This is a wonderful place for lunch! The hot dogs are delicious and the staff are super friendly and helpful. This is a family owned business and I remember when they used to serve their hot dogs from a small stand/cart under the bridge downtown. It's the same folks serving the same delicious hot dogs. Everything here is cooked with Love and Pride using fresh ingredients. This is one of the best places in Nashville for dogs, fries, and tots. I'm told the "Mason's BOB" is really special and is their number one seller. It is a hamburger with a hot dog and pulled pork. I'm planning to try it next time. I went to Mason's this past Saturday for the 2nd time! I got a pimento cheese and bacon jam burger the 1st time I went and a chili cheese dog this 2nd time. My sides were tater tots and mac 'n cheese. Everything was delicious! The people were so sweet and gave me a sample of their BBQ and baked beans while I waited on my order. I wish I hadn't already ordered. The BBQ and beans were SO yummy! Love supporting local and family owned businesses. Well worth it. I also want to try some of the ice cream and other sides. The staff here was absolutely wonderful to me and my three young kids! Right from the start, they made our visit special -- my kids noticed the toy vending machines, and when I realized I didn't have any quarters, a staff member immediately handed each of them two. Huge win right off the bat! The menu is fantastic with so many tempting options, but my kids just wanted plain hot dogs. Since there's no kids menu, they even gave us a discount for those -- such a thoughtful touch. Then, out of nowhere, we were offered complimentary mac and cheese, which everyone loved. When my oldest inevitably spilled his drink, the team was kind and quick to help, never making us feel like an inconvenience. And as we were leaving, my kids asked for more chips, and the staff offered them for free (we politely declined to teach a little life lesson -- but still, above and beyond!). I have come to love this place and its owners & staff. On my first visit I informed them I don't eat pork or red meat, they have since gone out of their way to provide me with options. The teriyaki chicken sandwich is my favorite, but they also make it with a turkey burger when I ask. They even surprised me with a turkey Chicago dog which was very flavorful. The ladies here were SO nice upon entering! So social and helpful on picking out what to get on the menu. I ordered a Chicago dog and side of Mac, but last second changed to a plain hot dog. They had already started it, so they gave me and another customer each half for free and still gave me my full order, as well as a free sample side of their beans. I got the Cheesy Bacon Delight and Chili Cheese Tots. Y'all. I can't even tell you how good it was! The tots had a great seasoning on it and the chili and cheese on top just made it even better. The bun is very soft with a tad of crunchiness on top (sooo good) and the toppings are flavorful and give just an added extra touch of flavor.
