Went to Sushi Grove as a treat for my son who is slowly making me broke by eating a ton of sushi. So of course made sense to try an AYCE sushi place. Parking is super easy, it's in the corner by the Bowlero. Looks like the area was updated to a more modern white/grey color pallette. Inside was very nice and clean. The sushi itself came out relatively quickly. They have a lot of written rules with the AYCE sushi (which is fair considering). The sushi itself was OK, no major stand outs. Decent ambiance and service, better than expected food. Went at 6:45p on a Friday as a party of 6 with a reservation - seated promptly. Took a few minutes for a slightly harried server to take our initial order, but she was nice despite being a bit stressed. Food wasn't exactly prompt in coming out after each time of orders, but it definitely wasn't the extended wait some have complained of in their reviews. I was expecting too much rice on rolls, but if anything they were light on rice -- good flavor, and sashimi definitely was above average for a basic sushi joint. Came across this sushi place when I was searching for AYCE sushi in the neighborhood. They have a smaller AYCE menu compared to other sushi restaurants but the price was also lower ($19 for Saturday lunch). Kids pay based on their height. For reference, a 90cm kid pays $5.5. We did not order the all you can eat and instead ordered various items from menu. I started with the Miso Soup which was excellent. very flavorful and not too salty. The Gyozas were also very good with a tasty dipping sauce. I then had sides of Shrimp and Seaweed Salad. The Seaweed was very good. The small Shrimp were overcooked and not great. Red the reviews about their AYCE sushi and decided to give it a try. AYCE for adult was $25.95 for dinner and for kids they charge by height. You are given a menu where you can choose appetizers, maki rolls and then sashimi (2 pieces per roll ordered) With the appetizers we tried the miso soup, hot/sour soup, agadash tofu, edamame, crab Rangoon and sesame balls. The miso soup was standard, nothing amazing and nothing bad. Hot and sour soup could have used more sour to it but had a decent heat and overall was ok. The agadash tofu was quite bland with little breading. Edamame could have used more salt as some were salted and others not. The crab Rangoon also were pretty standard. The sesame balls had the chewy mochi like texture you crave but the red been left a little to be desired as it was not very sweet. Overall the appetizers were ok. The sushi itself was pretty good, specially for AYCE and the selection was quite decent. The sushi itself was pretty good, not high grade of course but pretty good. The rolls had the right ratio of fish and other fillings, to rice and not overly sauced. We tried the volcano, spider, shrimp tempura, salmon/avocado, Philly, deep sea and red dragon. All were pretty good though the lettuce in the spider roll was strange. Service was great as our waitress was friendly and would always ask if we wanted to order more whenever she would stop by. Overall our party of four was there for an hour 15 min? When we received our first order, there was a roll that was missing. What was strange was how long it took to get just that roll. I thought they would have expedited that one roll but it took another 15 minutes or so. Overall it did take quite some time to get our orders ( we made two orders overall) but we enjoyed our meal. The sashimi itself we stuck to the salmon and tuna. Both were decent but for sashimi a higher grade is preferred so we went back to the maki after that. My teenage daughter had a taste for sushi so some Internet research while she was shopping with a friend lead me to Sushi Grove. I was temporarily confused because when I followed Google Maps to the restaurant, there was a 2nd sushi place in the same area. We found Sushi Grove and appreciated the AYCE lunch! The girls tried everything from miso soup to cucumber salad and I lost track of how many sesame balls on top of their rolls of choice. I had vegetable tempura, gyozas, spring rolls, sushi rolls, and I attributed to the ungodly amount of sesame balls eaten. Our waitress was kind and attentive despite appearing to be working with not much support. She checked in about drinks often as well as additional food. I've been going to Sushi Grove for eight years now, but I can no longer recommend this restaurant. I have been disappointed at the quality of the food and service in my last few visits. Today, I went to Sushi Grove with my family and we had to wait over 40 minutes for our food to be served. When it was brought out it was no longer at temperature and did not taste fresh. One other couple came at the same time as us, they finished their meal and left before our sushi was served to us. Our server never explained the delay or apologized for the wait. Service still somewhat slow. On a Sunday lunch, the three of us had AYCE and were there for close to 2hrs. Not because we got 50 plates of sushi. In fact, we each got 2 plates, 2-3 rolls each time. We tried coming here last night (Friday) It was going to be next to Impossible to get in or be an extraordinarily long wait. So we opted for lunch today. While the menu is smaller for all you can eat so was the price so that was a bonus! Our sushi was delicious! The rice was nice and fluffy and the seafood was very fresh! Although their "spicy" is a bit more than I'm used to, it wasn't too much. It's a cute calm place and pretty quiet for as crowded as it was. Our server was very attentive and very nice! I wish I could be writing a better review as the staff were so nice and trying so hard. Unfortunately, things have gone way