I rarely write bad reviews but I want to help bring awareness and protect consumers. Do NOT give them your credit card to use!! And do NOT believe all the positive reviews... it's because they have not had to deal with the cancellation, and BELIEVE the bad ones written, especially read how the owner responds to clients. It just tells you how greedy and mean they are! I should have checked the reviews before coming here. This place just happened to be close to my old home that's why I came in! Yes they may seem nice when you come in (all an act because they're taught to do so!). But their business practice is absolutely deceptive! It's fraudulent that when you go to make a payment, they're allowed to use your credit card number to consistently charge you even after you've asked them to stop! I called them the end of June to cancel my "subscription," but yet in August they were still charging me. I looked through my credit card statement and found out that they had charged me for July, on the 19th, and kept attempting to charge for August. I haven't even been there since June! At the same time I was a victim of identity theft so I had to cancel my card. Thank God for that, otherwise these erroneous payments will keep going through... For no services rendered! I called them again and spoke to Rachel, thinking that they made an innocent mistake but that was not the case! She said she had to have a manager get back to me (to stop taking my payment, and cancel my credit card off their system?!). The manager called me back later and was incredibly rude, and wouldn't even give me her name (maybe she was the owner).. She said that I would have to continue paying, and forfeit the previous month that they had already charged me. Meaning that I couldn't even come in to have services done on their charges on my card. That's incredible!! Here I am trying to be nice and saying I'll come in and pay as I go when my schedule allows it. But instead she was unbelievably hostile and aggressive and even threatened to hang up... and she did! She thought because she has my credit information that she could do whatever she wanted and have this attitude. I immediately called my credit card company to report the dispute and to make sure that they don't fraudulently keep charging me. And even after all that I kept getting text notices in the following days from them saying that they were getting declines from my card. It's unbelievable! This is against the law to keep charging you without your permission, and for no services rendered. But the most important thing is the two face turn around of pure deceit from this company. I've already reported this FRAUD, but I will also contact the Better Business Bureau... which already shows they have seven complaints in just the last three years. I'm sure more people will report them. My advice is: 1) Do NOT do business with this deceitful company, and 2) Do NOT give your credit card info to them for any kind of payment where they can keep the number to do whatever they want! read more

Always great service - receptionists are always so kind. Masseuse's range from okay to great, you definitely have to try a few different ones before finding the one you like. But once you find one you like, it's easy to schedule with that specific masseuse. Place is popular, so it's best to book in advance if you have a specific person and time you want to go. read more

I purchased a giftcard here for my parents to use on a massage. What was supposed to be a relaxing service turned into a billing nightmare. After my parents' massage, they had a small balance left on the gift card. The front desk offered them a monthly membership for a small fee (that could use up the rest of the gift card). An extra $80 charge was never discussed in person & was later charged to their personal card. Management keeps bringing up that the terms were in an email. But I think an $80 recurring charge is something that should be mentioned in person?? It was so difficult for my parents to ask for cancellation & a refund. I called Massage Luxe myself to clarify and see what could be done since I purchased the gift card in the first place. In a calm manner I had asked for their membership refund. Front desk had said they'd only refund if my parents' Yelp review was taken down. I agreed at first & we waited for Massage Luxe to email or call us, as I had clarified it with them many times. They were supposed to contact us. Month later, no call, no email, no refund, and no efforts to "make this right". The management should take the last few client reviews into account. They're all negative and about billing! Had I known this was how my parents would be treated, I would have never purchased a gift card here. I have been a member here since they opened about 12 years ago! Before that, I belonged to a several other monthly massage clubs, that I will not name here. Usually, I would have to leave after a year or two for some reason. These guys are BY FAR the best!! I have never had such a consistent group of therapists to choose from! The rooms and linens are always super clean, nice smelling, with warmed massage tables when necessary and relaxing music and lighting. My current favorite therapist is Monique, who has a very intuitive touch, and can give me anything from a "nice relaxing Swedish" to an amazing "deep tissue" massage, or anything in between. It is so amazing to me that she can go right to where the "trouble spots" are in my back, when I have them. She is generous with her time and an enjoyable conversationalist...or sometimes reads me that I just want the time to quietly recharge. The communication with the staff in reception here is top notch, and I love that they take care of all the paperwork in advance, so I just walk in the door and head right over to the waiting room. I also really like the new "massage therapist availability" e-mails, as my schedule often requires me to make appointments at the last minute, so I can cross reference the available therapists I like with my schedule. I would highly recommend MassageLuxe to anyone who likes to break away once or twice a month, and let them massage your stress away! read more

