My fiancee and I were in the downtown area and were always curious about this place , so we finally went. They had a super cute dog who greeted us lol. I ordered a decaf americano described as having notes of m and ms and my boyfriend got an iced latte. I will say that the drinks are very very expensive. My plain americano was 6 dollars and my fiances latte was 12 dollars. The drinks was also quite small (hand for reference). People say they have the best quality bean wise and I can see why. My fiances drink was really smooth. They only use a2 milk which is fine for me since it doesnt hurt my tummy. My decaf americano was also really good! A bit astringent to my bf but I really liked it, it's hard to find a good decaf. Id probably come back once and a while but only for their americanos. Vibes are chill and nice too

I'll be honest up front and say that my review is based entirely on one espresso and an extended conversation with the owner, Bob, on some really geeky coffee topics. The place is a coffee bar like no other. As some of my fellow Yelpers have mentioned, Bob believes in paying his staff a living wage, and while the prices reflect this, I'm more than willing to pay a little more to support that effort. The theme of the decor is "spaced out", to say the least. It's dark yet colorful, almost like you're on a spaceship (or maybe even in space, if you drink enough espresso). Bob doesn't do alt milks, and will speak about it passionately if asked. They serve A2 milk (tl;dr: easier to digest) from a nearby farm, great in those milk drinks, but today, I was just drinking straight espresso. The shop carries beans from a variety of roasters worldwide, and if you strike up a conversation with Bob, he might even be willing to whip something up from his "vault" of frozen beans, including some very funky/experimental beans. I ended up choosing from the menu, Brandywine's "Apple Pie", a blend of cofermented beans from Costa Rica and Colombia that results in a cup that tastes just like drinking a warm, spicy apple pie slice. Bags are available for sale from other roasters, and they have an impressive menu of food items which I'll have to sample on another visit. This place is totally worth a visit, for both the decor and the coffee, and if you see Bob, tell him the guy that chatted with him about Diego Bermudez's Golden Hour said hello.

This is my go to coffee shop during the week. Bob and Haley do a great job running the place. I appreciate the vibe and they make a mean decaf americano. The breakfast is really good too. This is not a rush in and out place and is part of the experience.

On this Saturday Burnside had a puppy on staff. He was very friendly and was a cute part of the decor. This place seems to be decorated in a retro psi five space theme. There was a t v that was also playing retro shows, including some cartoons that I haven't seen in decades. They also have a live d j on hand. This is a pretty good place to have a cup of coffee and enjoy. A saturday morning. The music made it hard to have a conversation because of the volume. But we may do. They have a pretty good range of coffee in different flavors and using different beans. Do you also serve a small selection of breakfast?Foods. The only thing I would think would be an opportunity here is the beef.Bacon tasted a little on the strange side.... Unlike any, i've ever had before.Otherwise, the coffee and the rest of the food that we tried was very tasty.

I wanted to get coffee from someplace other than Starbucks, so I hopped on Yelp to see what was around me. This place got some good reviews and had unique offerings, so I walked over. I couldn't decided between matcha or coffee, but ultimately chose the lychee coffee because this place is known for its coffee, I felt I needed to give these unique beans a try. I chose lychee+cappuccino. It was initially too bitter for me, so he kindly added some syrup (I think vanilla?) to add some sweetness. I'm used to sweet drinks, so this was still a bit bitter for me. But, I wanted to try and enjoy the flavor notes so refrained from adding anything else. I don't have a very sophisticated palate, so I don't think I taste the pear, star fruit, apricot, or caramel. It's just tastes light, bitter and fruity to me. I don't think these fancy coffees are for me, but I would love the come back and try the matcha. Service was great. Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful. Prices are a bit steep. I paid ~$10 for basically a kids cup sized coffee and only 3/4 of the tiny cup was filled. However, I understand why they're charging so much. I'm glad they have something unique to offer and are paying a decent wage. Could I afford to come here often though? No. But I'm happy to support when I can. Wishing them success in their brick & mortar location :)

The is cafe is large with a cool retro vibe. Plenty of space to hang out with a large group of friends. It's cool that you can pick which type of beans you want. I ended picking one of their specialty lattes. It is definitely pricey, but does already include tip. I went early morning on a weekend and there was only one other person so service was pretty quick.

At first, it seems like it's a tad on the higher end for a latte. The cost was about $9-10 for the one I ordered. However, the price does include tip (so it's pretty much on par with a lot of coffee places in the area). Speaking of which, service was helpful, which is fortunate because I would feel a bit enraged if I was forced to tip for terrible service. They were welcoming, the menu was explained, and they didn't have a problem answering my question. They have some specialty drinks, or you may pick a bean off the menu and select how you want it served (americano, latte, cappuccino, etc). They serve the drinks chilled. They have a note that says it's like a bar for coffee, which is accurate since my drink shaken like a mixed drink would be at a bar). I had the "Vanilla Marshmallow Cupcake" served as a latte. Based just off the name, it sounds like it would be sweet, but it really wasn't. (I picked it because it was noted by the employees it would be more floral and a popular pick.) Under the bean selection of the menu, it notes the flavor profile you can expect, but my taste buds aren't refined enough to make those kinds of distinctions typically. I can't speak for all their drinks, but it's nice that at Burnside there's the ability to choose coffee-forward drinks rather than syrupy-sweet drinks you can find at most places. Burnside is great in terms of the vast selection and offerings, differentiating it from a coffee place that has the standard same drinks across the board.

