I had an unpleasant experience here the past week. I came in with a ton of knots in my upper back. I told Travis, the manager, that was the reason for my visit. He told the lady that was working on me. She did not listen/understand me. I asked her probably about 5-6 times for her to be harder, firmer, deeper. I used all these words thinking that she would increase the intensity. That did not happen. It was one of the most horrible massages I've ever had. She just rubbed me lightly. Put way too much oil on me. The sheet underneath me was drenched as well. It was gross. She did not work out any of the knots. In fact, she was unable to even find them. They are huge, and a lot of them. Yet she kept asking "here?" "here?" How did she not feel it? Then she was working on my shoulders and was scratching me. I stopped her, and told her there was no need to continue. I asked to speak to the manager, Travis. He just repeatedly said "I understand. I understand." No apologies. No offer to make things right. He even was going to charge me the full $40! I was pissed! Also, on the front desk there is a sign requesting at least a $10 tip. That is 25%!! If I tip 25% it will have to be amazing, above and beyond. This massage was The only reason I am giving this place 2 stars is because I have been here previously, with no real issues. I recommend the Massage Eden across from Bonita Vista High School. I will not be returning because of this past experience. read more

If I would move during the massage because it was too hard. She would ask & adjust to my liking. Everything I had to say was understood. I don't know why reviewers are demanding excellent English from a place this affordable instead of going to a spa with native English speakers & paying their premium. For the price here, I wouldn't complain. TIP I always tip $10. Anything less is not enough to compensate someone for such a laborious job. It's not much but it meets the min. I can easily spend over $100 on some fu-fu place that provides you with fancy flavored water to drink in a room with nuts and a big fish tank to relax while more than 1 person is questioning you left and right what you want - only to get a subpar massage. Well, look no further - you definitely get your $ worth here! "Helen" didn't speak much English but she gave me one of the best massages ever!! I just had to show her where I was hurting (shoulders and upper back) and she went to town!! She was this Asian lady a little taller than I was that had the strength of a 250lb man! I have been going to Massage Eden for several months now. My massages are wonderful and the masuesse really seem knowledgeable. My issue with Massage Eden is the ability to relax. My most recent visit to Massage Eden I was placed in a room near the entrance. The door I guess per company policy remains open so I was able to hear everything going on outside my room. To top this non relaxing experience a woman walks in the room and speaks to my masuesse in the middle of my massage and my masuesse leaves. Unfortunately this is not the first time my massage was interrupted in this way. I was previously using Massage Envy and they would close the door and there would be no interruptions and I would be able to completely relax. I really hope Massage Eden is able to fix this issue as I love the massages but dislike the lack of privacy and ability to relax. read more

I usually have great massages here. Great price for the hour, unfortunately this weekend it was horrible service. Lady did my back spent most of the hour on my back and lower back. I've ever had anyone "massage" my glutes so much. I didn't want to say anything thinking she knows her job. I don't need to tell her how to do her job. She finished and she noticed i was upset so took 10 min to do hands/legs but it was NOT the quality I usually get. So I went out talked to the person I charged. I got the monthly special for $50 with 45min full body massage with 35min foot massage. Well worth the money, and you may customize the amount of time dedicated to what area. I let my masseuse decided. She also used hot stones and deep tissue techniques on my back which I desperately needed. The room is pretty standard, realizing music in the background. I recently moved to the San Diego area and I am still getting use to the difference in price from services from everything to haircuts to autoshops. It is hard not to feel ripped off by some businesses, especially in Chula Vista. So, it is quite refreshing to find such a deal for a massage therapist. Massage Eden is very professional and enjoyable experience. I think the name of the therapist was Wendy and she gave me probably one the best massages I ever had in my life. She very professional and polite. Wendy was able to give me a very thorough massage that focused on my shoulders and back. My shoulders and back are a problem area for me and in the past when I ask other therapists to focus on them; they will seem to rush other parts of my body. I felt that was not the case with Wendy and she still took time to give me a complete massage. I originally wanted a hour long massage, but she convinced me to add on another 30 minutes due to how much she needed to work on my shoulders and back. She was not pushy and I felt she was being honest about the time it was going to take to give me a complete massage. I was extremely glad she recommended the extra 30 minutes. She was very considerate by asking if she was being too hard on particular areas. Some of her technique almost felt like acupuncture with how it released some of the pain I was feeling on my back and shoulders. She is extremely talented and precise when finding every knot and taking the time to work on them. My only regret was when it came to the tipping. I completely understand the front desk asking if you want to tip your therapist. They are looking out for their employees. However, normally like to see the receipt in front of me and just ad it on my own. It helps me make sure I give a proper amount. When the front desk asked, I just blurted out 10 dollars without thinking about how she spent an extra 30 minutes on me. I did not realize until after I left how I short changed her and looked cheap. 10 dollars was certainly not enough for a 90 minutes massage. Especially, with how much this place is a deal and the therapist's effort to give me a great massage. Luckily, I will be back and I will hopefully get the same therapist and make up the difference. read more

