They are always VERY friendly when you go there. They remember your face. They're always packed during lunch but I've never had to wait for a seat. Mary's Kitchen is great for home-cooking type of food. If you are tired of seafood, go here for a change. I have been to both the FWB and Destin locations a few times, and both have been great every time. They have the right combination of good food, great service, and good prices. Well lunch was going great. My wife had the country fried steak and I had the grilled pork chops. Food was delicious until we spotted a cockroach walking across our table between our food. We then showed the waitress which she smashed it with a napkin. She stated that they always come out on the table we were sitting at. She also said they sprayed twice a week. When paying, the manager, I think Jane asked if everything was ok, I said my wife was freaked out about the whole cockroach thing and we didn't finish eating.She tried to play it off saying Well we do live in Florida ,but she did say I tell you what I will not charge you for the sweet teas. This is a locals place. The portions are great and the prices are reasonable. The servers are friendly and SMILE, they have fresh cakes and pie that look awesome and one day I may order that first as I never have room for dessert and usually need a to go box for half my meal. We have seen Mary's for the year and a half that we have been coming to FWB, but we have never took the opportunity to go in and have a meal. Too bad, they are very good. Went with the family. Food was classic southern. The table had corn fritters as an appetizer. They were very tasty.... Crunchy outside and moist center. We also, had the fried chicken and the field pork chops. The family enjoyed all. The sides ... Greens, Mac and cheese, cheese grits, mashed potatoes, rice and gravy were all great. We didn't save room for desert, too bad the pies and cakes looked great. We will make this a regular stop in FWB I would recommend this for families. Great value! read more

Amazing BBQ!!!! The atmosphere is very ma, pa small town diner. I had the pulled pork sandwich dinner with French fries and Mac and cheese. The French fries were awful and the Mac and cheese was a little over cooked, but I would have gladly paid for 5 bad sides to get that BBQ. The pork was served to the side of the toasted bun so you could load as you pleased and not have to eat a soggy bun (ask restaurants should do this). The bbq sauce was a little tangy and very good. The pork though can stand on its own. Wonderful flavor. The meat fell right apart as you forked it on the bun and was so savory and juicy. I topped the dinner off with a slice of the peanut butter and chocolate pie. Extremely rich but delicious. If you are looking for BBQ this is THE place to go. read more

Long wait and it wasn't worth it. The fried chicken was bad. One meat was cold and the other one was hot. And just doesn't taste good. The sides look sad and unappetizing. The mac & cheese look soooo dried. We heard other customers moaning about it too. Pulled pork burger was ok but nothing to shout about. I have been eating Marys Kitchen for many years. It use to be called Rays Barbecue. Well I love this BBQ and the sauce is perfect. The sad thing is IMO the quality of the food here has went downhill over the years. This use to be the go to place for BBQ and sides. Out whole family would eat here as a big treat. Not anymore though, the quality/flavor is just not there in the food anymore. I will say they have kept the amazing sauce recipe the same. So you can still get a really good pulled pork sandwich if you can get the meat "on a good day". read more

We ate here for the first time today! Food was great. My husband ate pork chops, and i had the BBQ sandwich. I didn't care for the baked beans the server recommended though. But, everything else was good though! Service was pretty good too! I will be eatting here again. We have been going here for almost 4 years and I was very disappointed tonight. Every since one manager left the place has gone down hill. The service was horrible, the food took 30 mins to get out.... Really?! We can usually get in and out in the amount of time... When we were cashing out, the lady asked how everything was and when I told her the food was really slow coming out, she said nothing. I find that to be rude, at least apologize. The floor was sticky from the front door all the way to back.... Gross! We will not be back there for a while and it makes me sad because they had such great food for reasonable prices. read more

We were told this place had awesome bbq. The person lied. It was the worst pork ribs I've ever had. Couldn't even eat it. There is no way those ribs ever got close to that smoker they have out front. The tea was decent and the cole slaw was good,the waitress was great! The bbq sauce tasted like ketchup with a little vinegar pour in. I did read reviews before we went so I was hopeful. More like 3 1/2. I tried this place for the first time today, I got the special. Fried chicken and two sides (I got mac & cheese, and mashed pot.) with a piece of pie. I loved all the diff types of homemade pie available. (It's my fav dessert.) The food was pretty tasty. Especially the sides. The pecan pie was great and I would go back just for pie. All in all a good little spot to grab lunch. I highly recommend the pie! The one complaint about it would be a slice of pie is like 3.50. That's ridiculous for one slice of pie. Very friendly staff. We used Yelps! Top dining lists and saw this in the top 20. We went on Saturday at about noon. Yeah, I should have know when I saw all the handicapped parking that the demographics would be the direct opposite of a chuck e cheese. The server was super friendly, customer service was spectacular. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and found it slimy and fatty. It tasted good, and i will order one again when i lose my teeth. My wife had the catfish and she loved it. My daughter didnt eat her grilled cheese. The bread was too tough. I took a bite and thought it was delicious. With sodas and juice all the way around, our bill was about$30. It was nice and quiet eating with the sweet seniors that had us outnumbered. read more

I enjoyed the food a week prior so decided to get take out and tried ordering the appetizer sampler with ribs and chicken and the lady on the phone says "we dont have an appetizer sampler...have you ever been here before..?" I said "Yes I was there a week ago and got an order of a something with ribs and chicken" and she goes "no we dont have anything like that..." Oh my god, what a B!
