My husband and I got sick from eating here on 10/5/22. Sad to say good bye because we are regulars. The flavor of the garlic butter sashimi was off. The albacore didn't look fresh. The last straw was oysters were warm. We ended up having 24 hour food poisoning. Couldn't stay off the toilet, felt nauseous and overheating. First time trying this out. I got the salmon teriyaki bowl, combo with California roll, spicy tuna roll, and a spicy tuna hand roll, yellowtail spicy roll. I recommend the California roll, spicy tuna hand roll, yellowtail spicy roll... delicious. Also happy hoir from 8 to close for drinks. Wow... delicious. I could tell the teriyaki sauce has brown sugar so legit. Definitely a go-to if you're in Upland. read more

They do ayce sushi. Reasonable price around 27 and you can get 2 dollars off if you check in yelp. The fish are all fresh. They even have oysters aa part of their ayce, but only one per person. I love their jen jen and john. They have alot of selection without rice, which is great!!!! Loved their takoyaki as well. Service was ok (not the best). Among all the servers, there was only one that actually is very attentive. Others are either on their phone or chatting with other servers. read more

My party just walked out after waiting 45 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. I called ahead and there was no wait, so we headed over. One we got there, without even asking the size of our party, they told us there was a 10 minute wait. It did take around 10 minutes, but we noticed a party of 4 that came after us was seated first. Once we were seated, no one offered us menus or water. We had to grab the menus ourselves. After looking at the menu, we were all ready to order and no one had visited our table. We waved our arms, said "excuse me", ....literally a small show at our table ensued and still no one came over. At this point, it was clear we were being completely ignored. We tried to be patient and give them the benefit of the doubt, but we called it quits once the table of 4 that arrived after us was served their food before our table had even been offered water. We left and none of the workers came over to apologize or anything. This has been one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. I would be shocked if the restaurant survives long term if the customer service continues like this. Save your time and eat at a restaurant that actually appreciates your business! Good service from Desiree and fish was fresh!!! Hit the spot for a Monday, it's clean and they had a nice selection of Sake for a small place. First time trying this place and I was pleasantly surprised. They stay open later than most places. I had sushi, tuna and salmon and sashimi, next time I'll try some rolls. The Miso was hot and had a slight garlic note, but not sure. It was good. We waited about fifteen minutes for a table but as people were leaving we were seated promptly. Very friendly waitstaff, and vibe was good, they were busy, but we got attentive service when they took our order. This will be my Monday go to when I'm craving sushi. read more

Tried this place back in 2019 a few times and it was 5 stars, awesome! Tried again when they reopened after Covid and it was terrible. Today, I thought we'd give it another try, since I didn't want to drive down to Mountain and 6th (Sumo Sushi, consistently amazing). I regret it so much. They increased their prices, even more than our best sushi place ($36.99 for adults and $21.99 for my daughter). Which is fine, inflation, I get it, but the food quality was so bad. We don't eat roles, we eat actual sushi, and the rice to fish ratio was ridiculous. Each piece was heavy. I couldn't eat it, my daughter couldn't eat it. It was not fresh and had a bad taste. I asked for the check and the lady talked about charging me for all the uneaten pieces. I told her that's not how sushi is done and it's really bad. I'll pay for the 2 All You Can Eats and not order anything else and she said okay and just walked away. Truly terrible sushi. Do NOT order from them unless you are there to check your full order. I have ordered from them three times and no dressing has come with the salad. When I'm in the store I enjoy their salad a lot so I have tried and tried again, but quality of what comes with the Togo orders does not match what's in store. I then asked for help where I was told SIX times to check my bag and look for the dressing. (I got two items, I didn't need to search long) extremely frustrating. Sushi Takumi has the same salad with the great mustard seed dressing and always provides, so pay the extra dollar and go there instead. read more

Very good... we yelped a few places.. this one ended up being our choice. Good cuts, we went by what others said and ordered the honeymoon roll.. it was awesome. Fish was fresh, we did the lunch all you can eat...and it was so good you can eat is a treat. The waiter was offering us other rolls... you don't feel awkward ordering off all you can eat, they encourage you to enjoy yourself... Not a lot of pictures in menu, but good explainations... worth a try... our 1st time here. When I give 4 stars it is really good... It's unfortunate I have to give this place 2 stars because the quality and flavor of their sushi is on point. However, they are lacking in service for sure. We came for the all you can eat but we're told they stopped serving it at 8pm after we already ordered our drinks and that we had walked in at 801. The server didn't even tell us nor was there a sign stating AYCE hours. Thankfully she asked and they accommodated the AYCE but said we couldn't have a 3rd round. Then they wouldn't give us our check because we had 2 pieces of sushi left and ended up charging us a "Left over" fee for the 2 pieces. Sushi is good and very fair priced but as for the Ramen that's another thing.. the ramen tastes like insta cup of noodles, broth is a mix of powder flavor and hot sauce. There were about only 2 other couples. The place itself was nice. Big and lots of space. What we ordered: Miso Soup - Bland, nothing to exciting. Used fried tofu instead. Chicken Teriyaki - chicken was dry, but the sauce was good. Fried Calamari - didn't enjoy it as much. It looked like it was pre-packaged and it wasn't fresh. Came with a honey mustard sauce. Personally, I think they should've served it with the mayo sauce. Edamame - it was overcooked. Popcorn Scallop Roll - they actually served it with deep friend crawfish instead. Pretty good. Crunch Roll - California roll with shrimp tempura. I wasn't too crazy about it. Salmon Skin Roll - I love salmon skin. It was delicious. Caterpillar Roll - I love the way they cooked the unagi but the roll itself was just okay. We had another roll and it was the California roll with baked salmon on top and it was good. Overall, the dining experience was average. I wasn't too crazy over the food but it was good enough that I was satisfied. They put unagi sauce over all the rolls the we ordered. Great Lowkey sushi restaurant with awesome courteous customer service. Originally went to sake 2 me in Rancho Cucamonga but hostess were terrible!!! Open bar and NO ONE sitting there and a 30 minute wait? No way, this is a little far from home but well worth it. Delicious rolls, good hot sake, prompt service and quiet location with a spacious open setting. I got the dynamite roll which actually has mozzarella cheese and onions! MUST TRY. Our overall experience was just disappointing. On numerous occasions we had to flag down someone to come and assist us. For our first order we had half of it come out and after waiting a good 20 minutes we had to ask what was taking so long, not having realized they only brought out half (not to mention a roll we didn't order). On the second order they placed the order incorrectly. Aside from the service, the soft shell crab in two of the rolls was totally off, the fishiness overpowered the rest of the roll. Fish wasn't fresh , they gave us tiny pieces of fish on the rolls, the sushi rice was soaked in vinegar, service wasn't good. Just overall a bad experience. This was our first time. Best one around! Better than any sushi place in Upland, La Verne, or San Dimas. Rice is sound, perfectly steamed, could taste the balance of vinegar and slight seasoning.
