There is a a hidden baker in Fremont that has awesome pastries. Everything is fresh at La More. You can't just walk in and expect to get a cake most of the time. The cakes and special designs are amazing and fresh. They are ordered then a delivery date is agreed upon. Fortunately pineapple buns here are awesome and can last for days. The bakery only uses fresh ingredients and has a well maintained area showing his creations. They have great customer service and the owner is very nice and willing to work with the customer for custom cakes. See image for some buns and a cake we ordered.

La More wasn't busy around 2:30pm on a Saturday. It seemed like a lot of their baked goods were already sold out, but they still had a good amount of desserts available. I liked that their panna cotta wasn't too sweet, and the mango on top was very fresh- recommended! -SL Cheesecake ($5.50, https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=HKQP43e8kNrR744w8Kayiw&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg): Just ok, and the sponge cake layer on the bottom was a little dry. I liked that this cheesecake wasn't too sweet, but it didn't have much flavor. I would come back if in the mood for panna cotta, and to try their other cakes. All staff was wearing masks correctly, and hand sanitizer was available. No indoor or outdoor dining area is available. Parking in this complex can get packed during the weekend rushes, but outside of those times, there should be plenty of spots available.

There is a lot of frosting but it actually works pretty well with the sponge-y coffee cake. Also the pudding is delicious! The texture kind of reminds me of what you would get in a Taiwanese convenient store, super soft with a lot of black sugar flavor. Overall will definitely recommend to get any cakes from here with pudding. Have been hearing a lot about the taro cake which I am looking forwards to trying next.
Got to try the egg pudding, taro & chocolate cake a few weeks ago. The cake consisted of dark chocolate cake layers with taro cream with egg pudding layered in between. The top of the cake also had a few spoonfuls of egg pudding centered in the middle as well for presentation. In terms of flavor, I thought the dark chocolate and taro paired together really well. Never would have included egg pudding in a cake, so that was quite creative. A nice combination overall and worth a try if you like less sweet cakes.
Initially, I was excited to come here as other Yelpers posted amazing photos of their breads and cakes (esp. the taro pudding chocolate cake & Totoro themed goodies). Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The bread options were very limited (most of the display cases were empty) and service was quite lackluster. I called ahead of time to see if there were open on New Years Day ... the phone just rang and rang and rang. We showed up around 11:30am and luckily, they were open. It appeared only 1 person was working and as I was buying my bread, I heard the phone ring a few times and the worker just ignored it. When I asked whether they were going to have more breads coming out, he just shrugged and brushed my question off :( I bought their Taro bun bread, pineapple bun bread, matcha red bean mochi bun, milk cheese bread and coffee cheesecake. Breads - 3/5 (good flavor, but on the dry side) Coffee Cheesecake - 5/5 (rich, decadent, cheesy and creamy coffee flavor). This is the reason I didn't give then 2 stars instead. I hope it's just because I came here during the COVID-19 pandemic that's why their service and goods are limited. I'll give them another shot post-pandemic.
My mom frequently buys bread here and I just labeled this place as any other typical Asian bakeries out there, but come to actually think of it, this place is hands down so fresh and delicious. First, my favorite thing to get from here is their white toast. It is so fluffy and fresh. $5 Of course, you can't go wrong with the other pastries and breads they sell, but it's not much different than what you would buy from other places. Second, their taro pudding chocolate cake. I was very surprised by this cake. So unique, fresh, and super delicious. Never had anything like this and it was mind-blowing. You must get this cake. I got a 8in cake and it came to $45. A bit on the pricey side but definitely worth it for a birthday!

I thought the price was decent since the other instagram cake shops would normally cost 80-100. I wasn't looking for anything fancy just wanted a good tasting cake. La more selivers exactly that! Cake was light and the taro paste was awesome like how it was tasted from my childhood bakery. All my friends also enjoyed this! I would come back for more when I crave taro cake again!

Chef Carlos is very nice and professional. He took time and explained to me about the mango mousse cake that I have ordered. The cake is so beautifully made, and the taste is perfect! Not too sweet, and I love the taste of fresh mangoes! Unfortunately I didn't take the cake out to get to the room temperature before eating it, so the mousse part was as if I was eating ice cream (my fault), but the sponge cake itself was so moist. I'll definitely go back to this place to order more cake in the future. And because he wants to insure freshness to his cakes, pre-order is required.
Long overdue review - we got our wedding cake here ! Carlos is a dream to work with- a true artist, dedicated to his craft, honest and thoughtful. He was willing to work with a design and frosting/cream that I wanted and was flexible about delivery. It was a couple years ago but his cake was a huge highlight at my wedding, personally and amongst my guestsI also love the breads here !
Just got my 2nd cake order at La More. It's a special birthday peach bun design for my mom, and my mom loves it. Baker is professional and very nice person. Coffee cake and egg pudding inside (can pick own flavor). Will come up with different designs next time. This place became my favorite bakery for different occasions.