You may be a proud owner but you need to get your facts straight and not blindly rely on what you're being told by those next to you, otherwise you'll be led the wrong way. As a business owner, shouldn't you have at least gathered all pertinent facts around the issue to base whatever decision you would have made? What's wrong with reaching out to clients? You're calling my wife abusive. We've dealt with businesses for a long time and provided lots of feedback in this community, and for you to post the incomplete details of what happened to save face is not just abusive but blatantly misrepresenting facts. Our first communication with your business about our request to cancel was before the 5th of SEP. We emailed a cancellation request on 31 AUG 2023 to irvine.ca@massageluxe.com after my wife talked to one of your representatives the same morning for a request to cancel. These terms were not what was explained to us and we simply don't agree with them and would not be coming back. Last time I checked the email address and phone numbers used all belong to your business and is posted on your website as of the moment of this posting. Given what you emphasized on your response that we should have notified you at least one day before the first month to cancel, we've given more than enough time. And it is based on the agreement you posted. Nobody is being abusive here but you. You're being a bully to us and other clients as seen in other later reviews/posts after mine. Our cancellation was legit by your own admission, pointing out the cancellation requirements. Cancellations are really not a bad thing and should not be dragged out if done within the terms. You're in the wrong business if your outfit can't handle cancellations gracefully. Why are you making it appear that you're doing us a favor of trying to make it work and giving us a refund? Why is it that those who have posted here about cancellations are the ones to blame and have wronged you and your staff? Haven't you notice a common thread? A credit card authorization ceases after the cancellation and continuing to charge clients after cancellations is just wrong, unprofessional, and downright fraudulent. Why would you cling on to a charge drawn after a cancellation? What makes you feel that you're entitled to do so? It's not an open checking account that you can continue to draw from. I'm not chasing the membership charged but you actually owe us the refund based on us abiding by the agreement. Plain and simple. No need for us to beg or follow up. And by the way, we still haven't gotten a confirmation about our cancellation even though we used three means of communicating our requests: phone calls, email, and finally the online link that was sent to us. And based on what I'm seeing lately on reviews, I'm scared that we'll be charged continuously. But maybe I'll have to go through my credit card company to make sure we avoid that scenario. I have also had massages from other massage therapists and have been pleased with all of them. For me, one with a multitude of medical issues, I have found the quality of the massage increases as they get to know your body and its issues. I have to leave a review for my massage therapist, Ricardo. When booking my massage online, I chose "no preference" for my massage therapist, and I am so incredibly lucky to have been assigned to Ricardo. After a very busy and stressful couple weeks, my body was feeling it, and my simple request for some tension. Relief in my shoulders, turned into one of the best massages I can recall having. I didn't have to tell Ricardo what was sore, he was extremely intuitive. In addition, I've had a couple back surgeries, and have a lot of metal hardware in my back, so I am used to having low back pain as well. Imagine my surprise when in addition to making my shoulders feel weightless he used pressure point techniques to make my entire back relax. I've been a member for a few months now and I have nothing but good things to say about this place. The front desk staff are very welcoming, and the therapists are very talented. Some of the therapists specialize in corrective massage, which is what my body needs instead of light pressure/relaxation. I've noticed some of the bad reviews on here, and it's a shame because everything is in the contract when you sign up. That's why you read it before you sign. One of the boxes you initial in the billing agreement clearly states that you have to sign a cancelation form. Since you didn't sign, what did you think was gonna happen? I can't even believe these people are giving bad reviews for their own mistake. Maybe next time, read the contract before you discredit a good business for lack of common sense. read more

I came in after having a spinal fusion (doctor approved massage) and utilized the hydro-table to help loosen up some major tension I've been having. I had a 60 min with Jun, and he really helped! I've had some issues from the surgery, and my recovery is a lot slower than anticipated. Jun really loosened up my upper body, and my pain level went from a 6/10 to a 2/10, which is remarkable. Full disclosure, I am a massage therapist also, and this was my first time having Jun work on me. All the good things I've heard about him from other clients are 100% true. So my boyfriend wrote an inquiry for a massage for this place. A week later, we never heard anything back from them so we decided to drop by since we were in the area. We went in and asked if we could book a massage for 2 people. The girl behind the counter was super lazy, she didn't greet us or anything. There was a long moment of awkward stares since no one said anything. To break the silence, I said "Hi, we would like to make an appt." No expression at all from the girl! Not how I imagined customer service would be like. Later, as she was taking down our information, I asked her how much it was because we saw online that it was $48 for a 1 hour massage. She then said "no, its $58 for 1 hour massage" I then said well, I saw online that it was $48. Another girl behind the counter chimed in and said it was probably for another location, but it wasn't this location. I asked what other locations they have, and they said only the one in Irvine and one in northern California. So we must've saw the deal for somewhere else. As we were leaving, I saw another sign that said $48 for 1 hour massage for March Madness. So I was really confused at this point, I wasn't sure if the deal was for March only or if it was for a first time guest only. I went back online to check to see if I saw it wrong or something. But sure enough, I was NOT wrong. There was a coupon that says $48 for a 1 hour massage. Not sure why the girls pretended to not know about this or to act clueless. They also did not bring up that there was the $48 deal for March only when the sign was right there on their counter! I should've said something about it but I was so convinced that I saw it wrong. But I just decided that this place is not worth my time. Shady, unprofessional, and super unhelpful! I'll bring my business somewhere else. Best place I've ever been for a massage! Bonus: It's affordable too. It's located near Target in the Crossroads Shopping Center. Plenty of free parking. The interior is well designed, clean, and inviting. The front desk staff are very friendly. It is apparent that this establishment takes pride in providing the best customer service possible (ie - you are welcomed with a warm smile, complimentary tea and water are offered to guests, an ipad questionnaire instead of reams of paperwork...). The massage rooms are clean, relaxing and quiet (no noise from neighboring rooms!) and have heated tables. Of course whether the therapist does a good job or not will ultimately determine how much you like a massage place. The massage therapists who work here are the best of the best. I spoke with the owner who set the bar very high for the therapists that work here. I don't think you will be disappointed with anyone you make an appointment with. Still, everyone has their technique preferences but there are plenty of therapists here to try, all of whom are very professional and talented. The massage therapist I most recently had was Trixi and I can confidently and highly recommend her. I secretly want to kidnap her and hide her in my hallway closet so she can give me massages on demand. Which would be really creepy if I didn't mean it as a compliment on how much I appreciate her skill (somehow that is going to come back to haunt me if I ever run for public office). They have a discount for your first massage. You can then sign up and have your credit card automatically billed for monthly massages that are very affordable. There is no contract so you can stop at any time.
