Went here with family for an early July 3rd "dinner". We went early in the afternoon, in a small group and with a child. The restaurant was very accommodating, considering we had a toddler in a stroller with us, and the food was fantastic. Unlike some AYCE (or however it's meant to be spelled?) restaurants, the quality of sushi, and variety available at Masa is excellent. The rolls are well made and not stuffed with rice and little fish. The Sashimi is also very fresh, and just about everything except tuna, and eel can be ordered as sashimi, which is just awesome. For the the appetizers I highly recommend trying their BBQ squid, and calamari. My one complaint... they don't have a sister restaurant anywhere near me. read more

Love Sushi Kingdom down in south Jersey they have the same ticket method all you can eat rather than wait till they put food out. LOVE the ticket method and don't know of many places that do this. Had no idea Masa did this and glad I found them recently. Just write on ticket what you want and how much and comes right to your table. Sushi was fresh and came out relatively quickly as compared to Sushi Kingdom that seems to take some time even if not crowded. The appetizers of fried calamari, katsu, and shrimp tempura were very good and nice sauce. All were nice and crispy. Not a fan of the chicken teriyaki, seemed cooked chicken with sauce rather than marinated chicken and grilled which is preferable but not bad. I think Sushi Kingdom also does it this way. No offering of beef teriyaki. Now for the sushi and sashimi were excellent have no complaints at all. They were super fresh and a good size. I guess my only slightly negative review were the rolls. They were not as good for some reason. Not saying they were bad but had better. The soft shell crab instead of being crispy was slightly chewy and the others were good just not great. I will have to go back and try them again. I am definitely a fan of this place and will be back as long as prices remain reasonable. read more

I've been here a few times, but my experience today completely outweighs all others. 45 minutes for food to come out with not one server checking on us. Their excuse was that the waiters & chefs take breaks! I was appalled. I guess my purse should have taken a break then too considering we didn't get served nor did anyone even attempt to check in. I timed it & when asking for a check it took them 35 seconds but when asking for a server or food, it took almost an hour ‍Trying to get their attention for 45 minutes was unreal. Amazing sushi with inconsistent service. The All You Can Eat Sushi is high quality and absolutely worth the price and visit. I have been here three times, and each time, the food was outstanding. They give you a paper menu to write which options you want at what quantity. There's a charge added to ordering too much food you can't finish at the restaurant. Only the first time I went were the appetizers brought out before the main entree, which was annoying. And there have been a couple times when everything we wanted wasn't brought out (they missed it on the menu or they forgot). But honestly, the sushi is so extraordinary, I have to come back. The Eggplant Sandwich appetizer is definitely a must. Hope that the service is good because the food is too good to pass up. read more

Having the "All you can eat" dinner in this restaurant. They have some dishes for dinner only which is pretty good. It's a little expansive than the "xxx palace" but the food quality is better. It's worth it to pay more to get a better quality and fresher food especially raw fish. read more

The food is very decent; I have absolutely no complaints here. But overall, it's just not a place where you can enjoy yourself. The waiters are gloomy and always in a hurry. The tables stay dirty for quite some time before someone has a time to clean them up, which does not look good. We sat at the bar the last time, so we watched the food being prepared, and when they are done with the plate, they actually always put the order (the menu that you fill in for all-you-can-eat) RIGHT ON TOP OF THE FOOD. The sheet of paper that has been on the table as you were filling it in ends up on top of your order soaking in whichever sauce covers your rolls. Then the waiter removes it and brings the plate to your table. Another thing: the waiters and chefs take breaks to have something to eat, and they occupy two or three tables in the corner of the room. So one of the guys actually took his shoes off, lay down o the bench near the table, and was playing on his phone. How do you like that? You are having dinner, and there is a person 5 feet away from you with his shoes off as if he were at home on his couch. There was a plastic bag on the table next to him, and some clothes lying around also... I understand that it's just a small sushi place in a shopping mall, not a posh place in the center of Princeton. But these guys lack basic culture when it comes to serving food and welcoming their guests. read more

I love this place. I go here all the time! I only come for the all you can eat sushi, so I can only speak for that menu. It's a nice menu, definitely a lot of options. The quality is really good as well, considering it's in Princeton. It's not the best sushi place I've been to, but I'd honestly say it's one of the best in the area. The service is quick, and the servers are friendly. Sometimes they don't bring you everything you ordered, but just take note and re order it. The appetizers on the all you can eat menu are really good, which is a plus. I highly recommend the pork buns. All you can eat can get pricey if you go as frequently as me, but they have many different platter deals that are decently priced. Depending when you go, there can be a very long wait. I absolutely positively LOVE masa sushi! From the chicken teriyaki to shrimp tempura rolls. They have a lunch all you can eat special for just $18.95 and a dinner all you can eat for just $25. To top it all off its BYOB, HELL YES!! My friends and I go here at least once a month. Great food, great atmosphere, and BYOB. What more could you ask for. We ordered the lunch special which was 2 rolls with soup for under $9. The quality of the fish was great and the servers were attentive - attentive until it was time to pay the bill. We got the check but they never picked up the bill until we asked them to take it which was 30+ mins later. I didn't mind because I was having a good time and we weren't being rushed out but it's good to know for when I come back. read more

