Cauliflower crust Mary's Combo
Cody A.

Sunday dinner was very nice. Well staffed. The placed was bright and clean. Highly recommend the house salad. It's fully loaded and not your typical "house salad". We enjoyed a small Mary's combo pizza on cauliflower crust (yum).

Mary's Classic Side Salad to-go

Greeted and seated promptly for Happy Hour. The Zucchini Blossoms are delicious. Unique and lightly battered, but nicely bathed in red sauce. It is an excellent appetizer! We always have to have their signature Mary's Salad. Always! And get either their Bleu Cheese dressing (or Bleu Cheese/Italian combo dressing.) My entree, the Ricotta Pasta Alla Vodka, had a slight kick to it, but left a lot to be desired. It could have used more red sauce, as well. (It has zero protein, BTW.) I should've went with the Lasagna. All of their pizzas are very good. Mary's Combo is our usual go-to, with loads of toppings and the best crust. Mary's is a neighborhood staple that could use a tad more warmth. Ample parking adjacent to the Safeway.

Margherita & Burrata Pizza

We usually order the Mary's combo pizza but I was craving for margherita. Did not disappoint. One of the better margherita pizzas I've had in a while.

Spicy buffalo wings with blue cheese

I have driven by this place for many years so I decided to finally stop in. I got my order to go. I walked in and my order was taken immediately. I sat on the bench near the front door and waited. Very shortly, my buffalo wings were brought to me, and I was told that the pizza would be coming from the counter. There was plenty of seating, even though I was told that it had been a busy day for them. The seats looked like they were not crowded on top of each other, and there was plenty of lighting. I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly my order arrived. The pizza was delicious. The middle was a little wet, but I'm sure it has to do with the abundant toppings. The crust was just perfect. The edges were great and the center wasn't under cooked. The buffalo wings were tasty, but probably would have been crispier if I had eaten them in the restaurant.

We stopped at Windsor on the way home from a Northern California vacation, hoping to check out Mary's Pizza Shack. We always enjoyed the Mary's in Walnut Creek, but it was an unfortunate casualty of the pandemic. This Mary's had something special I wanted to try: a low carb Cauliflower Pizza crust! It had been months since I was able to enjoy pizza, as low carbs are not one of pizza's selling points! The cauliflower pizzas are only of the 12 inch personal size with thin crust - but beggars can't be choosers. My wife ordered the calzone, one of their specialties. The cauliflower pizza wasn't bad at all! Of course it didn't help that I was salivating over my wife's thick crust calzone the entire time. But the fact that I could actually eat pizza on my diet was a great thing. This Mary's was great: fast, friendly service, nicely spaced tables and good atmosphere. Fine stopping point on the way back to the Bay Area.

Came in on a cold winter night. The seafood ravioli is great. It was a special I had to get as soon as I saw it posted outside.

We decided to share several dishes family-style, which was the perfect way to sample a variety of menu items. Every single dish was a 10+ in my book! The food was absolutely delicious, and I can see why my friends keep coming back. The service was impeccable from start to finish. The restaurant was easy to find, and I loved the charming décor it felt like a genuine Italian restaurant with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. One of my favorite surprises was the Limoncello Spritz. After a day of wine tasting, it was the perfect light and refreshing drink to end the day. Great food, outstanding service, and a wonderful dining experience. I'll definitely be back!

At one point my girlfriend and I were walking from the outside courtyard where the dinner was taking place toward the inside of the restaurant, innocently looking for the restrooms. Some employee with a beard, without saying a word, aggressively steps right in front of us to block our path, as if we we were two homeless people trying to walk in off the street. Doesn't ask "can I help you find something"? or do anything that a cordial person in the restaurant business would do. He just stares at us with a stupid smirk on his face. Seriously, clown? After a couple of awkward seconds, I ask where the bathrooms are and he finally points them out to us. What's worse, at the end of the night, my niece was leaving with her husband when another female staff member rudely told them they couldn't exit directly out the parking lot (even though it was the same entrance where people came in at beginning of the party) and actually grabbed my niece's arm. My niece told her "don't touch me." This staff person then went inside the restaurant and my niece heard the employee screaming in anger. Incredible that this is how their people treat their customers during a huge event. The owner should be completely embarrassed by their employees' unprofessional and rude behavior. They might want to get their employees some anger management training or better yet hire new ones that have experience in the hospitality industry. Until then, pretty sure we can get good meatballs and lasagna some place else that doesn't treat paying customers like garbage.

We were seated immediately, but it took about 10 minutes before anyone came to our table to ask if we wanted drinks. My husband ordered a beer, I ordered a soda, and we placed our food order at the same time. We ordered a pasta dish and a steak with fries. We finished our drinks before the food arrived, which took about 35-40 minutes. During that time, no one checked on us or offered drink refills. Unfortunately, the food was just as disappointing as the service. The pasta was overly salty and lacked any other flavor. The steak was ordered medium but arrived well done. Before leaving, we ordered a dessert to go, and the portion was surprisingly tiny for the price. Overall, the service was slow, the food did not meet expectations, and the dessert was definitely overpriced. Based on our experience, it did not live up to the excellent reviews.

From the outside, it's a pretty unassuming building. When we walked in, I got more of a diner vibe than an Italian restaurant. The décor is simple and straightforward without a lot of frills, but we were there for the food, not the décor. We were seated almost immediately, and our waitress was friendly and laid back. She also let us know that we had arrived just in time for happy hour, so naturally we had to order some drinks and appetizers. We tried both the red and white sangrias, which our waitress had made fresh that day. They were refreshing and hit the spot. To start, we ordered the calamari and shared a Caesar salad. We also enjoyed some of the house focaccia bread. For our entrées, I chose the Lamb Ragu while my wife went with the Pappardelle Bolognese. Everything arrived in a timely manner and came out hot and fresh. The calamari was crispy and well prepared. The focaccia was good, although I would have preferred it served warm. The Caesar salad was flavorful and the perfect size for sharing. The lamb in the Lamb Ragu was cooked perfectly, and the pasta had a great texture and chew. The Pappardelle Bolognese was hearty, meaty, and equally well executed. Portion sizes for both dishes were just right and satisfying without being overwhelming. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and had a pleasant dining experience. My only critique is that both pasta dishes could have used a little more seasoning, particularly salt, to make the flavors pop a bit more. Aside from that, Eddie's delivered a good Italian dinner with friendly service and good value.
