For a special occasion, we stopped by for dinner. The restaurant is located in the same strip center that has Outback Steakhouse. It's just south of Tampa Rd. on the west side of US19 in Palm Harbor. The interior is upscale. As we sat down, we were served a dinner roll and some of their compound butter. For starters, we shared the Fried Argentinian Shrimp & Artichokes. It was wonderful. It came with a nice dipping sauce. I would definitely recommend. We both had their version of a Caesar Salad with added anchovies. For entrées, we both ordered their specials of the day. We got the Chilean Sea Bass and their Veal Osso Buco. The Sea Bass was nicely cooked and had a bell pepper coulis. The Osso Buco was served on a bed of risotto. The service was friendly and speedy. As a heads-up, they only have iced tea in plastic bottles. Most diners ordered wine with their meals. The owner was nice enough to speak to everyone at the end of the evening.

One of my new favorite restaurants. This place is in a strip mall, very unassuming looking. I found it based on the Yelp reviews so we decided to check it out. I honestly can't name another restaurant in Palm Harbor, but really this is the only one I need. A couple days before I found a reservation on Open Table for 7:30 p.m. I highly recommend making a reservation. This place is small. There was one table for two open, but otherwise it was fully booked. Even though it doesn't look like much outside, inside it's very nice. The clientele did seem to be older retirees, but now that I'm older myself I no longer care what the rest of the restaurant looks like. They have a lot of specials. This isn't the case of a restaurant that only has what's on the menu. Our waitress was great at telling us the prices as she listed each off menu item. She did it all off the top of her head, which was very impressive. Unfortunately, they were out of the lobster bisque (an off menu item) when I tried to order it, so we stuck with the Wild Mushroom Tart, Penne Vodka, Duck A L'Orange and Tiramisu for dessert. Everything was very decadent. The Wild Mushroom Tart was small, but it tasted like the pastry was made from scratch. It was very creamy. I wish I saved my bread to dip into that cream sauce. The Penne Vodka has a kick to it, but was also delicious. My husband really enjoyed it. The Duck A L'Orange was a lot bigger than I was expecting. It was tender and great as well, but I'll probably try something different next time. The Tiramisu was very decadent as well. It randomly had a slight mint taste to me. I liked it, but I would also try a different dessert next time. They have a great selection of port. I actually got port with dessert, which I almost never do, but I was craving it. Prices are very reasonable for this type of dining experience. With tax and tip we left spending about $150 (we had two glasses of wine too). I was very impressed with the evening altogether. The chef even comes out to greet every table. This is one of those places that I'll have to bring my dad next time he's in town. I think he'd enjoy it.

Fabulous fine dining Place not to be missed. I called and left a message to request a reservation for Friday night to celebrate a big anniversary. Massimo himself phoned me back to confirm the reservation. We had the mushroom tart and the duck appetizer, a plate of pasta with butter and fresh pepper. Entrée was the veal chop and filet mignon both came accompanied with delightful, fresh vegetables and a fabulous mashed potatoes. Do not miss the bread and the fine butter that they made with truffles and spices is fantastic. Lemon cello cake for dessert along with a fabulous bottle of wine. Small intimate dining room Massimo comes out, greets all the diners which is spectacular. The staff is attentive. They let us take our time with dinner It is a wonderful place to celebrate almost any occasion.

Wonderful experience. Beautiful restaurant. I love our server Bertrand. Service was impeccable. It's so easy to park because of the location. Food very tasty. My favorite dish was the tuna tartare which they call by its Italian name. My second favorite dish was the Apple strudel dessert. My husband enjoyed it with the vanilla ice cream it is supposed to be served with. I substituted mango sorbet for the ice cream, for a slight up charge. The mango sorbet was delicious, and the perfect apple strudel was sweeter than some other strudels I've had. Great liquor and wine selection, including many interesting options by the glass, bottle or half bottle. I appreciate the variety of vegetarian menu choices.

Beautiful atmosphere , amazing staff that were attentive and so full of descriptions when it came to menu questions and letting us know the specials ! All the food was hot , full of flavor , and arrived quickly ! I love that the chef himself comes out to check on you and that he is the only one cooking the food ! Will for sure be back again to try more on the menu !