Came here for lunch to celebrate my daughter's high school graduation. I had an inkling when I asked for a table that lunch is not going to go right. I was told there's a 20-30 minute wait for a table. We decided to wait. There was actually a big table just finishing up right after we talked which was good. Five minutes vs 20-30 minutes - big difference. The waiter just didn't know what he was doing. He's going to drive away customers and looking back I wished we did. Ordering was done through phone and very confusing. He walked me through it till check out and we waited... and waited... and waited. No food was coming, so I asked. He answered with a question. "Did you fill out the form?" How on earth would I know that? All the time that we were there and he didn't even bother to check on us. It's his job to wait on us!!! We were quoted a wait for 30-45 minutes for a table for 2 and we ended up waiting more than 75 minutes - without getting seated. What happened to first come first served? The restaurant overall had a very modern type theme. Very clean and put together. We were sat by our waitress with a minimal wait time around 10 minutes. The restaurant has an all you can eat service for $24.95 per person. We were first served appetizers which came out within 5 mins of being seated. The calamari was excellent while the spring roll shared the same excellent taste. Next came edamame and Shumai, overall was okay at best. The Goyza was next that came with a sauce that completed this appetizer, it was delicious with a perfectly crisp crunch. The chicken udon soup came as well and it was not the best but the seaweed salad was very good packed with flavor. Soon came the main course which was; sunshine, rainbow, pink lady, Mexican, crazy tuna, Kyoto, kamikaze, Phoenix, and Godzilla rolls. I've tried 6 AYCE Sushi places in NJ, and this is my absolute favorite. I haven't been to any of the other spots since 2013. We go here twice a month (by ritual, sometimes 3 times) and we're regulars here. The staff is very attentive and quick, and the cuts of their sushi are fresh and top-of-the-line for AYCE. They have a plethora of rolls to choose from, from classics to specialty rolls you won't see at other spots. Our favorite roll is a hidden menu item called "Tahiti Roll" and we get 2 rolls of them each trip. Give this place a try if you're looking for quality and authentic sushi. The prices may seem steep but it's well worth it every time for us. read more

Delicious, not the most creative sushi. I keep going back time and time again. Definitely get the mexican roll and the tuna nuta. Use the call ahead seating option when going on a weekend night, the wait can get quite long. A "reservation" is only a call ahead option, you'll still have to wait when you get there, but you go to the front of the list when you walk in. read more

Not impressed with the sashimi selection. Miserably limited. Squid was not fresh, taste very fishy and slimy. Service wasn't great. Constantly had to flag the wait staff even though we were there on a Monday night and it wasn't crowded. The rolls weren't impressive either. Sounds good on the menu but came out looking and tasting the same.Karange or fried chicken was not tender, hard as rock and overly fried. The only thing worth eating was the egg plant roll which was delicious. Too pricy for theor offerings. I rather drive a few minutes further to sushi palace. This place offers a regular menu as well as a fixed price all you can eat menu offering a cheaper price for lunch than dinner, but even the dinner price seems reasonable. Our party of two had the all you can eat menu as we sat for a late lunch. You are given two sheets to mark. One contains hot foods and the other all manner of sashimi, sushi and rolls. We sampled miso soup, steamed dumplings, hibachi vegetables (they also offer chicken and other foods as well as a kids menu). We sampled several sashimi, sushi and rolls. The fish was fresh and the flavor palates were delicious. We did prefer the more spicy rolls over the others, but that might just be personal preferences. We did have to wait for tea because we were told the cups were being washed, but the tea, itself, was quite good. I will rate each thing individually. Service: The wait staff Is great they are nice and friendly. They are not rude like at other restaurants. Food: The sushi GREAT! This is where most of the rating goes. I have been to a lot of different sushi restaurants. This one is one of the better ones I've been to. They have great lunch deals and it's affordable. The sushi was fresh and cold. I have been to places where the fish was warm. Not good. One down side is the miso soup. I have had better however this isn't saying it was bad just not amazing. Cleanliness : you can tell the owner take pride in keeping this place clean. We walked in and you could smell how clean the place was. Atmosphere: The restaurant is not to big I would say it is a good size for a sushi restaurant. They music is nice and relaxing. The background noise was not to loud too.
