Really cute sushi restaurant that's focused on to-go orders and offers large platters for a great price. There are a few tables in the shop if you want to eat there. I stopped by for lunch and their lunch specials are all under $10! Really fresh fish and expertly made sushi. I thought the rice could use a little more flavor and texture, but everything else was great. All the staff are super friendly and kind. Would definitely recommend giving them a try! I'll have to try the other items on the menu, they've got katsu, udon, and much more. read more

Dinner tonight: Masa's Special 1, Omelette Sashimi, Striped Bass Sashimi, White Tuna Sashimi, Rainbow Roll, and a Buffalo Grove Roll. So much sushi and sashimi, so fresh and so delicious! My favorite is the white tuna and their salmon. It's always so cold and fresh, I can hear the delicious "crunch/snap" of the fish. Hubs loves the tuna rolls because they're mostly tuna and the clam sashimi aren't chewy one bit. Masa Sushi is a small, unassuming, and unpretentious sushi restaurant with very limited seating AND the most friendliest owner couple you will ever meet! This does not mean the quality of the sushi or the intricacies of the artistry to the rolls are poor. THE FRESHEST SUSHI EVER! The portions are generous and yet still delicate to be a couple of bites. It's not mostly rice like many of the sushi places nearby. Masa Sushi uses the rice just as vessel to hold the fresh fish, not as the filler to make the portion look bigger. The couple who owns the restaurant are so sweet. We just ordered out for lunch. I got three shrimp rolls 1) Spicy Shrimp - was not spicy and we think, not even shrimp. We had no idea what it was. However, what it was was inedible. 2) Shrimp Tempura - if there was tempura, it was mashed and mixed with the mayo which made it look like it had been sitting in the fridge for a couple days. No crunch whatsoever and made it look like multiple day old guacamole (icky brownish color). 3) Just plain shrimp roll which was very fresh with huge hunks of shrimp. I wish all my rolls were this way. My wife got a poke bowl with tuna, rice, avocado, cucumber and cilantro. However, they left out the avocado most likely because she told them no avocado in the rolls. Learn how to listen maybe? It was a large bowl, so we could have shared (had I liked tuna, avocado, or cilantro), but now knowing the size of this portion lets us know that (if there is a next time) we could easily share the bowl. Moral or the story: Go somewhere else for sushi. This place has gone downhill. read more

Takeout sushi that's made to order. Great value if you want to save on the dine-in experience but still get high end dining quality sushi for a few bucks less. The price often has us choosing to carryout and eat at home/park but end up full and satisfied over finding a sit-down sushi restaurant because the value is that good. The classic tuna/salmon rolls are all great (spicy tuna crunch is probably my favorite). The sashimi is generous on the fish/rice ratio but we still end up with more of their delicious rolls (Bella/Baja rolls if you like cilantro). Just make sure you call ahead to place your order so you're not left waiting. read more

Ordered here a few times now - the pricing is a little expensive here with many rolls over the $10 range, but the quality has been good! Good fish to rice ratio. No issues so far, even with special orders (like requesting no sesame seeds and no wasabi) so we've been happy with the service. I went here on a trip to Chicago, which is where I am originally from. This little hidden spot. Does not deserve to be hidden when it has very good sushi at a very reasonable price. We found this place while we were looking for some sushi one night and found that our regular spot was closed. My family and I were so happy with the sushi that we had food excellent and the mother, father and son Trio that worked was great super nice and super friendly. The only thing I have to say about this place is that chicken teriyaki was a bit overcooked but i'm not removing a star because of that since they did take it off or refunded the money because we said it wasn't that good if you want some sushi come here. read more

I personally think they have the BEST spicy tuna (the chopped up, small chunks of tuna mixed with sriracha sauce, scallion and sesame seed oil kind) rolls and spicy tuna nigiri (please see photo)! I also think Masa's makes the BEST double shrimp tempura lettuce lite mayo rolls! For a $100, it's truly possible to have a MEGA, pig-out shameless sushi binge fest. As for the sashimi, I was not too crazy about them. I prefer to stick with their rolls, and spicy tuna and unagi nigiris. The owners are friendly/adorable, place very clean and prior to Covid-19 shut-down back in March, they did have a few tables (each accommodating four chairs) available enabling people to eat in. I believe their business is mostly all take-outs. I do want to mention they can miraculously hustle fast with the food orders, even when they get slammed with phone take-out orders!---my experience for average wait when ordering in person was about under ten minutes for orders of four to five rolls. Thought my review from two years ago needed an update. We order from Masa roughly every two weeks. There are rolls we like and rolls we love. We had a company party and we ordered from Masa and it was a huge hit! There were zero rolls leftover! I ordered from Masa last night and it was a 90+ degree day in late September. She had filled a bag with ice and put in my to go back to insure that the sushi stayed cool. That's great customer service! read more

Horrendously overpriced for what you receive. They also clean some of their utensils in buckets outside--not sure how that is sanitary. When I ordered chicken teriyaki the cook came and took it from the freezer in the front of the store with his bare hands. Also not sanitary. Again, buyer beware. read more

Not bad sushi for a takeout place in the burbs. I ordered the sushi combo B, seaweed salad, house salad, and 3 pieces of sashimi a la carte. The sushi combo B was at a pretty fair price, and the fish was fresh and tasty. The a la Carte sashimi cuts were where the gold was, though. A bit expensive, but you are definitely paying for the thickness of the cuts. The seaweed salad was very measly, as was the house salad, which only contained lettuce and carrots...otherwise, this was a filling and healthy meal for one person. This place does only carry out and I have to say that I only come here because of the convenience factor. It is 30 sec from my condo and when I don't feel like going anywhere nice and when I know I want to settle for below par sushi- I come here. What I DO like about them is that they never mess up my order, very friendly over the phone and when I come in they always greet me with a smile. Plus, it takes them like 10 minutes to make 4 rolls, so that's pretty fast if you ask me. Onto the sushi, it's very reasonably priced and the rolls have a decent amount of fish which is a plus. What they do wrong is over stuff it with rice? Just why cover up wonderful and fresh fish with an exorbitant amount of rice. I do have to say i enjoy the philly tan roll with shrimp tempura as my guilty pressure. (i usually stick to the raw stuff elsewhere) So overall it's an a okay place if you're not sushi snobs like my husband and I, and we come here once or twice a year when we're too lazy to go anywhere else.
