Landed here to try something different out as my husband was in the mood for dumplings. He ordered the Lamb and Onion Dumplings, while I ordered the Salt & Pepper Shrimp. Both of us ordered the Shrimp Fried Rice to share. The Salt and Pepper Shrimp was absolutely fantastic, crunchy with just a slight kick of white and black pepper, with some sautee dried red chillies which you can choose to consume or not (I did - delicious!). Hubby said his lamb and onion dumplings were very comforting but could use a little Salt and maybe a kick of spice. The STAR of the show was the Shrimp Fried Rice - it was sooooo super comforting and delicious. Simple, yet complex in its flavors. Absolutely LOVED the shrimp fried rice and would highly recommend. The jasmine iced tea in a bottle was floral and refreshing! I definitely wanted more! The lady who was our server seemed to be doing everything but was still super sweet and got our food out as quickly as possible. Her service was impeccable despite being the only one there! Lastly, it's a small and cozy outfit but it's super cute and interesting inside. One wall spans messages and art work from diners and the other (the wall we sat near) has a really cute mural painted on it. Overall a fantastic experience, and would definitely come back for more!

Ordered a ton of food and even had leftovers for 3 for a total of ~$150 (no alcohol/dessert aside from my amazing Thai iced tea). The food was incredible and perfectly cooked/seasoned/oiled. Really kind service and attentive. Smaller place but I enjoyed the mom and pop ambiance. I'd definitely come again, thank you!

Sometimes you just want good casual Chinese food that you can either dine in with friends or order takeout/delivery on a random night. Not the massive platters you get from a heating tray like at Panda Express or any of the mom and pop Chinese restaurants that follow the Panda Express model but an actual Chinese restaurant that serves legitimate entrees and dishes for either dine in or take out. When you're on the mood for that kind of Chinese like I often am on a random weekday night, Ma's Dumpling House is the queen. If you're like me and you like to occasionally eat in an actual restaurant with real service, you'll love Ma's. Just know that it gets crazy busy at diner time. But the lady who serves as cashier, waitress, and buss lady is super nice...and will get you server as quickly as she can. The food at Ma's is exceptional for casual Chinese. I usually get the Mapo Tofu, some sort of soup (like one of the egg drop varieties), or an appetizer like crab rangoons. It's all delicious. This is my go-to whenever I'm craving Chinese.

Got a variety of dishes to try, but the dish that was super good and stood out amongst the party was actually the chicken green beans. The other dishes were okay/decently good. I just wished the fried fish fillets were crispier since the sauce was good. The breading was on the softer side.

Excellent service and delicious Chinese food every time!!! If you are undecided about what you want you can always ask Mary the owner for assistance.

The food was absolutely delicious! We had the pan-fried dumplings and the meat dumplings, and both were so flavorful and fresh. Me and my friend tried this place for the first time, and we're definitely coming back. The vibe was so calming -- I was actually able to sit down, enjoy my food, and have a real conversation with my friend. The service was great too; as soon as we walked in, we were greeted and taken straight to a table. We felt all our needs were met, and we'd love for everyone else to check them out! Highly recommend!

Lunch special

Came for lunch on a Wednesday at 11:40 am and the restaurant was empty so that is not a good sign. Ordered two lunch specials, beef and broccoli and sautéed fish and both portions were small. The beef was good but the fish was tasteless. During our entire time there, only two other people came in. Not sure how this place can stay in business with such a low turnout. Lastly, it was a warm day outside and restaurant didn't turn on fan or AC so it was very uncomfortable to sit and eat. We won't be coming back.

Ma's Dumpling House (a change in ownership) We've been coming here off and on since the Pandemic. The place is same with opposite wall balancing the wall art (other than pictures of dishes). We were quickly greeted and seated. Not too many good Chinese restaurants in North Orange County. This place is decent but dishes tends to be super salty and the sauce on the crispy noodles was out of control. The dishes we like best are the stir-fried string beans and chili oil wontons. The pan fried dumplings and green onion pancakes are okay. Lastly, we like the art on the wall, the depictions of cats doing various things. Always brings a smile to our faces.

