came to have a good meal/ some drinks and to take care of the server's we will not be back after watching the angry, losing his hair dude mock each table attended, then tried to amp up their bill. Moral of the story-- check ur bill, because mediocre servers will try to screw you over while the other guys are just trying to make $. read more

This place used to be awesome but for some reason there was an almost complete staff change and the new bartender is bossy, rude and barely helpful. I recommend getting a table so you get better service or are at lest treated like a customer. Personally we won't be back until there is a staff change. read more

We were just coming from being on a sunset cruise with our friend who ate here before and wanted us to share the experience. Our server, Tripp, added tremendously to the great experience. The Service was fantastic. We started our meal with a glass of champagne. For appetizers we had the lamb chops and escargot. Both were amazing. For our main dish we all had the Beef Wellington medium rare and it was superb!! The side dishes were spätzle and red cabbage and were also great. The Beef Wellington was suggested by our friend who had it before and everything else was suggested by Trip. I can't wait to return here on our next visit to Key West. There were many other dishes on the menu that I would love to try. This was the best meal we have had in Key West. I highly recommend Martin's if you are looking for a great meal. read more

I only gave the Restaurant two stars because the food was decent. We had one of the worst experiences in Martin's Restaurant in Key West this evening. Our waiter was rude, inexperienced and inattentive. We asked for two separate checks and he said "no I can't do that, It is impossible" We are from California, and it is possible in every restaurant we have ever gone to. He let our drinks sit at the bar until they were warm. We asked him to take a photograph and he said "I'm busy. I"ll do it later." Ten minutes later he only deigned to take a photo when I told him to "forget the photo we can ask the table next to us.". He placed our silverware incorrectly i. e. fork on the right, knife on the left, looking confused as he did it, signaling a lack of training. He never remembered whose drink or meal went to whom. To add to our consternation, he had very bad body odor, noticed by the four of us. His arrogance is reminiscent of haughty waiters in New York City but not appropriate anywhere. We waited a significant amount of time for him to bring the check and more time for him to process it. Our meals were fairly tasty; however, one in our party became ill from her fish order (grouper) and another had stomach pains from his order (yellow tail). The atmosphere in Martin's is pleasant, but our waiter's training was non-existent. read more

Meh, at best. Very bland - not really worth half off happy hour. Mediocre service. Go next door to Nine One Five, which is fantastic.

Martin's was a great break from some of the more touristy places on Duval. First off, the ambiance was quiet and relaxing. To start off, the husband had the Black Forest Salad, which was loaded with yummy bacon. I opted for the daily soup - which just happened to be Lobster Bisque. This was one of the better Lobster Bisque's I have ever had. Often, whenever I get Lobster Bisque, it can be just too creamy or salty for my liking. At Martin's, the Lobster Bisque had more of a tomato base, which gave the soup a nice sweetness, but with plenty of lobster flavor. For the main course, the husband got the Jaeger Schnitzel. We're both suckers for German food, and the schnitzel was light and crispy. I opted for the Lamb Osso Bucco, which was heavenly. The lamb wasn't overly gamey, and came right off the bone. I was expecting the portions to be smaller, given the nature of this restaurant - but actually the portions are rather large, and you get your money's worth. We both had enough leftover, that we had a tasty lunch the next day. We only wish that we had room to have the Banana's Fosters, another one of our favorites. We were looking for s Sunday brunch place and looked at the menu outside Martins on Duval. The schnitzel appealed, and so did the crab cakes. We had had some very disappointing meals on Duval street during our 10 day stay, so didn't have any raised expectations. However the schnitzel my dining partner had was fantastic. I'm Italian and we make schnitzel too. Martin's served up a large, crispy piece, perfectly cooked, tasty and tender. Couldn't ask for more. Being brunch it came with a sunny side egg, and roasted potatoes. He also ordered side of bacon which I was told was crisp and tasty. You could opt out of the egg if you wanted and go with a more traditional serve of salad. We also had the crab cakes- delicious appetiser and I had the Waldorf salad. Also very nice. Highly recommend it. German chief I was told - he knows what he's doing. read more

We went there just for tapas and we really enjoyed our time there. The outside patio is very nice, the service was great. The food (baked brie and Serrano ham) was excellent. Both wines were pretty decent. It is a nice spot on Duval, it is not too noisy compared to other restaurants on the street. I'd definitely go back there next time I'm in Key West read more

We had our anniversary dinner at Martins and couldn't have been happier with our choice. From what I've seen, it's one of the few fine dining "feeling" experiences in Key West, and the food couldn't be beat. The menu was extensive with meat, seafood and some German specialties. I had the black grouper which was fresh, and according to our server "top of the grouper family". He did not oversell. It was the thickest grouper filet I ever had, flaky, moist and delicious and prepared perfectly. Hubs had lamp chops which he loved. We also had spaetzle, delicious, and with the servers recommendation, some mushrooms gravy with it. For me, it was all about the large pieces of mushroom, nicely done. I do enjoy vegetables and we had the vegetable medley with it. They do not treat vegetables as an afterthought here. The quality was superb, large pieces of cauliflower, broccoli, and carrots and not over cooked. Oh, and the martini and wine was excellent too and served in nice quality glasses, leading to the overall ambiance. Thanks Martins. We had a large group at Martin's for my post wedding dinner last week. I will say a few of the guests that came with us are picky eaters. I was pleased to hear nothing but praises for the drinks, food, and of course excellent staff. I highly recommend Martin's and look forward to visiting again in November. read more

I would have to say my dinner was ok at best! My ribeye and Maine lobster were both incorrectly cooked, the ribeye was literally half of it raw and the other half medium/medium well when it was supposed to be medium rare and the the lobster was way over cooked and like chewing a tire! This "high end" of a restaurant should be able to cook theses items correctly! My wife's Wellington was great but there failure on my meal will assure I will not be dinning back here again! read more

Best Martinis in town. Cannot go wrong with 4-6pm 1/2 price martinis and tapas. The service is top notch.

Brian our waiter was arrogant, rude and extremely snotty. He was insulted when his first dish was plopped on the table with not even a peep of what it was then Brian got indigent that he did mean to insult anyone. He then brought out one appetizer even though the whole table ordered an app. When questioned why no other apps were coming out he got very disturbed and stated he was doing what one person asked, knowing he was wrong then to "fix" us he brought out everything at once with a very visibly crappie attitude. He brought an appetizer of Shrimp & scallop skewer which the scallop was so pathetic I thought it was the shrimp skewer so I gave it to my wife since she ordered just shrimp. When Brian the most arrogant server I have ever seen brought out a second on I again questioned him as to the missing scallop he stuck his middle finger out and said it's right there, it was the size of a pearl stuck in a shrimp cocktail. He was a terrible waiter and person. We have dined at Martin's multiple times prior to this incident and as long as staff like Brian and Trip work there Martins will be a huge thumbs down for us and the other dozens of people we travel with. Oh I forgot to mention I operate a global service company, we have over 100 employees in 3 countries and 20 US states and honestly I'd close my doors before letting these two people abuse my customers. Shame on Martin's management for letting these two destroy your reputation. Check all social media and you'll see a once great place has let there bad attitude employees ruin the reputation, Brian drop the attitude and do your job or get out of the service business!!!!! read more
