Let me start by saying how excited I was to get a last minute couples massage with my hubby. This is the first time we've gotten one together and was hoping to find a place we can go to regularly. When I called to get pricing, a man answered the phone he quoted me $63 for a couples massage: 1 hour with hot stone. I thought wow this is a great deal and booked. Upon arriving we were greeted by a rude woman who I assume is the owner or manager. She told us it's $70 and we pay now. Umm okay wow. I told her I was told $63 on the phone and she rolled her eyes and said okay but you pay now. Fine.. although that red flag should have sent me and hubby running out the door. After an hour of an okay massage in the cold, which didn't shock me as I knew what the price was. It was time for us to go to the front.. We handed each lady $6, so a total of $12, which mind you is technically 20%. The nasty woman in the front proceeded to say it's not enough and we need to give $10 each. Excuse me? I said absolutely not and she said it was mandatory. My husband gave them the additional money as I walked out. We will NOT be going back. FYI: It had nothing to do with the $ amount as my husband and I are in service based industries as well. It's the rudeness and surprises. Groupon for the win!! My partner is a hawk when it comes to catching good deals on Groupon. The other night she came across this deal of an hour long massage with hot stone and cupping for under $50...yes please! Of course she bought two. :-) We show up to our appointment and honestly from the outside looking in...it looks closed. VERY dark. But I guess that makes sense for the aesthetic. So we walk in and show the woman in front our Groupon code and she tells us to wait. This is a smaller location basically separated by curtains so be prepared to hear everything. They do pump in some light piano music throughout but you can still hear everything. Not that big a deal. We are taken back to our room and are told to lay down. First test for me...being that I am 6'8" and over 300lbs I always worry about the tables being strong enough. Good news...VERY strong. Soon as we had our clothes/items in the supplied baskets and told them we were ready...they jumped right to it so BE READY! There is no gentle walk on and intro conversation! These women come in...take care of business...get out. For some this can be off putting but I didn't mind at all. As for the massage itself it was fantastic, ESPECIALLY for the price! (Thank you Groupon). They had consistent pressure throughout all portions (massage, hot stone and cupping). The only negative we could find was back to what I said earlier...BE READY! They do not warn you between segments of the massage. So you will be getting massaged...she leaves for a second...and then BOOM, hot stones. Lol. As I said some parts of this massage were a little jarring. All that being said, in my opinion Groupon wins again. Clean. Expect to tip at least minimum $15. Remember to appreciate the service industry. Professional. We just went here for a couples massage. I really like it my masseuse was very gentle and applied the right pressure. Her massage didn't feel rushed too and it was very relaxing. I DON'T have an issue with the points people usually complain about this place: 1. They don't speak English at all: it's totally fine to me. I'm an immigrant myself and I support immigrant workers. 2. They chase after you for tips. I usually give a generous tips at Chinese massage places because the price is already cheap. At least I know the tips go directly to the techincians and not the owners. It's ok for them to expect tips. 3. Rude attitude at front desk: come on people, it's not a luxury place. You come here for a massage. Period. Don't expect to pay $20-$30 and be treated like a queen/king. So why 1 star? The massage itself was a total failure. I ended up with weird back pain now. I asked him how his massage was and he said he didn't feel much pressure since he's a bigger guy. We've been to other massages and this was by far the worst. I was skeptical reading the negative reviews but indeed, my experience was very good that I will start coming here more now. My friend brought me to this place for a little Christmas treat and it was so great. Everyone was very friendly. I don't know who did my massage but she was this younger lady. I liked my massages easy and she did such a good job that I felt asleep only half way in. The price is very cheap for both feet and body massage. Only $35 for over an hour long. This place might not be the greatest spa, but in terms of pricing, for sure no other spa can beat this place. Highly recommend you guys to try out at least one time. She did back rub, shoulder rub, arm rub, leg rub, palm and foot rub. My goodness! I can do that on my own! She also rub a hot stone on my back which I like because I was freezing in there! However, there one thing that they need to work on which is professionalism. I apologize and it just became a texting war back-and-forth my fiancé and I decided to ignore it because we like the place last night we had an appointment for a couples massage in the morning the day of the appointment my fiancé suffered a stroke and we were in the hospital all day and night. Of course my mind was not on our couples massage appointment but when I saw the call from the place come in I remembered, and I felt bad. The guy then proceeded to text me saying that I missed the appointment and saying that I was untrustworthy of keeping appointments and that I was not allowed to make any and next time I should just walk in, I decided to ignore it, but then I didn't want to tell him what had happened. I told him about the stroke and the guy did not reply. Anything back. I am also business owner and I completely understand that when clients do not cancel, it can be become frustrating but that's part of the business. You should always treat customers with compassion, especially if they give you a legitimate reason I will not be going to this place anymore. Beware...Horrible place. My 67 year old friend was accosted by her masseuse. She had never been there before and she didn't know her masseuse would be standing outside the room like the gestapo waiting for her tip. She had left her tip on the massage table. She proceeded to the lobby when her masseuse grabbed her from behind and held her in a shoulder lock while dragon lady at the counter yelled at her that you need to tip. Where is your tip??? You can't leave until you tip!!! My masseuse was standing on the other side of her, and they were preventing her from leaving. She told them the tip was on the table so the girl released her. We were both shocked and outraged other this type of treatment. Tipping is customary is not mandatory. She shouldn't have even left a tip. She was very displeased with her massage. At one point they switched masseuses on her partway through the massage. The masseuse left the room for a really long time. She said it was the worst massage she had ever received and was sorry she tipped. We have contacted Westminster police department to file a complaint. Here are some negatives: You can't expect customers in the lobby to be quiet when ALL the workers are talking to each other loudly. Very very disappointed in such a trivial thing.