One of those classic Chinese spots with the decor to match, making me feel instantly at home upon entering through the bamboo curtain doors and sitting down at our lazy susan table. The menu has Asian American cuisine, as well as some more traditional dishes, and they definitely did all of them well, with some stand out dishes as well, super memorable even for someone who primarily eats Chinese food! We got around 7-8 dishes, but I ate it so fast and forgot about the pictures Standout dishes: Salt and pepper fish was mostly everyone's favorite! The crisp batter was seasoned so heavily with white pepper and they stir fried each piece in onions, garlic, and jalapenos, perhaps more. It was almost burning hot and the fish was so juicy and flaky. Some places under season their salt and pepper fish or it comes out too soggy. Definitely not here! Honey walnut shrimp had a very thick fry, thicker than anything else we ate, so it was a tad too heavy for me. Everyone else loved it though, and it came with lots of walnuts and large prawns and a thick glaze that was almost creamy. Very sauced up for sure. My personal favorite which took me by surprise was their mapo tofu. It had no pork in this dish, but the sichuan peppercorns and thus the mala was absolutely amazing. The silken tofu was swimming in their sauce, definitely didn't feel like they cheaped out on the sauce base by using a packet or anything, and it was absolutely delicious and to me, a hard find at many Chinese spots. We also got a stir fried beef and pepper dish, forgot the name because we ate it so quick but it was pretty good. Got the steamed buns and the steamed dumplings, both were standard, would probably never get the buns here again since they seemed super lackluster and plain, the dumplings were juicy but also eh, contrary to the name of the place. House fried rice came with pork and chicken was also yum but normal. I did appreciate the fluff though and it wasn't particularly spicy. Nothing crazy! It was just one guy working the front so it was a little hard to get his attention, but to me, that's pretty standard for actual Chinese spots. While there were no points off there, I did find some hairs in my rice, which was really nasty. That aside, there were no issues with our meal and they also served tea in a big pot which is a huge green flag. Overall, I totally would come here again and would recommend this spot to hit your craving for Chinese food!

Strawberry Milk Tea: contains no strawberry, no milk, no tea.

Both dishes I ordered were overly salty. The strawberry milk tea contained no strawberry, no milk, and no tea. It appeared to be made from a powdered mix.

Throughly enjoyed dinner at Ma's Dumpling House. Hot and sour soup was my favorite, so flavorful and great balance of spice and sour soup. Wontons are just as yummy and sauce was really tasty. Dumplings were just as great and hit the spot for what we were looking for. Overall the restaurant is cute and cozy, great for family dinner. Service was great, everyone was helpful and friendly, made for a nice dinner night.

We decided to try Ma's Dumpling House after our go to place nearby changed to different ownership. We were greeted & seated immediately upon arrival. The food was excellent and freshly prepared. The sauce in the Hong Kong Pan fried noodles is perfectly balanced. I wanted to smear it on everything! Pan fried pork buns were fluffy, tender with a crisp base. The filling was perfectly seasoned. The salt & pepper fish were crispy, flakey and very addicting. Overall a great experience. We found our new go to spot for excellent Chinese Cuisine

I noticed the change in name from Min's to Ma's . . . When did the change occur? Are the recipes the same?

March 2020. New owner. They have the same dishes but in my opinion the new recipes taste better.

It was called Mins. Is it changed to Ma's?

Yes!

Do you serve beer and sake?

Nope, I don't think they serve beer or sake. At least not on the menu.

Does this restaurant offer vegetarian Xiao Long? Not to be confused with a potsticker- as is also described vaguely as "dumpling". If not, does anyone know where to find them!?

No they don't because I have asked before ?

I can't find your restaurant?

Please go inside the Euclid plaza where the 99 Ranch Market is, we are only 4 doors away from the 99 ranch market. We right right next to the UPS store and the 365 Days Dentistry

I can't find your restaurant when I am in Euclid St?

Our restaurant is located inside the Euclid Plaza where the 99 Ranch market is, we are only 4 doors away from 99 Ranch market. When you drive inside the plaza, go to 99 Ranch market, we are located next to the UPS store and the dentistry. Thank you!

They also have a large menu displayed, which was helpful since I wasn't confident pronouncing some of the item names. I was able to easily point to what I wanted. I visited on a weekday morning around 10 AM and only had two people ahead of me. The service was incredibly fast--we were in and out in about 10-15 minutes. Everything looked fresh, and the prices were very reasonable. What really stood out was the customer service. The gentleman taking orders was extremely friendly and patient. While we waited, he even gave my young daughter a complimentary egg tart custard, which was such a thoughtful gesture and completely made her day. I brought home several items for my husband, including some of his favorite dim sum dishes, and he absolutely loved everything. The food was fresh, flavorful, and tasted just as good as many sit-down dim sum restaurants we've visited. Based on the quality, prices, and speed of service, I can imagine this place gets very busy on weekends. Going on a weekday morning was perfect. We'll definitely be back. If you're looking for delicious takeout dim sum without the wait and hassle of a traditional restaurant, this spot is absolutely worth a visit.