downhill since moving locations. To start, my friend and I stopped in on a Saturday night with no reservations. We were told the wait time was 20 minutes and 3 people were ahead of us. We checked the status 1 hour later to find out our wait time had increased another 40 min and 2 people were still ahead of us. When we complained we ended up getting seated faster. It was very disorganized and chaotic. We ordered a bunch of different items to try as we were doing the all you can eat option for a price of $26. The appetizers were tasty and mainly fried. They forgot to bring out my soup and salad which I had to request be brought out. After a lot more waiting the sushi came out. I was extremely disappointed. The tuna had the texture of sandpaper and was not fresh at all. I had to literally suffer through eating it so I wouldn't be charged. Finally it came time to pay and they ended up charging the cards the wrong amount. I really want to give them the benefit of the doubt but from start to finish it was a truly bad experience. After Sushi Grove closed temporarily during the construction of the Clove (formerly Town Center), we eagerly awaited construction of their new location. After many months they finally had a soft reopening on August 1, 2023! Woo! We ordered takeout via the phone on their first day back in business, but you can also order online through their website. We received our order within the time frame they stated, but we can see that they were super busy, even for a soft reopening. Many bags of takeout were being prepared and there were many tables seated in the restaurant. We ordered 4 bento boxes and everything was prepared correctly. The sushi tasted fresh and portions are great for the price. The entrees like chicken teriyaki, beef teriyaki, and salmon teriyaki were all terrific. Prices are also reasonable for both takeout and for the AYCE. We are so glad they reopened and are happy to this option back in our town! Go visit and support your local small business!! Pro tip - to the prior poster who was blasting them for running out of food during their first day back in business during their SOFT reopening, that's the whole point of a soft reopening! I visited this restaurant on Sun. May 31st. We had to wait for about 25 minutes which was ok since it was Sunday dinner. We decided to go with all you can eat. When we were seated, the order form was given. So, we checked what we wanted to have and handed them to the server. After some time later, our first order came. However, my order didn't come. The server explained to me that my sashimi order had to be ordered with the rolls. Why didn't she tell me when I ordered it? Was it her first day? So, I had to order one more time to get my dinner. By the way, the server didn't give us the chopstic or sauce bowl. When we saw she provided them to other table who came way later than us, I felt there's something not right. The server went by our table many times but she didn't reliaze that we didn't have anything. Then, we waited a good 20 mintues afterthe second order form was given to. So, my duaghter asked her when our order would be coming out. She replied she could ask the kitchen if we wanted her to find out. What did she mean we wanted to find out? We asked her cause we wanted to have our order. Her job was to find out and tell us. I didn't see that she was feeling sorry for our order coming late. Of couse she didn't really stop by how we were doing anyway. It was my birthday that my kids wanted to treat me for dinner. The food was ok but the service was not good at all. I didn't want to leave any tip but my daughter was treating me so I had to let her tip the server. I wouldn't go back there for the experiece that I had. They runed my birthday dinner! Good sushi, my favorite AYCE for the northern suburbs. Ambience is nice, and they have a lot larger menu than other AYCE in the area, including premium appetizers. My first three times the service was very slow, but during lunch on my last visit appetizers came out within 10 minutes, and the sushi followed 15 minutes later. Spicy crab salad and the takoyaki are my favorites for apps; seaweed salad, miso soup, and edamame are all solid choices too. The salmon and tuna rolls are solid. Most of the special rolls have spicy fish, cheese, or are deep fried so I haven't found one too love yet. The ISO yuki roll is the go to, but I wish it were smaller. read more

I recently came here for the second time. The first being over a year ago and having an okay experience. Last week was much different. We came in for a late lunch and they were not super busy. We put in our order within ten minutes of being there and we didn't have to wait long for appetizers. However, we wanted about 45 minutes for our sushi order. It was frustrating because there were tables that came in after us and had sushi before us. No one should have to wait that long. I did ask several times asking what the holdup was and offered to just close out our check for what we had rather than wait longer (I had two hungry kids with me so I didn't want them to have to wait any longer). Luckily from then, it finally came out. It was about 47 minutes! The sushi was fine. Not the best, not the worst. And same for our waitress but there was no "sorry for your wait" which would have been nice but I think we will just head to the other BG sushi places from now on. read more

As all deals like this, you have to order a roll for each order of sashimi. 3 out of the 4 of us start small with 2 rolls and a couple pieces of sashimi. One of us goes all in right away with 4 rolls and some sashimi. He is pro by now. You have to eat it all or they say they will charge you.
