Oh my goodness! We just discovered this gem of a restaurant in Marianna. The atmosphere is beautiful, the owner incredibly friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a mixed appetizer of Falafel and Sambousa which was delicious. I've eaten Falafel in many places and this ranked up there with some of the best. My entree of Moshakel was so good I was trying to get every drop of the tomatoey broth the vegetables were in. The Mr. had a burger that he said was fantastic. This wonderful spot offered great choices for a vegan and a carnivore to enjoy a meal together. We will be back often. read more

We have been back five times now and continue to be very impressed with Mashawy Grill! They have now added home brewed beer, which means we will be coming back more--we would become regulars with a good wine menu! The steaks are likely the best in town and this is a very unique restaurant that is owned, managed and run by a very hard working family. I never thought I'd find food like this in Marianna. The lamb chops were great. They were very tender and have a wonderful almost smokey flavor. The rice and salad added to the dish. For dessert we had the baklava and it was also great. The flavor was sweet but not too sweet. The portions were good and the price was good as well for the quality and atmosphere. Truly fantastic Mediterranean food. I don't even normally order falafel anymore it's so rare to find it done well, but they absolutely nailed it on our mixed appetizer plate (delicately crisp with a fully cooked but still green center with a smooth texture) along with grape leaves that are the most flavorful I've had and small triangular fried yummy sambusas. Chicken shawarma platter had good garlicky spiced flavor. We also had the owner's creation for dessert, the Nadya, which was delicious- just the perfect amount of sweet. He said some customers find it reminiscent of a moon pie, I'd say what a moon pie wishes it were (if it was real food). read more

By chance we found this hidden gem. Family owned business. Food was the perfect temperature and well proportioned. We asked for a recommendation on what to order and our waiter was very helpful and knowledgeable on the preparation of the foods. We took a leap and ordered the Turkish coffe along with the Mashawy coffee and we were pleasantly surprised at how delicious they were. My wife and I had an early dinner at Mashawy and it was outstanding. We ordered the Mixed Grill for Two and everything was perfect. We were familiar with the food since I had worked 14 years in Saudi Arabia. We also enjoyed our talk with the owner who was very cordial and accommodating. We are from Dothan, Alabama which is 40 miles distant but we will certainly return for another outstanding meal. I cannot say enough about this restaurant and highly recommend it to everyone. It is certainly a jewel in Marianna and the owner deserves a well done for his efforts. Thanks again for a wonderful evening and excellent food. Possibly the worst Mediterranean food, we've had... The beef shawarma lacked flavor & so did the chicken kabob. My son loved his beef burger. The fries were excellent. The gyro lacked in filling and it had been as if "panini'ed" rather a nice full filling gyro wrap. If they suggest mango/cherry juice for kids, it's not quite like a juice it's more like a mixed fruit watered down smoothie and very sweet not worth $4.00 a glass especially when the kids or no one else will drink it. Friendly service but it took awhile to get refills. read more

This was my first time visiting this place and my first impression of the restaurant was very clean and upscale. The owner was very generous and kind and attentive. He suggested some food options from the most popular menu entrées and my fiance and I were very beyond pleased and impressed. While I admit the outside parking area isn't much to look at, the inside is lovely and inviting. I was warmly welcomed by the owner, who was friendly and just the right level of attentive. I had a Moroccan tea to start--such pretty presentation!--and the lamb chops as my main. Hands down the best lamb chops I've ever had, so juicy and flavourful with bits of crust. It was served with a tasty rice, fattoush salad, and a bit of hummus. I finished my meal with a variety of their desserts, my favourite of which was the Nadya--named after the woman behind all of this delicious food. She and the owner (her husband) spent some time chatting with a few local regulars, and it was so nice seeing how well they knew their customers and the good community spirit. I had a nice chat with those regulars (hi, Sylvia!) as well, and it made eating alone whilst travelling for work so much more pleasant. I left full and happy and eager to return. I would give this place fifty stars if I could. We brought our kids in after a long day of exploring and swimming in the Florida sun. I was craving Mediterranean food but my family wasn't so eager to try this place. We were greeted by the most pleasant server. My kids had their hearts set on spaghetti but it wasn't on the menu. The server said she would check with Nadia and see if were possible. She came back and said that it was but it would take a bit longer to make. When the food came we realized she had made tomato sauce from scratch to satisfy the kids and boy was it all satisfying. I consider myself a falafel connoisseur and I had the best I've ever had here. My husband got the chicken gyro wrap and couldn't stop saying how great it was. We ended with a basbousa cake and baklva with a Turkish coffee for dessert and I was left completely blown away at how incredible it all was. Then to top it off the owner, Sammy, came by to check on our table and when I gushed over how amazing it all was he grinned his million dollar smile and glorified his wife, Nadia. Then brought out a final complimentary dessert that he said he created. It was phenomenal. We will not hesitate to make the three hour trip from home back over here just to come back here. I am a middle eastern first generation American. I grew up in a middle eastern family eating middle eastern food. When I heard there was a middle eastern restaurant in Marianna I laughed. BUT, I decided to go anyway just to see how the food was. I brought my wife and her sister with me, two girls born and bred in good old Marianna. Well, was most pleasantly surprised to find authentic middle eastern food that I considered excellent. And so did my wife and my sister-in-law. They can not wait to return. We wanted to find a place to ride the motorcycle to for lunch and decided on this place. Well worth the trip for the food. Got the mixed appetizer, great for two.