A restroom is available. Our party waited approximately 20 minutes for the food even though the restaurant was only half full. [Menu]: Yelp's top highlighted items are Kurobuta Pork Soup Dumplings, Braised Beef Noodle Soup, and Pan Fried Pork Dumplings. *** Kurobuta Pork Soup Dumplings (6 pieces - $13.50): The skin was a bit thicker than I had expected and the broth had an average flavor. Steamed Chicken & Corn Dumplings (6 pieces - $13.00): I should have read the menu more closely as these steamed dumplings contained corn and I certainly wasn't expecting this ingredient. They tasted alright. Shrimp with Pork Siu Mai (6 pieces - $12.50): Ironically this appetizer order was probably the best of the three, but damn hefty price tags for 6 small pieces of pork siu mai. *** 3-star for the food but bump down due to (1) the food took a long time to prepare (20+ minutes) despite this being a fast-casual restaurant and (2) the portions were small relative to the somewhat expensive prices. This is the most disappointing restaurant I have experienced out of all the restaurants I have visited that are part of the Chubby Group.

This helped us get a table much faster than we would have than if we had just shown up and waited. We ordered the large family meal, and there were 12 of us. We also ordered the Newport Lobster, fish fillet with black bean sauce, and an extra shrimp fried rice. Overall, I think the food was good, and the prices are reasonable (except the lobster, which was pricey, as you might expect from anything listed as "market price"). Most of us in the group thought the fish fillet with black bean sauce was the best. I thought it was very good, but not necessarily fantastic. (There are other Chinese restaurants that do it a little better.) The sauce was very good, but the fish wasn't quite as tender as it can be. Definitely a solid 4 stars. Other dishes were good. I think the scallop soup could have been great for some people, but my wife and I both hate cilantro, and there was a ton of cilantro. The pork was also good, and my friends thought the clams were also really good. I found the fried rice a bit bland. And for both the lobster and the crab, they could have made them a little easier to eat by cracking the shells a bit more for us. I hate fighting with my food ... And there was a fair amount of fighting on these 2 dishes. The lobster cost almost much as all the other dishes combined. It certainly looked amazing. And the sauce was very good. But I found most of it a bit overcooked. Maybe it was our fault for asking for a big one. Maybe a smaller lobster might have been cooked a little less. The great sauce (along with the fighting with the shell) might have covered up the fact that the meat was actually a bit tough and rubbery. I don't think I'd order this again. The service was very friendly and pretty fast. And, again, other than the lobster, the pieces were pretty reasonable.

Our servers were attentive and friendly. I think it helped that my friend was a familiar customer. We came on a Monday afternoon around 11:30 and It was early enough where parking was still available. We ordered the classic dishes, including salt and pepper fried pork chopsand salt and pepper fried shrimp, but the taste this time around left a lot to be desired. These two dishes lacked the crunchiness and flavors that these fried entrees are supposed to showcase. We found the pork chops to be dry and tough, as if it was prepared a while ago and sitting out for some time before it made its way to our table. The shrimp was not impressive either. At least the shaking beef or bo luc lac was good. The beef chunks were tender, and the flavors were on point. Bonus points for the broth that is complimentary during lunch. Also the complimentary orange slices were a nice touch to end our meal. We'd still return for the lobster and noodle when the occasion comes up.

One of the draws of eating here are the colorful lit lanterns in the evening. However, we ended dining here in the late afternoon while it was still light out. The inside of the restaurant was pretty much empty and it was a nice day, so we dined out on the patio. Even in the daytime, the colorful lanterns are cool to look at and there is a park area right next to the restaurant. The patio is wide open and completely in the shade. This was a late lunch/early dinner for us, so we just ordered a few different items off the menu to share. Their small sushi menu only has four different rolls and they were out of two of them, so we just had a California roll which was fine. The only sushi protein available is shrimp or krab so I definitely wouldn't recommend them for sushi. We also had an order of the chicken egg rolls. They had a good crisp on them, and the serving size was generous and very filling. The sweet chili dipping sauce had a good mix of sweetness with a little heat. They tasted fine, but it seemed like they were pre-made and lacked a little freshness. Finally, we tried an order of the spicy shrimp wontons off the dim sum menu. It comes with ten wontons, and the shrimp were good but the wontons were a little mushy. They had a nice heat that slowly creeps up on you after a few seconds. Service started out ok as we were able to place our order within ten minutes, but it then got progressively slower. I think there were only two other occupied tables and our three items took almost 25 minutes to come out. After the food arrived, we didn't see a server again for quite a while. Final rating 3.6 stars. These are the times I wish Yelp let you use half points because this experience was right in between 3 and 4 stars. I guess I'll round up to four stars for the relaxing patio and ambiance which is probably even better after dark.
