I had an order delivered one evening. What's there not to love about lobster? I thoroughly enjoyed everything! The classic lobster roll - is very good. The mac and cheese is also very good. No complaints here. The mac and cheese is even better as a leftover.

The lobster roll was okay. It wasn't as filled as I'm accustomed to so if you're looking for lobster you may need to do an add on for more. It also didn't taste fresh. The mayo used seemed a little sweet (almost reminded me of a milder version of miracle whip), and I wasn't a huge fan. The service was unremarkable and the environment was what can be expected for a quick lunch spot. Would I go again, probably not.

The Bar Harbor - missing the tails :(

Ohhh Masons, ohhhh Cousins...I've had them both. I was raised in New England and my first solid food was lobster. I've had lobster in every state in New England and North Carolina (see my review of the Lobstah Shack in Topsail) and I've cooked many at home myself. I feel like I know a thing or two about this delectable crustacean. First, I'll start with your competitor. Your lobster roll is by far and away better. Point! Next, let's talk about the taste of the roll...deliciously seasoned sautéed in a perfect amount of hot butter - the Connecticut Roll. Yum!!!! Tender and sweet and not overpowered or overshadowed by the butter. The bun was warm and squishy -- perfect. Now let's talk about the "size/amount" for your money. It was decent, even above average I'd say. But here's the issue -- I got two "Bar Harbor" rolls (Connecticut-style), which is advertised as in including a lobster tail (whole) on top of the roll. I was excited about that. Neither of my rolls came with the tail on top. That was super disappointing :(. It's an upcharge so I felt a little duped but, again, still a healthy amount of lobster meat in the rolls. I couldn't make mention of it because I ordered it for delivery so I couldn't exactly go to the counter to ask about the tails. I also ordered a bowl of clam chowder. After reading many reviews, I was skeptical but it was pretty delicious. Flavorful and a good balance of clams and potatoes. I'm 65/35 on whether I'd go back again. Everything was delicious but I'm still sad about those two tails!

The new Mason's Famous Lobster Rolls is now open at Waverly Place! This casual restaurant focuses on one thing, lobbies! Get it in traditional New England (mayo) or Connecticut style (warm butter) as a roll or you can do a lobster cheese sandwich, lobster salad or lobster mac n cheese. With a basic menu and quick-casual setting, you'll be munching on a fresh lobster roll, stat. The space is basic with a maritime theme with a self-service soda fountain. Overall a strong option for a traditional Maine lobster roll but of course, you'll pay a bit for that kind of seafood. Enjoy!

Lobster and shrimp rolls. $50 with tip.

Very pricey. However, since I'm no stranger to lobster rolls, I knew that. If you parked downstairs, go upstairs to find it. Clean. Friendly. Competent. Delicious. Holy cow, this would be my new favorite hangout if it weren't for the first sentence of this review. The lobster roll was meaty and incredible. The shrimp roll was almost as good. Mrs. Vickie's jalapeño chips with ginger beer couldn't have been a better choice. Good God, I'm slobbing on myself just typing! If I find a rich girlfriend, she and I will be regulars at Mason's. Count on that. Even the dude behind the counter was mellow and fun. Excellent business. A.

If you're looking for a really good lobster roll then this is your place. Granted it's a little pricey but that's the nature of seafood. You will get big pieces of lobster that are perfectly cooked. I always get the Connecticut Roll because it's warmed up and a side of lobster bisque. It's the perfect combo!

I was so excited to see that Mason's had opened and was fairly close by. With the wife out of town, I figured tonight is the night for a lobster roll. Hell yeah! Juicy, buttery, mouth watering lobster roll is exactly what I was looking for, just like the pictures that were posted just after they opened. So, here's where it went south.... Not like the beautiful opening week pictures with lobster over flowing from the nice fluffy bun, my roll was the size of you average hot dog bun (not a big Costco-sized monster of a dog, think ballpark size) Unfortunately the amount of filling in the bun was disappointing and it seemed to disappear in only a few bites leaving just some bun left. While it was tasty and seasoned well, it left me feeling like the $20+ I spent for this was not a good value for the money. Here's the pic of my roll.... Still wish it looked like the pics from the opening.