The new owners are clearly trying to please customers, and we appreciate their efforts. Service is still friendly, and the place feels welcoming. However, some changes are baffling. A successful restaurant succeeds for a reason. Why alter the winning formula. They removed pizza (a big favorite for many), kept similar-sounding dishes but without the same exceptional flavors, and it seems they didn't retain the longtime chef and staff that made it special. The result is good, but not the standout experience we loved. We're not here to criticize harshly. Running a restaurant is tough. But the old saying fits perfectly: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." We hope they'll bring back some signature elements. Until then, we'll be visiting less often. 3 out of 5 stars. Potential remains, but the magic has faded.

The prices are actually very reasonable, and I was even a little shocked at that. It was fantastic. She ended up getting the veal Parmesan with angel hair and a side Caesar salad for $20.99 and that was fantastic as well. I think my only issue with my experience is we came in with about 45 minutes before they closed and the minute the restaurant closed. I read that the Chef is the wife/owner and the husband/owner runs front of house. I read they offered GF bread, pasta and other options. We went in right after they opened for the evening at 5:30pm. There was a couple at the bar and 5 gentlemen at a table. The ambiance and decor is nice and comfortable. There's a full bar. As we sat a young man brought water and menus right away, then brought a bread plate. I asked if he could bring GF bread. He returned and let me know there was none available. Not a big deal. The owner greeted us and I asked about the menu. On Yelp a menu shows clearly marked GF options, but none were on this revised menu. It did have a notation that GF options were available upon request. He said to just pick what I like and he'll see if it can be GF. I'll be honest, I "think" the server(s) must have called in sick because it was just the owner and the young kid, and the owner seemed very disorganized about serving and it wasnt even busy yet. It took a good 10-15 minutes until he was able to make his way back to us to order wine and a cocktail. His response to hubby's cocktail was that he's not a bartender and cant make a Moscow Mule. I asked if he had GingerBeer (I would walk him through it) but he said no. Hubby drank water, I had a glass of Pinot Noir. I knew things like Lasagne, Ravioli, etc could not be made GF, but the 3 plain pasta options weren't appealing to me. So I asked about the Eggplant appetizer and could it be made a dinner. He said he could make it dinner sized. Sounds good! Hubby got the Veal Scallopini Marsala. It does take awhile to get the food but you are forewarned that everything is fresh and made to order, so we were ok with the wait. My eggplant and sauce had a delicious flavor! However, the portion was small...either they forgot to make it larger (but charged me for it) or it just wasnt sufficient. Sadly, I left hungry. Worse, it was also COLD. I was so surprised! It was so cold that the Mozzarella Cheese was hardened on the inside. And speaking of hard....both hubby and my potatoes were hard and undercooked so we couldnt eat them. The veggies were good, but I also couldnt eat the chewy round parmesan crisps. Husband's Meal was decent, he said the sauce was delicious, but the veal was a bit tough, and again, his potatoes were undercooked and couldnt eat them. So to sum up, service was a bit disorganized and a tad slow (but I really do think someone called in as there was no server or bartender), the food was cold and small portions, BUT.....the flavor was really good! It is a bit of a disappointment to leave a restaurant hungry and paying $80 for a meal. Reading all the excellent reviews I think we just caught them on an off night. My suggestion, take your chances, it is a charming restaurant and the flavor of the food is really good--just try to catch them on a good night! When I go for a nice night out, I want a delicious cocktail. It makes their night feel special. Their bartender is terrible. My drink tasted like they'd used a mix and added vodka. It did not taste fresh or specially made. It tasted packaged. Worse than that, it originally arrived wrong. I ordered the pomegranate martini without the sugar rim. In my opinion, the sugar rim would have made it too sweet. Skipping that step makes the bartender's job easier, right?! I got a sugar rim. When the server arrived and put it down, she immediately noticed and brought it back for the bartender to fix. This is not the first time I've had a bad drink there. The last time we went I got an Italian Margarita. Horrible! I have never had a drink that was actually undrinkable. Now I have. Amaretto has no business in a margarita. A margarita is supposed to be fresh and bright. The Amaretto overpowers everything. One sip and I sent it back. It was replaced with a lemon drop. I did enjoy that very much, but what I didn't enjoy was the rock candy garnish. Again, too sweet. Who do they think they're bartending for, children?! Ditch the sugar!
