Dinner tonight: Masa's Special 1, Omelette Sashimi, Striped Bass Sashimi, White Tuna Sashimi, Rainbow Roll, and a Buffalo Grove Roll. So much sushi and sashimi, so fresh and so delicious! My favorite is the white tuna and their salmon. It's always so cold and fresh, I can hear the delicious "crunch/snap" of the fish. Hubs loves the tuna rolls because they're mostly tuna and the clam sashimi aren't chewy one bit. Masa Sushi is a small, unassuming, and unpretentious sushi restaurant with very limited seating AND the most friendliest owner couple you will ever meet! This does not mean the quality of the sushi or the intricacies of the artistry to the rolls are poor. THE FRESHEST SUSHI EVER! The portions are generous and yet still delicate to be a couple of bites. It's not mostly rice like many of the sushi places nearby. Masa Sushi uses the rice just as vessel to hold the fresh fish, not as the filler to make the portion look bigger. The couple who owns the restaurant are so sweet. They're passionate about their business and treat their customers like they've known you forever! My husband and I don't order too often from here, but they still greet us like we were just there last week and ask us about our sons (not just how are the kids, but how are your 2 boys).

Fantastic, fresh sushi and I believe it's family owned. I believe it's the best sushi place in BG and their prices are very reasonable.

Glad that we did because by the time that we left at 7 o'clock the entire place was packed. It is located in a strip mall with other restaurants and parking is very ample. So this should not be an issue. When you walk into the place, it is super modern in style and current music is blasting over the loudspeakers. The sushi bar prep area is also open invisible which I think is very nice. There's lots of different kinds of seating as well throughout the restaurant. The menu is very extensive as far as all the creative and special sushi rolls that they offer. So there is something here for everybody. As you can tell from the menu, it's probably not the most authentic sushi experience however it is probably a fun and creative one. The owners, I believe our Korean hence when we ordered the beef bento box, the beef that came out was definitely not beef teriyaki but rather the beef that is used for beef Bulgogi. The food overall was very good so no complaints there. In fact, the kitchen even brought out two small free tasting appetizers if you want to call them that for myself and my friend. They were also very delicious and creative. We were here celebrating a birthday and the automatic rolling waiter came out with the waiters and server singing, happy birthday along with birthday sword balloons, and you get a free ice cream with a candle. This was more than enough and very sufficient. The staff was very, very nice here. Our waitress was super friendly and funny as well. My only complaint here is that when we ordered the bento box, we learned that if you order white rice versus the standard fried rice that comes with it, there is a three dollar up charge. This makes absolutely no sense because rice is first cooked to be white then it is messed up to become fried rice so if anything there should've been a three dollar down charge. Come to this restaurant if you're in the area for sure and if you want some creative, fun sushi rolls definitely. This place is fairly priced and what I would consider modern American sushi.

Vin 90 has a pretty wide variety from pub grub to sushi. Prices are kind of high, which is the only bad thing about it. The menu still has a few items that aren't as pricy though. About the only bad thing is the prices, especially on food. It's not bad on some things however. Take a look and there will be some good ones. It's about $12 for the cheapest cocktails. Really not bad for the fancy suburbs. Of course we got a few. The best was the Spicy Orange Mule. Probably the most interesting and unique Mule I've ever had. This was Orange vodka, ginger beer, and lime with a kick. Because we're pretty cheap we got the cheapest food on the menu just about. The Maki rolls are about $5 or so. Much better than the $65 Lobster Rolls. We got the Avocado and Cucumber Rolls, and these were probably about as good as those, just saying. Proves you can cheap out here. The rolls were a pretty good amount for the cheap price. Could check this place out some time again. It has cheap and very expensive items. There's something for those on a budget or for those who can spend whatever.

I don't expect to be able to get burgers, tacos, pasta, and sushi at the same place. Additionally, during prime time on a Friday night there were only two other tables occupied. When you see that at a sushi place you start to wonder about freshness. My concerns seemed to be unfounded, but it does get you thinking as to why aren't there more people here.

My family and I had been wanting to go to this location for a while and a recent weeknight presented a perfect opportunity to check out this establishment. Located in a small plaza in front of the Westin hotel, this Chicago Ramen is a nice little spot for grabbing a delicious bowl (or two) of ramen. Upon our arrival, we were seated promptly. Our friendly server provided the menus and shortly after was ready to take our order; however, we were not ready yet and took a bit longer to order. The menu was a condensed version of what I have seen at the Des Plaines location. There were six Ramen options, a handful of appetizers, extra toppings options, and beverage options. Also, there was a Ramen special menu and a Kids menu. A few minutes later, we placed our order of 1) Edamame, 1) Karage, 2) Shrimp Wonton Ramen, and 1) White Miso Ramen. The apps of Edamame and Karage came out soon and the ramen bowls followed shortly. The Karage were freshly cooked. The Karage were chunky, meaty and plump chicken nuggets. The meat was juicy and tender, and they were lightly battered. The flavor was decent and the texture was okay. I felt that a bit more frying would have helped it taste better. My Shrimp Wonton Ramen was the start dish for me. It was everything I wanted as far as the flavor of the broth and the texture of the noodles, shrimp, and wonton were concerned. The broth was hot and fresh. It had a nice savory flavor and I added some of the table side condiments for extra umami and spicy taste. The noodles were of the right texture where they had body and good slurp-a-bility factor without being soggy and sloppy. The White Miso Ramen was a nice creamy and rich broth that came loaded w/ cuts of pork that were tender. It was also delicious. I enjoyed my bowl of ramen a lot and managed to finish it instead of having leftovers. It hit the spot perfectly. We had a good experience and would go back. If you haven't been to this spot, then definitely check them out.

However, it has been our go-to place for ramen takeout for some time now, this review is focused on their takeout ramen. After about two years' time, we have narrowed our preferences to the Red Miso Ramen with Egg and the White Miso Ramen with Egg. Both ramen comes with a big piece of Cha-Shu (pork), bamboo shoot, and green onion. The Cha-Shu is very tender and flavorful, and the egg cooked just right. The ramen noodles are bouncy with the right texture. When it comes to broth, the White Miso Ramen is definitely a winner over the Red Miso. I found the broth of the Red Miso a little too thick and there is a taste that makes it less pleasant than the other. There is ground pork in the broth of the White Miso, which adds flavor and complexity to the texture. Portions used to be very big, and I used to have leftovers. However, recently portions have shrunk and I could finish the entire bowl of White Miso Ramen with Egg in one meal with no problems. It would not be enough to feed someone with a bigger appetite than me. They had made a couple of mistakes in our takeout orders a year ago. Since then, they have been accurate with the orders and timing has also improved. I am pleased to have Chicago Ramen in our neighbor town, and a bowl of tasty ramen is so close by. I just saw that they have added Shrimp Wonton Ramen (and two other items) to their menu recently. Next time I might give that a try.
