Drove 30 minutes from North Myrtle Beach only to keep us waiting at front desk for 10-15 minutes. Then one of the staff showed up only to tell us they do NOT have a single table for 2 people. The one we could see had reserved sign on it. She said it was reserved. Right when we entered 2 people walked out and nobody else walked in except us. But the lady said everything was reserved..! Too sad these people do not keep open tables for walk-ins. Walk-ins are NOT welcome here...! read more

Pathetic service, so pathetic that I wanted to cancel our main course within 5 minutes of ordering it. Here is a snapshot of my findings of this place: 1) Ordered veggie sampler, which arrived in about 15 minutes. It was cold and when we asked our server, she got snotty and said everything is made to order. The onion pakora in the sampler looked double fried. Then after arguing for a few minutes, she gave in and got us replacement platter, which were the right temperature. 2) when the server brought the chutney serving bowls, one of the spoons fell at the table(which did not have cloth or paper) along with some chutney. She simply picked the spoon and put it back in the chutney container. :O. She did not even clean the spilled chutney. :( 3) Ordered Masala platter, two of the items were undercooked. Two of us ended up taking chewed food out of our mouths. Mind it, this was still probably the best dish that was offered(BTW, salmon was missing). 4) Ordered two paneer entrees and both tasted exactly the same. I try not to give such a bad review to a new place before giving them another chance but I don't think I'll ever go back to this place. They need to train their staff better. P.S. There was a group of 8 guys( I believe they were speaking gujju), who were extremely loud and obnoxious. If these guys want to survive, they need to separate the drinking section from family restaurant. read more

First time eating Indian food for both my husband and I. The food was AMAZING! We are big food critics and this was by far one of the best tasting food we've had. I only rate restaurants that are 5 stars and this place made the list! Very authentic feel to the restaurant, food wasn't too spicy (I don't do spicy!), And everything came out perfectly on time. Service was amazing and our waitress was friendly, quick, and very prompt. Also tried the mango Cosmo which I am now obsessed with and husband tried long island ice tea which was refreshing. Wanted to try dessert but we were too stuffed after dinner! I ordered the chicken platter as I wasn't sure what I would like for my first time and it was bomb. Husband ordered butter chicken which was too buttery for my tasting but he enjoyed it. We even filled up 2 boxes of leftovers to take home. Portions were great but maybe next time we won't order so much food so we can leave room for Indian dessert. Overall, impressed and definitely coming back to this gem! read more

This place is absolutely fantastic. Went for Sunday lunch, wife had a Murg Aloo Chole, never tried before and she loved it. I did the same with the Chicken Korma. Wife asked for not so spicy and I asked for medium heat and both were just right. The meal came with a basket of naan bread and it was fantastic. We had tried the Garlic Naan on a previous visit and we liked it a lot, but the regular which accompanied the meal was even ore to our taste, buttery and yummy! We cannot wait to come again and try other things on the menu. Masala will definitely be on our regular restaurant rota! We went here on recommendation of Yelp "Hot and New" I am so glad we did. It was perfect from start to finish. It is truly authentic and probably some of the best Indian cuisine I have ever had period. I had the honor of being the first customer at Masala Myrtle Beach when they opened the previous restaurant years ago on Kings Hwy. I always thought they had the best Indian food on the Grand Strand, but I moved away three years ago back to my hometown. I was here for the weekend and heard from friends that they had moved to a new location, and I had to get my fix before I left. The new location is great. There is plenty of easy parking, which was an issue at the last location (some may remember backing your car out and praying at the same time that you didn't accidentally back into US 17, none of that here!). The furnishings and decor are elegant, and it has such comfortable seating. The service was excellent, but the food was where this place shines brightest. A couple of us had the house special mughlai korma, and the other had chicken tikka masala. The medium spice level was actually medium aka has a nice kick but is does not induce profuse sweating and panicked grasps for your glass of water. Excellent mango chutney, basmati rice, and of course fresh naan bread. Also, the owner explained each dish and sauce to us thoroughly, which is interesting to know as you peruse the menu and try to select. I was recommended to go here by a friend and it did not disappoint. We came for lunch and got there a few minutes later it opened at 12 pm and there was only one couple ahead of us. The menu seems to be the same for dinner and lunch as well. The interior was very neat, with exposed stone and colorful Indian artwork. We had a delicious appetizer, don't remember the name but was so tasty with the chutney reminiscent flavor. I had a Mango cosmo and my date had the cardomom Gimlet. Both were perfect companions to the meal. Later we ordered Kama sutra, mix of wine vodka. You can actually see real saffron floating in the drink. Hands down. We ordered signature dishes accompanied by salad bread and rice. Overall very flavorful and delicious. I highly recommend this place and you will get out your Indian food comfort zone! read more

My dad and I came here for his birthday and it was spectacular. Dad has been a few times and, having traveled to India a lot, is picky with his Indian food. But this place really stood out to both of us. We had the biryani special, butter chicken, saag paneer (spinach with cheese), a lamb dish I can't remember the name of, garlic naan, and homemade mango ice cream. Dad had a mango lassi and I had a nimbu pani (lemonade). This was all with the intention of eating well for his birthday and having plenty of leftovers. :) The food was fresh, flavorful and served at appropriate temperature. Service was lovely and the restaurant clean. The restaurant also seems to be taking appropriate social distancing measures, spacing tables and making sure their servers are wearing masks. Great food, fast service for how busy it was, and great drinks. My husband and I got chili paneer, paneer makhani, and Hyderabadi chicken curry. Only thing I would say is that we asked for Indian spicy and it was not as spicy as we would have liked. We like VERY spicy food. I highly recommend to get the cheese naan with garlic!!!