Wow! I was so amazed by this coffee bar! A group of us were looking for a breakfast spot on the way to a CARB hearing and stumbled upon burnside coffee. They serve coffee and breakfast sandwiches, but what really amazed me was the care and attention they take in creating your meal. Everything felt super intentional and the quality was superb! Everything was made fresh to order and was made with purpose. They even took special care to adapt to dietary needs. Not to mention it was absolutely delicious! I'm so happy this coffee bar found us and we were able to enjoy breakfast that would carry us through an important meeting.

When you walk in, it does have great theming and a cool vibe. The coffee choices are fairly extensive however with no one in line I had hesitation. I thought it would give it a chance and I ordered a coffee. This is not a normal coffee shop do not expect to get a coffee. Sure maybe they make fancy lattes or something else but what I got tasted like water down vanilla flavored Coca-Cola with a shot of espresso. I paid over nine dollars. Yes $9.00 for about 6 ounces of actual beverage. When you go here make sure you expect to pay top shelf price with an out of the ordinary flavor of coffee for a very minimal drink in today's market. I would say this is about a three dollar drink, I paid over nine there are other designer coffee shops in downtown Sacramento that are by far, way better than going here for coffee. I did not try other items on the menu. I can only speak on the coffee experience which was a catastrophic collapse from my initially high expectations

Really delicious coffee and breakfast food! I will say the coffee really steals the show here. The food is pretty good but a bit pricy for a breakfast sandwich even though it is delicious. Service was a very mellow pace as they have a very chill vibe here which I enjoyed. They know their stuff regarding to coffee but also keep in mind they are very particular about their offerings! So they didn't offer oat milk and totally fine but I also felt kind of like they were shaming me when I asked if they offered oat milk lol they said it's so bad for you that they refuse to carry it in their establishment. Like my bad I was just asking and not everybody's a coffee connoisseur haha. Overall great coffee and vibe was chill even if they were a bit offended I asked if they carried oat milk

Great breakfast sandwich, and the bread made it all the better. I added the habanero inspired salsa, which was a great addition and not at all spicy. The coffee also was great, and while I hadnt heard of A2 milk, it made a noticeable difference. There is plenty of seating for reading or meetings as well.

This place is unmatched with its vibes food and the amazing quality if their simplistic espresso beverages. They serve their coffees chilled without ice and the flavor is there! I had the galactic which is butter, milk, and brown sugar with espresso. Out of this world ! Galactic is correct. The prices include tip which is handy and seems like a lot but really coffee is 7-8 and we tip already which makes the 9$ latte reasonable. The sando i got was pricey when adding the extras and something I'll indulge in on occasion. My over-all review is 5:5 because i have been wasting so much coffee lately due to inconsistency and even though its small, it was the perfect size . FYI service is awesome and the fur baby that lives there is the cutest!

Burnside has officially moved to their own location off of 9th and K! It's a very spacious spot, dark and moody lounge feel just like their logo and they definitely executed their brand and vibe! Parking can be tricky in this area but we got metered parking just a block away. It has been exciting to see them continue to grow from the coffee cart I found them at just a couple years ago. They have brought the same high quality and coffee focused drinks to their location here and I appreciate their attention to detail in each piece of each drink. My husband is really into coffee so the owner was able to find a bean that suited his preferences, which he ended up really enjoying in latte form! I had the Midnight Munchies latte for myself and I loved the caramel cold foam. It isn't too sweet and the drink itself is just so creamy and light. Yes it can be pricey especially if you start adding on things like syrup and cold foams BUT you will note on the menu these prices already include tax and tip. Also, they already use A2 milk which is lactose free, so no milk alternative upcharges necessary! it really is a quality product here and I wish them lots of success!!

Unfortunately, brown sugar boba was not available was all out for the day according to the cashier.. but no sign stating that they were sold out. To keep the order going while I was calling them, I asked for a mochi waffle and the guy threw his hands up annoyed and was like do you not want the boba for drink? I told the cashier I'll have the crystal boba instead of the brown sugar since it's currently unavailable, and the guy goes with an attitude... soo do you want the crystal boba? I said yess...yes I do. The Iced Dubai Chocolate Matcha was alrightt. It is definitely not all that it is hyped up to be. The drink IMO was just a basic iced matcha with chocolate drizzle on the side of the cup and the pistachio foam that barely tasted like pistachio.

