Visiting from out of town, I had to have a lobster roll. There are a lot of options, but Mason's looked good. It's in a great location. I ordered the classic lobster roll and a cup of the lobster bisque. The soup was good. It didn't have a chunks of lobster in it. But it was good. The sandwich was very good. I thoroughly enjoyed it. But the prices are pretty high. The sandwich was $24 and the soup was $10, with tax my meal was $37 before tip. So, it can get quite expensive very quickly. The dining room is small and has an average vibe- nothing special. The employees however, were very nice. They make you feel special. read more

Unfortunately this place is absolutely not worth the price especially with a vastly superior competitor in Luke's right around the corner. I tried all three types of rolls and the meat on all of them was tough and flavorless. The lobster didn't taste like lobster and the crab tasted like tuna. Everything was under seasoned which would be ok if the seafood tasted fresh. The aftertaste was very unpleasant and unfortunately I'm not feeling great after eating the crab and lobster which makes me think the seafood was not good quality. read more

BEST LOBSTER ROLL I think I've ever had. Large chunks of lobster that was just SUPER tasty. Roll was perfectly buttered and toasted. Food: We ordered a classic lobster and a connecticut lobster rolls, clam chowder and lobster bisque. Man, it's been a while since I've been to a lobster roll store where they give you big pieces of lobsters in the roll!!! It was so fresh and I barely added any seasoning and sauce. The soup was on point and perfect pairing with the rolls. I really appreciate that they offer gluten free roll option. Pricing was so much more reasonable compared to other lobster roll places in Pike Place Market. Customer service: The staff were so friendly and informative about the menu. They helped me understand the differences of each roll that allowed me to select one that I would enjoy. Ambiance: The store is very clean with plenty of seats. Got the Connecticut roll with the bar harbor meat add on, which was advertised as 50% more meat. I think it was essentially just an extra hunk of tail meat, but I'm glad I got it bc I think otherwise the roll would've been really disappointing. Overall it was good, pretty standard. I liked that it came with a lemon slice and a pickle, but a single roll and a cup of soup for around $40 and I was still hungry. Not sure if the total meal/experience is worth $51 after tax, but it wasn't the worst $51 I've spent on food before. Restaurant is clean and certainly upholds its EXCELLENT health rating. I went for the Bar Harbor add-on which adds a tiny lobster tail to the meat. Fresh tasting and the perfect soft crunch texture on a nicely buttered bread. I'll be honest, the slightly lower prices at Mason's drew my interest and I was sold at the signficantly lower line. Staff is friendly and the shop was clean/well maintained. The New England clam chowder was tasty, with more clam than potatoes which made the price worth it. However compared to Ivar's or Pike Place Chowder, Mason's chowder seems slightly smaller. The Connecticut Roll was indeed buttery but well grilled, and considerably packed with lobster. I was a bit surprised with how small it was (slightly smaller than a regular fork), but I suppose that's the trade off for the lower cost. The whoopie pie is a nice treat down nostaliga lane. Tasty and not too messy. If I'm in the area again and not wanting to wait in the longer lines, I'll probably go back. read more

The clam chowder was also solid, with a lot of freshness and flavor as well. Even though the prices are on the higher end, I do think the quality of this restaurant was great and I would definitely be open to coming again.
