I had a very disappointing experience with the front desk staff at Massage Envy Moreno Valley, despite receiving a wonderful massage from Norma. When I arrived, I gave my name to the first front desk employee, who simply walked away without saying anything. A second employee then asked if I had been helped. After I explained that I hadn't, she asked for my name again and repeatedly insisted (three times) that I sit down to complete my paperwork. I politely explained that I preferred to stand, and her response of "oh" came across as annoyed. What concerned me most was the lack of privacy. The front desk employee began asking me personal questions about injuries and what type of massage I wanted while standing in the middle of the lobby where everyone could hear. When I mentioned that discussing personal health information out loud felt inappropriate, I was told it was "standard protocol." While waiting, I also overheard another front desk employee calling clients to reschedule appointments and openly telling them that their massage therapist couldn't come in because she was having "family problems." That seemed very unprofessional and not something that should be shared with clients. At checkout, I chose to leave a tip on my credit card. The front desk employee loudly announced, "Oh, you're leaving a tip on your card?" I said yes, and she responded, "Oh, your card didn't go through." A moment later she said, "Oh, I guess it did." The entire interaction felt awkward and unprofessional. I've visited many massage establishments over the years, and unfortunately this location stands out for having the poorest front desk customer service and professionalism I've experienced. The one bright spot was my massage therapist, Norma. She was excellent, professional, and provided a relaxing massage. She deserves recognition for her great work. read more

5/5 for Alexis upfront customer service. I'm putting down 3 stars since I haven't actually paid for a service here. I came in as a walk in, after reviewing them online and was prepared to pay in after more details. Walking in, there was a girl with glasses and black hair with bangs that was absolutely mute, no action to get up and greet me instead just looking at me up/down. Alexis was on the phone, smiled and greeted me briefly despite being on the phone. I tried asking about services with the girl 1st described, yet she was just short and pointed to their counter. I was close to just walking out at that point. Until Alexis finished the phone call, smiled said she'd be happy to go over everything me. Alexis shoutout to you! She may be the only saving grace for upfront customer service. read more

I typically come here and strictly see James. But today I needed a last-minute session and chose Chris on the app. I do not recommend him. I'd like to preface on the website/app it shows him as All Pressures but when I arrived for my session the very first thing he said was "He did not do deep pressure and if I wanted to reschedule"? I was caught a bit off guard. He then continued by saying none of my previous therapists left any notes and recommended not to use the app when scheduling appointments. He also made a snide comment about his blind colleague saying he obviously can't write notes. What made it worse, not once did he ask me what I was looking for or the reason for my visit. It made me feel very uncomfortable and almost as if he didn't want to see me. I stood up and left. The receptionist desk also didn't make me feel better and even tried to charge the same day cancellation. Talk about customer service. The one star is for James but I will not be returning and I do not recommend this location. read more

I loved my massage with Carol, she is amazing, making sure she wasn't pressing too hard and kept making sure I was okay through my 90 minute massage! I would have loved to keep going back, but when it came to pay, they were charging me more than what I was told the week prior when I booked. I decided to get a membership, and they specifically said, and confirmed with me over and over my pricing would be as first time and a set price. Today, they were charging me $10 more and for my MIL 15 more because she wasn't a member. I think that's how they get you to book with them. Tell you one think and at the end try to charge you another. I got to speak with a manager, but she was useless saying she couldn't do anything about honoring the price I was given previously. And guess what, if she wanted to, she could. She's the manager. The massage was amazing, but unless you want to be paying extra at the time of check out, avoid Massage Envy! I dropped my handicapped brother with down syndrome off for a One hour massage notifying them i'd be 2-5 minutes late and asked if it was a problem they said no it'll just cut into the appointments time which i understood clearly. But while waiting outside he came out to the car 10 minutes sooner than when it was supposed to have ended. I feel like they took advantage by shorting my brother from a complete hour, when asked the clerk said "well we did discuss on the phone that it would cut into the time so lets see here..oh i see he was out sooner but as we discussed he was late so thats why the time was cut." So Yes I understand im solely responsible if Im late! But that doesn't justify cutting the end of the massage short. He essentially got a 40 minute massage for the price of an hour before asking me to tip. super weird to cut it short for no real reason and try to justify it read more

I'm really disappointed with the level of professionalism at this location lately. The last few times I went have been a total mess. I walked in and the front desk receptionist had her food out on display. Then she goes into the private room and asked personal health questions to one of the customers. So then I tried to cancel my subscription and she tells me I don't have the paperwork so I returned on another day to sign them and they tell me the printer isn't working. After a few moments we were able to make it work and I signed the paperwork. Then today I noticed my bank was charged. Smh. I gave them more than the 10 day notice. I have been a member of Massage Envy for over 14 years and have had zero issues with any therapists. I come on a routine basis of every 2 weeks. I have been seeing the same therapist for the past 4 years and he recently left. Sadly, this location has not been able to provide a new therapist to fill his abilities of deep tissue massage. The location recommended someone whom I did not feel could help me. I saw them, was not satisfied with the depth of the massage but didn't complain. I was willing to try someone else because I am fair and wanted to give them another chance. I prepay for my massages and I also buy gifts cards in bulk for myself because I go so frequently. I still have $390 in gift cards and pre paid massage that I need to use. I went in today and told the therapist Oxana that I was used to my previous therapist and the depth he gave me and she instantly got offended and recommended I cancel. I explained that I didn't want to cancel and I didn't expect her to do what my last therapist did but I needed to explain what I needed from the session. She proceeded to tell me that the session clock was ticking and if I wanted to cancel then we should. Instead of her converting me to a loyal client of hers, she refused to see me. I am just very sad to see that people are so quick to get offended, give up and basically quiet quit. I am a business owner myself and would not tolerate an employee like this. Unfortunately this spa seems desperate for therapist and tolerates the type of behavior she displayed today which was to walk out. She honestly did not seem to want to service me from the get go. This location has not been able to provide the service and the customer service is disappointing. These are individually owned locations and since I have been a member so long, I know not all locations have such unprofessional behavior and poor customer service. Out of the 2 front office girls, one tried to make me feel as if I did wrong by expressing my preferences up front to Oxana. The other girl (wish I got her name) was much more understanding and the only employee I would want to speak with at this point other than management. I do not recommend this location. I have a membership here which will be canceled soon. I went in for an hour massage and decided to add on the rapid tension relief. When I went to check out I was charged an extra $15. I asked why it wasn't taken out of my membership like a stretch. The girl asked me if there is an issue with that. Yes, the issue is I should have been informed prior to getting the "add on". Poor customer service. What's the membership for if I have to pay out of pocket and still be expected to tip. Fist thing they went up on the price so we had to come out of pocket. Not good customer service. These were gift cards purchased when the price was still 50.00. Great customer service would have been to honor that. We had to add an additional 20.00. After the massages we were sat in the quiet room and waited to be upsold on memberships. But they continue to take it the money out of my credit card for a year. I lost my credit card April 28, 2024. I canceled my card, so Massage Envy didn't get there monthly payment. They called me to tell me they didn't get there payment. I told them my contract was only for 6 months. She said I had to formally write a letter to canceled my membership. When asked I was told no there will not be one for free but I can pay for one. The girls at the front desk just quickly ushered me into the waiting room and wanted me to wait for my massage.