I was welcomed in and when I let them know it was my first time they recommended some items for me. I'm not a matcha fan, so I was more interested in trying their coffee. I ordered their date orange latte ($7), the twice hojicha ($7.50), and their simple avocado toast ($9). I had heard hojicha is a less grassy, more earthy/toasty version of matcha so I was excited to give it a try and see if I liked it more than matcha. Good news! Hojicha, at least the twice hojicha from Offbeat was delicious. I enjoyed the taste of tea and the aftertaste that matcha usually has for me wasn't there. I would 100% order this again. The date orange latte (iced) was also delicious and the flavors were perfect for our warm weather. The simple avocado toast had a thick piece of fresh baked bread with a generous layer of avocado on top. I don't frequently order avocado toast but it paired well with the drinks and is a great meal to start the day. I can see why this is a favorite for so many people and now that I've finally been in, I'll be back for more!

Temple is one of those places where the espresso tastes like someone with a chemistry degree and a poet's soul got together and decided the rest of us deserved better mornings. The baristas manage to be both calm and alarmingly competent. You ask one tiny question about beans and suddenly you're getting a TED Talk from a caffeinated forest monk. And the people here actually talk to each other. Not in the fake networking-event way where everyone's secretly scanning for status. More like artists, students, organizers, remote workers, philosophers, exhausted grad students, startup people, and neighborhood regulars all accidentally sharing the same living room. Clean space. Serious coffee. Zero snob energy. Headquarters of the Revolution. Special mention to Sam, who was managing Temple Coffee Roasters when I walked in. You can tell immediately when someone genuinely enjoys helping people, and Sam absolutely does. She told me she loves adjusting drinks to fit exactly what people want instead of treating coffee like some untouchable sacred formula -- stronger, softer, sweeter, whatever makes the person in front of her happy. And she said something deeper still: helping people feel good is actually pretty easy... although sometimes it's hard. That kind of sums service up. Sam has that rare combination of warmth, competence, patience, and calm that quietly changes your mood. All of a sudden you feel like being kinda kinder. Came in on a Monday around 3 PM after getting off work early and was able to find parking and a place to sit pretty easily. Shoutout to Steven for his amazinggg service like where do you guys find baristas this efficient and talented with customer interactions ! I asked him how the matchas were and he let me know the cafe is more coffee-oriented, but said people still order the matchas a lot. He recommended the Vanilla Bourbon latte with sweet cold foam and it was fireeee. I recommend adding cinnamon powder on top. The vibe here is also really unique. I know the car in the middle might throw some people off at first, but I honestly love the minimal/open layout and how there's space between tables instead of cramming everyone together. The aesthetic is super nice, and there's also a giant mirror if you want cute pics with your friends. The drinks are a little pricey for the size, so this will probably be more of a treat-yourself spot for me, but overall I had a great experience. Good wifi, good seating, great vibes all around. Would definitely recommend checking it out. Thanks Chloe !

It was 5 bucks which is unheard of in midtown! Cute vibes inside and lots of people working and friends hanging out etc. The fancy car in the middle of the shop is fun for a second and then it's like can we move this for more seating? It's a nice idea but it takes up too much of the space and doesn't totally make sense. So minus one star for that. I think when it's nice out then there is outdoor seating which probably makes the ambience nicer but I was there on a rainy day.

You can either order with the staff or they have a kiosk to order from as well. Staff is super friendly! They let me taste their teas to see what I would like for my tea base drinks. Coffe drinks I tried: 1) Durian coffee -this was one the THE BEST variation of durian coffee that I've tried - liked that the blended the durian flavor in the cream foam and included pieces of fruit -the smell isn't over baring and just enough flavor mixed into the coffee where you don't feel duped, but has a well balance coffee to durian taste 2) Egg coffee -a solid egg coffee!! Would recommend 3) Coconut coffee -this is a blended ice drink -I typically like coconut Vietnamese coffee, however this wasn't the best variation I have as I did wish it was a little sweeter 4) Taro coffee -rather than a cream top like some of their other drinks, this was more of taro paste with bits in the Vietnamese coffee -it wasn't too sweet so had a stronger coffee taste Tea bases: -was told they seep their tea for about 8 hours to give it that strong flavor ! -green tea - usually not a green tea person when it comes to boba drinks (only by itself) since at times the fruit flavor over mask the tea but this place makes it potent -black tea - they say this one it not popular which is a bummer cause I love black tea -herbal tea- good flavor -jasmine - didn't get to try this tea base but I am sure it taste just as good as the others 1) Peach green tea -beyond refreshing! -loved the fruit bits and peach sliced in the drink 2) Lychee green tea -lychee fruit and lychee jelly included! -Loved the strong tea taste with the fruitiness Pandan waffle Durian waffle -both of these were delicious, good flavor and best right away while it is hot! Overall: One of the best Vietnamese coffee places in the area that I enjoy going to. Quality drinks that do not disappoint.

Lovely Vietnamese cafe!…read more We ordered an egg coffee and banana matcha, both good. The interior and seating are cute with a few options to sit. The design is old fashioned yet modern with a digital ordering interface. While the banana matcha was not my taste, the egg coffee was great! The coffee was strong yet good with a pandan waffle side! I anticipated staying up all night and did. This is for those who drink espresso or ca phe sua regularly. The tasty waffle helped balance the caffeine a little. The bathroom is cute and decorated with so much aesthetic, but the downside is no toilet seat covers.