Mason's Famous Lobster Rolls has their second location around this area in Waverly Place now. My mom and I split a Connecticut roll, classic lobster role and a side of potato salad. I liked both rolls but if I had to pick a favorite it would be the classic. The food and service were really good but the rolls are $21 each and that is expensive. It was good to try once but I would not return until the prices go down.

The food is excellent. I had the classic lobster roll and the bisque. It was expensive--lunch for two was about $60, but it's very good.

The franchise manager immediately recognized her -- not only by face, but by name as well. He asked how she had been doing and was genuinely excited to see her. As a parent, that absolutely blew me away. This is someone who has worked with countless teenagers over the years and has likely experienced plenty of turnover, yet he still remembered my daughter personally. That kind of leadership and genuine care for employees is rare these days. The manager was just as incredible. A while back, my daughter needed to step away from work for personal reasons, and I encouraged her to have that conversation with him herself. One of the values I try to instill in my kids is taking ownership and learning how to communicate directly and responsibly. When she spoke with him, he was kind, welcoming, and willing to truly listen. He made her feel comfortable, reassured her, and simply told her that whenever she was ready to come back, she only needed to let him know. Then today, when we walked in, he greeted her with the same kindness and excitement. He called her by name, asked how she was doing, and even asked if she was ready to come back to work. Moments like this say so much about a company's culture and leadership. Great food is one thing, but great people are what truly make a business stand out. In a world where many workplaces barely know their employees, it speaks volumes when leaders take the time to genuinely know and value their staff -- especially young employees just starting out in the workforce. Thank you for creating an environment that makes people feel seen, remembered, and appreciated. That leaves a lasting impression. Tara J

You walk in and have a little self-type market area and immediately to the right there are refrigerators with prepared meals to buy and take home. Straight after the Shelf section there is the butcher shop with all cuts of meats. I liked the concept where you could even pick your meats and have the chef cook them there for you and you can dine in! They also had an area for dining in and sitting at a bar. The bar had many choices of drinks and a wine section in the back to the side. There was a patio area as well. I decided to have some lunch so I got the salmon BLT which was delicious and I got the side of hot honey brussel sprouts. I ordered some lasagna to take home for a meal later. The salmon was cooked perfectly at a medium temperature and the flavoring was great. The brussel sprouts had just enough kick to them and was a great portion size for two or more. The lasagna was good and also a good size but it is a little bit spicy so if you dont like spice be prepared for a little tiny bit. All was delish. The pricing for everything is on point and not too expensive. They also have specials most of the days of the week! Peyton helped me with my to go orders and I met Ralph the owner who told me about the concept of everything. I will definitely be back and I would highly recommend! Second time back was wonderful! Sat and dined in. I got the $1 wings special with barbecue, mac and cheese, and salmon salad. The wings were jumbo size which is great because unlike other places they weren't the size of your pinky. The mac and cheese was very flavorful with the small crisp. The salmon salad was neat because it came and deconstructed segments so you could really pick which toppings you wanted on each bite. The dressing on it was amazing and so was the ranch for the wings. I was attended to by Desiah and Liam who were other so personable and lovely! All of the portions are amazing and I love it because I have food for a few days. Definitely going to come back again to try some of the new items that they've added to their menu.

Now, the real standout: the Hot Honey Roasted Brussels. Those were done to perfection. Crisp on the outside, tender inside, with just the right touch of sweetness and heat. Frankly, I could eat those daily without a second thought. Service deserves a nod, too. The chef stopped by the table to check in, which we were not expecting. Payton, our server, had a great read on the table, attentive when needed, but gave us the space to enjoy the evening without interruption.
