Have you ever been so hungry, but no matter how hard you tried... You just couldn't decide on what you wanted to eat? On one hand, a nice bowl of pasta bolognese accompanied by a glass of Chianti sounds absolutely amazing. On the other hand, a pair of carne asada tacos, rice, beans alongside a Dos Equis Cerveza sounds just as equally good. ME: (Weighing my options) Is Italian greater than Mexican Or Is Mexican greater than Italian Well.... I'm no math genius, but I'm pretty sure that after this review is all summed up... The answer will present itself! While visiting the quaint little town of Cayucos, we decided to check out Martin's restaurant. Not only do they have ITALIAN on the menu (Mama Mia!!!) But they also have MEXICAN on the menu too!! (Arriba, Arriba!!) Looks like I'm having a glass of Chianti with a chaser of Dos Equis!! ;) That's right! The best of both worlds!! Pizza! Tacos! Ravioli! Burritos! Chicken Parmigiana! Enchiladas! Linguini & Clams! Tamales! Chicken Marsala! Chile Rellenos! And If you still can't decide.... Go AMERICAN and get yourself a burger!!! All I know is.... Next time I'm comin' for breakfast!! As for night we went... Their pizza hit the spot! Their Tacos made me happy!! And their Dos Equis served in a Modelo Glass was just what I needed! Lol Until Next time... Well Done Martin, Bravo!! Ciao. Adiós. Take it Easy.

Oh my goodness! Martin's is across the street from the hotel. We watched the Sheriff pull in for lunch, so we felt it would be perfect for dinner - we were right! We ordered Penne with Meatballs, and Chicken Parm. Both meals were epic! Lots of food. Service was perfect! FIFA was on the TV's - atmosphere was very light and friendly. Price was very reasonable! I would go back - but not right now.... I'm way too full! This restaurant is incredible!

Don't ask these idiots for a combination pizza or you will end up with an all topping pizza that includes pineapple and tomato with no sausage. This could be the worst looking pizza I have ever seen. We typically enjoy Martin's but this is a particularly bad experience.

Just wanted to hop on here to compliment Martin's pizza. Have been coming here for years for their mexican food (enchiladas!!). But had a pizza craving and didn't want to order from large chain, and local pizzeria was already closed for the evening... so gave Martin's a try. Food-Delish! Thin crust and fresh toppings all the way to the edge, Yes! Service - always great Ambiance -warm and inviting family restaurant with booths by windows and tables in the middle. Street parking.

    2 Beef Enchilidas

Ordered Beef Enchiladas and New York Steak Tampicado. Best Authentic Mexican food around. The portions are huge and plates come with beans, rice, and chicken tortilla. Chips and salsa and refillable! Customer service is amazing and the owner Martin is passionate about every dish. They also have Italian dinner options that are fantastic with great flavors. They just remodeled the interior and it's beautiful!

One man at the cash register taking orders. You could read the menu behind him posted on the wall. Very basic options and the interior seating was at 1950s style linoleum kitchen tables and chairs. Probably bought at a flea market. We were crushed. I had a combo platter of one crispy carnitas taco at $23. Ground beef. Very basic and lacked flavor. Outrageous for over $20. Wife had two enchiladas a la carte, cheese and green at $13. Mush. At least we have our memories and hope that someone will come along to resurrect it into at least something close to what was.

He didn't want to add more than chili flakes and a little cilantro & onions because he didn't want to mask the flavor of the broth. It was delicious! Sometimes they get my order right, sometimes they forget the corn tortillas. I called, I'm working from home but I wanted my fix of menudo. I get there and no one is there. Apparently there is only one staff member working the lunch shift on a quiet Saturday at 1 pm on May 9th. Another woman was ahead of me but got tired of waiting and left. I waited patiently because I like their menudo, but only to find out that even though he confirmed Menudo on the phone he not heard soup. The person in the kitchen misgendered me and not having my order ready. This not a great local place and not LGTBQ friendly. And neither employee bothered to apologize. I do not recommend! You lost not just my business but my friends as well.

The tendon comes from the area above the hooves. I request not to have the hoof. This is an ode and a love letter to a people and a culture that took what would have been discarded ingredients and made it phenomenal. Most other restaurants in the area only serve this on the weekend and usually reserved for Sunday, but here it is a daily staple and has become my go to dish. The tripe is cooked thoroughly and holds on to the rich flavors of the both with profound care. And the broth is unctuous and rich while steeped in the history of chilies and patience. The tendon when added in gives a greater depth and silkiness that elevates this dish even further. Of course, onion, coriander and oregano gives it the perfect herbaceous notes and balances out the richness with cool notes. This isn't just a soup, this is an experience that one has to have, that one deserves. To taste the food of a people's is to understand their strength, perseverance, their love and ultimately brings you one step closer to a cultural awakening that you didn't know that you needed.

Here's what we noticed: - The inside is pretty nice, lighter inside than you would expect from looking at it on the outside because of the skylights. The paint inside is a little tired and there's some cobwebs, etc. around but it still had a nice atmosphere. The chairs and tables are a bit tired, but ok. - The menu is pretty broad, and the prices seemed pretty reasonable. - My wife and I decided to split two different meals, the Al Pastor Burrito (which was served with a small salad) and the combo plate of Sofa and Chili Relleno. The portions on both dishes were really good, such that we took half the burrito home for later. They were really loud and basic. We found a table downstairs in the bar as far away from the band as possible. We couldn't even hear each other to talk- other groups were saying the same thing We ordered the calamari appetizer and then the fish and chips for my husband and the seared ahi with wasabi mashed potatoes for me. Everything came out all at once- and no one ever came to check on us. The fish and chips were good, my ahi was nice- but the potatoes were cold and it was covered in seaweed salad I had to pick off. Later I was trying to remember why I ordered the ahi over the halibut or the mahi mahi- looking at the menu it says the ahi has blue crab wasabi mashed potatoes- so that's why I ordered it. I had shared my meal with my hubby and so I asked him if he noticed/tasted any crab on the potatoes. Neither of us did- thinking they left it out. The calamari should have been the appetizer- but everything came all at once- I would rather have skipped them at that point. Hubby had to go up to the bar to get refills- he was gone a long time. When he came back he told me that they had him leave a credit card with them when he placed the order. We weren't drinking alcohol, so this didn't seem necessary. Had I known this, I would have suggested not even staying and finding a different restaurant. Well the bartender said he lost our credit card/ but would try to find it.... um, what!!!! They did finally find it about 20 minutes later. No apologies or anything other than dumping the check at the end of the table.
