When I heard my sister raving about this little place, I didn't believe her. She took me to prove me wrong, and I've got to say- the Mashawi salad is AMAZING! The first time my husband and I tried Mashawi, the food did not sit well. It took a few months for us to give it a second try and since then the food is always very good. I took 1 star away for the service. The only person who seems welcoming and appreciate of customer business is the lady who seems to be the manager. I tend to stick with the Mashawi salad, the lunch portion is more than enough and I love their beef steak skewers it's flavored perfectly and the meat is so tender. I have a hard time finding good hummus in the southbay. Considering the part of town it's in, Mashawi grill has good food at a reasonable price. Parking can be tough with the in n out next door, but it's worth it. Tip: This Redondo location is better than the location on Crenshaw/pch. I've tried this location a few times after eating at the Torrance location often. I have been here about 4 or 5 times and each time was let down. I always order the same thing, the mashawi salad. The lettuce isn't really fresh - the darker greens will look wilted, and the lighter be a little pink from oxygen. I noticed half way through my salad that there was no radish, which is one of the things I love about that salad so I was a little disappointed. Also, the pita bread seems like it's a few hours away from being stale. I'll just have to drive a few more miles to the Torrance location if I'm craving my favorite salad. Ordered food here from Uber eats which I have done once before and had no problem so me and my friend were ordering again. The order was dropped off and when we opened it we saw there was no rice on both of the plates but instead salad. The plate we ordered was for one chicken kabob ON TOP of rice and it includes 2 sides! We call the place o tell them we did not get any rice on either plate, the girl who answered was named Ana and she was very rude and said the excuse was uber eats doesn't give you the option to choose rice, i said umm it does its on the uber eats site it specifically says " CHICKEN KABOB ON A BED OF RICE AND INCLUDES 2 SIDES!!!! That was her 1st excuse and lie, Ana then said ok I will tell you the truth, we have a new girl in the kitchen and she probably forgot to put the rice in but you can come back and pick it up. I said NO if I wanted to pick it up then I would have, I did uber eats for a reason, I only have a short lunch I cant go pick it up! I then asked to speak to a manager and she said the manager was not there. She was very rude the whole time and did not have a straight story, I will definitely be calling tomorrow to speak to the manager, our office does a lot of catering through them and we no longer will. I drove by here intending on going to Flame Broiler down the street, but decided to shake up the routine a bit! I'm glad I did. The chicken skewers were absolutely delicious--moist, flavorful, just yum! The only suggestion I would have is to lighten the salt on the rice pilaf (no need for a salty rice when the chicken is already so flavorful!). Next time I'll opt for the jasmine rice. We had the tri-tip shawarma plate and beef kefta (both of which we will order again), and both were quite tasty along with an average-sized portion of meat. I have recently found this new love for Mediterranean food because of Mashawi Grill. I wasn't a huge fan of hummus before but their hummus is fresh and so good, their chicken has flavor and it isnt bland like some other places I've been to. The restaurant is not that big but that's not a problem to me, they keep it clean, the ordering process is quick and the workers are nice. My only complain about this place is that they don't give you more than one piece of pita bread :/ read more