I tried a chocolate honey moon cake here. It was priced at $5.25, which is what I expected to pay. However, upon paying and receiving the receipt (credit card receipt only), it said $5.40. I thought it might have been tax, but then I asked for an itemized receipt, and it turns out they charged a $0.15 cent credit card fee! The cashier did ask how I was planning to pay, cash or card, but never mentioned anything about charging a credit card fee. One would think they would have signs stating there is a fee when using credit cards, but I didn't see one. Anyhow...besides that, I didn't feel as if the chocolate honeymoon cake bread was worth the price point they are charging. I'm not sure I would come back. Skip. read more

They made a beautiful and delicious cake for my son's first birthday at a very reasonable price. We went with the taro pudding filling and it was a big hit with our guests. The cake was a little heavy so the gentleman working even helped me place it in my car. I Facebook messaged them a photo I found online with a few tweaks and they were able to replicate the look I was going for. If you have a very specific vision for your cake then I would suggest making a rendering of what you want. read more

Pineapple bun was acceptable, the dough was adequate but I wish they had more fillings inside, the version at Pineapple King (SF) is far superior. Pork sung roll were adequate. read more

La More makes this special taro pudding cake that it is known for. I have wanted to try it for a long time and finally got one last week - super yummy. I like the combination of taro and pudding because they balance the taste and texture out. 6 inch original flavor taro cake - $28, if add pudding - $34. Original has two layers of taro, and with pudding means you will get one layer of taro and one layer of pudding. read more

This review is for their cupcake. I notice they sell cupcake and pork floss cake which arent always fresh. When bake good isn't fresh, they will have black mold dots appear. I don't think they should continue to sell these products when they are more than a day old or there's mold. Their made by order whole cake didn't have this kind of issue when I ordered from them in the past (if the whole cake also has mold that's scary). I hope they pay attention to what they are selling to their customers read more

Good place for cakes and Asian breads. The owner is the only one working there. He is the one that is baking the breads, making the cakes, and ringing up customers. Cakes are really good but it contains too much cream for my liking. Next time I order a cake, I will ask if he can make it with less cream. The white toast here is good. Other breads here are a bit too buttery for my liking. Prices have increased like many other places. read more

Heard lots of great reviews and noticed that this cute little bakery promotes no preservatives so we have decided to give them a try to get a cake for my son's first birthday. Luckily we went there 2 weeks before the big day as were planning to buy a cake to sample it out (yes I craves for cakes all the times and usually will purchase a whole cake instead of just slices), yet to learn all whole cakes must be preordered minimal with a 2 weeks advance notice!! The person who took the order (thinking his the owner?) were very patience and nice, answer my questions thoroughly with professional suggestions; as initially we planned to order a taro cream egg pudding vanilla cake (yes you see it right, egg pudding!! Like the topping that you can get for your boba drinks ) a regular fruit on top one or if they have other kid designs that may match our Totoro theme. Then to learn that they does special fondant cake order, so just did a quick search through google and ordered the design (as picture). Awesomely it looks exactly the same, or maybe even better, than the picture provided!! We didn't get the pudding added as per the "owner" fondant is too heavy and can crash/smash the pudding. Overall the cake was delicious, taro cream have real taro chunks and was perfectly not too sweet, the vanilla chiffon cake was ot too sweet, light and fluffy, everyone (my son, the grands, husband and I) all loves the cake. On the day we made the cake order, we decided to purchase the rolled cream cakes to give them a try. They are a bit expensive ($11 or $12?). But hey if seriously no preservatives and uses fresh ingredients, it really does work the price. We bought 1 matcha with redbean cream roll and one chocolate/mocha with chocolate/mocha cream roll. They both soooooooo fluffy, not heavy (omg I finished 1 slice of 1.25 inch thick of each in less than 5 minutes!!), was perfectly gently sweeten. Haven't really try their buns, but for sure their cakes and roll cakes are awesome!! For the roll cakes, they have taro, chocolate/mocha, matcha redbean, and sesame flavors (I think they also have just regular vanilla cake cream one? Don't remember at the moment now). read more

We were so happy we chose La More cafe to make our daughter's 4th birthday cake and cupcakes! Carlos was absolutely lovely to work with and made the order process easy and seamless with prompt responses via Facebook messenger. I sent him a picture of the idea that I wanted for the design and the end result blew us away and our cake was gorgeous! I absolutely loved the birthday cake and pumpkin cupcakes with both the design and the taste. We went with a 6-inch vanilla cake with half sugar -- which was the perfect taste for kids. I received a lot of compliments as well! I would recommend La More Cafe to anyone, and I can't wait to come up with another event to get our next cake from Carlos! read more

This is the only bakery in town that I feel safe ordering pastries and cakes without guilt of having preservative or too much artificial ingredients added to them. The pastries are made fresh daily and always so yummy. The cake has to be pre-ordered and every single time I received compliments of the freshness and how delicious was the decorated cake. The boss Carlos made beautiful cake, He is so artistic and always take extra effort to make the decorations shine..I am so happy and will keep going back..Very Happy. Thanks Carlos! read more

A perfect birthday cake for my 4 years old who specifically asked for a Unicorn birthday theme. Really good and sturdy box for packaging. The cake is really light and moist too. read more
LA More has some really delicious bread. -1 star simply for the price. I got a green tea red bean mochi bun for almost $3 (price almost like 85 degrees) and a honey bean bun for $2.25 (it's a pineapple bun topped with a little sugar, almond and with red bean an mochi inside). The green tea red bean bun had a green tea bun with the exact same inside, red bean and mochi. Seeing the honey bean bread, I was interested in what that was, but it's just honey and red bean. There's a good variety of breads in the bakery so I would visit again, to try out the mango bread, which was sold out when I got there midday. Plus, I do love red bean and mochi and they give more filling than 85, so I'll be heading here for that fix. read more

First time here today. Love the pork sung bun. This is going to be my go-to Asian bakery. You can taste the freshness and know that it's not those buns that has been on the shelf since forever. I do appreciate the effort that the baker put in to make sure the freshness of the food :-) Their coffee cake is yummy too.. the texture is a bit on the thicker side thou. read more
