So, movie snacks were good but it didn't hit a spot, so I figure I'd get something from the food court. I debated between this place and the Hawaiian spot next door and the only reason this won out is because they had longanisa! I just had to try it! I was with Mom and she, too, wanted to give it a try. There was a very nice gentleman working behind the counter who took our order and promised it'll be out in no time - a promise he kept. I've had my share of longsilog, but the nice change here is it came with fruit! Rice had a nice hint of butter and fluffy. I know, it's mall food but, pretty decent mall food at that. A week or so ago I was very ill with flu and had no energy to cook not drive anywhere to eat. Uber Eats had these guys listed as an option so, upon perusing their menu, I found they had vegetarian and pescatarian options for me. Uber Eats is pretty good with giving the order status and dispatched the food to the driver in a fairly timely manner. Was happy happy happy to not drive or cook that day. Happy happy that mom and sweetie were good with their meals. Decent grilled cheese sammie with a couple of different, gooey cheeses. Standard crinkle cut fries that were fine. Was in the Galleria mall today and was thinking of just getting a quick fish sandwich at another food court place in the mall. But, the samples lady got me! Had a bite of the tuna sandwich and enjoyed the crunch of the toast. Opted for the cheese quesadilla since I was craving something with sour cream. Pleasant service. Nice that they have paperless receipt options. They thought it was very cool that I did Uber Eats with them recently. I ordered a carne asada salad but after an hour drive to a friend's house I see that I was given a chinese chicken salad instead. The much older gentleman who took my order was really sweet (which is why i added the 2 extra stars to my updated order) but it might help him to repeat the order to make sure he heard it correctly. OR anyone who reads this makes sure you ask for your order to be treated as well as ask for your receipt. [Review #272] 2018 Yelp 100 Challenge (37/100) I was doing a little shopping with my daughter when she complained that she was hungry. Since I haven't been to the South Bay Galleria in years, I had her walk the food court to see what looks or smells good. She picked the smoothie place in the far corner, our first stop; I said we're going to see what else this food court has to offer. I'm so glad I did otherwise I would not have known about Sunny Side Up Deli & Grill. A cashier was announcing samples of various sandwiches & sides. Since we just had dim sum a couple of hours ago, I wasn't hungry but curious to taste their samples. H grabbed first, a tuna salad sandwich. The tuna salad had good flavor & was not drowning in mayo; the wheat bread was perfectly toasted, giving added crunch & texture. We also tried the honey glazed ham sandwich; a tad too sweet for my tastes but my LO liked it. I grabbed a Philly sandwich consisting of angus beef, grilled onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, & melted provolone cheese. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this sandwich, considering it's from a food court restaurant in the mall. My daughter still wanted her fruit smoothie after our food court perusal, but she said she wouldn't mind eating here next time. She even said she'll have the tuna salad. What!?! This finicky kid won't eat more than a couple spoons of that at home (probably because mines does not taste as good). I see the long lines at the more known establishments... however, any mall goer that tasted Sunny Side Up Deli & Grill's enticing samples is more likely to give them their business.