Went here last night with my husband and a friend who treated us to a massage. The massage table was not the most comfortable but I can't complain for a $40 one hour full body massage. The masseuse was good. She massaged my whole body, head, feet, and even did some stretching of my arms and legs. She even asked me how I wanted the pressure of my massage. The only issue we had is that my husband and I paid over $10 tip each and the ladies were questioning our tip as if they wanted us to pay a higher tip. I was very turned off. My sister in law and I went in to get the 1 hour full body massage for $40. The man at the front recommended the monthly special for a 45 minute full body and 35 minute foot massage for $49 great deal so we did it. It was more like a 70 minutes of pain and a 5 minute foot massage for me and a 74 minutes of soft touches and a minute tickle of a foot massage. Then they expected us to give a $10 tip and they out numbered us and tried to force us to give $10. I normally tip between $12-$15 for massages but for these I wouldn't give anything near that. I read some of the reviews listed below and find it hard to believe that it's the same place where I have received such excellent service. I feel better and have more mobility in my shoulder that's recovering from surgery. I've heard some sounds but nothing that took away from the pleasure of my massage. I was desperate for a massage because of a headache and a knotty back, and so I went as they accept walk-ins. I was led into one of the rooms immediately after walking in. The masseuse came in, in no time at all. I was trying to talk to her about what I wanted and I had a few questions but because she spoke very limited English, I asked for somebody who speaks English. The lady at the counter who ushered me in was the one who helped me relay to her what I wanted. I was put off with how she talked to me as she was short - as if upset about my questions and requests which, I think, were not unreasonable. I must say I felt better when I walked out of there but honestly, I have had far better massages in the past. There was a lot to desire for, not to mention that their personnel was unfriendly. The masseuse was nice and I could tell that she tried her best to give me a good massage so I gave her a good tip even if I wasn't happy with the service. Sorry, Massage Eden, I am not going back to your place nor am I going to recommend you to anyone. Did I mention that there was a funny smell walking in that hallway, and that the sheets seemed old and dingy? Yes, you have one of the most reasonable rates around town but I do not mind paying more if I am happy about everything - service, friendly people, no $2 fee for using my card, clean-looking, and clean-smelling, etc. In other words, you just gotta think of ways and means to keep your customers to keep going back for more of your services. read more

I've been here 4 or 5 times in the past three years and just get the $25 foot masaage. I always wait until I have a thousand knots in my back before I decide to go. Every time, except once, I've gotten Yuki. The other time was an older lady who was really soft. Yuki is AMAZING. I have a perpetual knot in my right shoulder that never goes completely away. He has managed to get it out twice, but it usually comes back in a day or two. He is very thorough and knows how to get knots out. I've been coming to this location for 3 years now, once every month or two and I've ALWAYS had a pleasant experience. Today, I'm finally leaving my review. Note : this review is based on my experience today at 9:00pm August 17th 2017. Like I previously stated I've been here many times before. I always get someone different each time I go and I pretty much recognize everyone here expect today, I had a lady named (Yuma I believe that was her name) who I've never had massage me before. She was very sweet although Unfortunately I did not have even a slightly fair massage today. I hate to throw anyone under the bus but she just did a very lazy job on me. She basically scratched my scalp and was playing with my hair for 15 minutes (really just tangling my hair into a huge thick knot) and I had to ask her 5 times to go harder on me because she was just rubbing my back with what felt like a gallon of oil ??? I'll be calling them tomorrow because it was just a really poor job done. I'm not sure if she was just tired (I went at 9:00pm) or what was going on but I literally walked out with my boyfriend and the first thing I said to him was "that was the worst massage of my life" it was a joke I wanted to just stop the massage and request someone else but I also didn't want to be an asshole but she didn't massage. I feel like she was probably dazing off into space while rubbing my back. It sucked today unfortunately. This was one of the best massages I've had in a while. I recommend the 60 min foot reflexology massage. It includes face, back, neck, legs, arms and feet. I thought it was just 60 min on the feet but she carefully explained to me what it included. There was a language barrier but she knew what she was doing, sorry I didn't get her name.
