Off of the hundreds of Chinese buffet, this one is one of the better ones. The are plenty of options and while it does tasty a little greasy, they don't all taste the same. Each item that I tried had its own taste and distinction. All the items on the buffet are the same ones you find any where else. Our buffets was hot and replaced quickly if it got empty. Six of us came here yesterday for the lunch buffet. Usually we have no complaints and have been coming here for many years. Unfortunately our meal was not very good this time. The honey chicken was undercooked. The broccoli and cheese was horrible. The broccoli literally was raw and hard with a cheese sauce. Very weird and disgusting. The Mongolian beef was not edible at all and was chewy or "gummy". A lot of our food was very cold. The noodles were flavorless. Not sure what was going on but for over $100 everyone wasn't too happy. Usually we enjoy our food but other tables were also complaining. The servers aren't that friendly. It's pretty good Chinese. I had the lunch buffet and it was pretty good. Service was good and I thought it was very attentive. Ambience is ok but it's pretty too in many ways. Not too much privacy, but moderate, I guess. I highly recommend the sweet and sour soup, and most of the dishes I tried were quite good I hope I can return soon. read more

I eat here quite often. I've never had a bad experience. The waitresses know what me and my boyfriend drink and have it at the table by the time we get to our table with the food. Our finished plates never sit on the table long before they are swept away and our drinks are never empty. The food is always delicious and the service is A+. If you don't go at a peak time the food is terrible!!! I have been there multiple times and have only once tasted good food! The crack of the table I was sitting at this time had so much dirt it looked like confetti. The signs that are posted everywhere say not to waste food, which makes me think they never throw anything away and it just sits there til someone eats it. Unbelievable this place has only a 2.5 star rating. Everything from the sushi to the stuffed mushrooms has been absolutely fantastic. I have yet to taste anything that isn't hot, fresh, and delicious the cheese Rangoons are off the charts, along with the pineapple chicken. Shoot even the diet Pepsi was perfect. We are here on a Monday afternoon so we kind of expected some sub par offerings. Thankfully this was not the case at all Definitely going to try this place of Mastery again! If I can rate lower I would metal piece found in my meat hurt my tooth and I have to travel back home in Chicago to see the damage. So we decided to try the Master Buffet rest next to our hotel. The inside is not as brightly lit but not too dark. Clean and well organized. The food: - Surprisingly have a lot of varieties. - Has salad bar - few islands with hot foods and soups. - desert wall - Mongolian BBQ and a small sushi corner. - The flavor are good. May be 8 / 10 scale. The staffing: - All of the people there are fine. - Very attentive. - except one guy ...... He is in charged of cooking the Mongolian BBQ. I didn't see the sign that written " the chef is the one that take or pour the different kinda souce. From Chef special to Garlic flavor to Teriyaki. I scooped the sauce myself. Boy he wasn't pleased and wouldn't talk to me. He wouldn't even take my plate for cooking. He was saying something ( I couldn't understand him ), while pointing to the sign with his spatula. I didn't say anything afraid he might spit on my meal. Finally I left my plate there and it was cooked later on. My point is, if you are in a consumer restaurant business, a little bit of smiling & helping will go a long way. Over all a good alternative restaurants amongst others in the area. The service is always good but the food can be cold at times. The crab rangoons can be a hit or a miss. They are undercooked or they change out the recipe on how they make them. They tasted better years ago! Eat here and when you leave you are guaranteed to have a bowel movement. And when does this restaurant ever clean out their soda fountain heads? Their Pepsi soda does not taste like Pepsi at all! A couple of the pictures on the wall has food stuck on them. Been that way as long as I have been eating there. I have been wanting to try this place for a long time. A little about myself when I go for Chinese food I go to Chinatown in Chicago. This place was fantastic, it is not the best Chinese food I have had but it sure beats a lot of restaurants in Chinatown. What a selection. They had sushi, appetizers, main food, salad bar and desert bar that included ice cream. The waitresses and hostess were very nice and helpful. I came here for lunch with a few older Caucasian friends of my aunt and they have been to this place a few times before. I am Asian so I am exposed to delicious Asian food and buffets all my life. When I ate at the buffet here, boy, I felt like I was gaining five pounds after every plate. Everything was very oily and greasy. Their selections are about 3 rows of stir fried/fried stuff, sushi, Mongolian noodles (where you pick with you want in your noodles and they will immediately fry it up for you on a large flat pan), and 2 rows of fruits and desserts. They also have 8 selections of ice cream flavors! Some of the stuff were a bit dried/overcooked - like the wontons I got were super dried that I couldn't finish eating it. My favorite would be the stir fried veggies that they offered. Granted that it was oily and probably wasn't as healthy as I wanted and who goes to a buffet to just eat veggies? Sushi has about 10 different selections but most of them are cooked stuff so you won't have to risk nonfresh fish. They did have raw salmon but the color didn't look to fresh so I avoided it. read more

Okay so the food isn't bad. The atmosphere and interior is pretty nice. But the woman and waitress running this place are the worst. All them have the same lifeless expressions. I might be in the wrong here but none of my family tips at buffets. If they would have a busing station for me to throw my dirty dishes in, then there would be no need for a waitress at all. With that being said. My brother went there and wasn't going to tip. The waitress slammed his debit card, receipt, and pen on the table and shouted "gratitude" at him. My brother now very embarrassed because the entire restaurant was starring now felt forced to leave a tip. After a few months he came back... He was planing on paying with his debit card and then sneaking out to the car with out giving a tip. As he was in the parking lot the waitress chased him to the car screaming " GRATITUDE GRATITUDE GRATITUDE" after him...I went there also not planing on leaving a tip. As the waitress took the receipt away she obviously cursed at me in her language with an over dramatic eye roll. The customer service here is the worst I've had to deal with. read more

Chinese buffets are all cut from the same cloth or at least order from the same decor catalogs, once you've been to one you've pretty much been to all of them. This statement holds true for Master Buffet. Although I was holding out hope due to the name, "Master Buffet". Either the Master has grown old and lost a step or two, or he's not really a master.... but I digress. Typical food available, nothing outstanding, nothing so horrible I wouldn't go back, again typical. C+ Food I wanted to try the Hot and Sour Soup, but it appeared it had been steaming on the buffet just a bit to long.... so darn!!! can't review that. Coconut Shrimp, General Tso Chicken, Special Chicken(that's the name) I couldn't determine the "specialness" of the dish. Honey Chicken, Crab Rangoon was some of the best from a buffet I've had. A+ The only real danger is playing Russian Roulette with the serving spoon germs on the buffet. Why don't buffets provide disposable gloves? Again I digress.... What the heck??!! I haven't been to a Chinese buffet for over 4 years and I am now reminded why I don't go to any. The local frequenters of this business have HORRIBLE palate! Everything I tried is either too sweet, salty or a combination of both. It's great if you love oily, greasy, salty and overly sweet food. After tossing my first plate, I decided to get steamed rice and vegetables instead. BIG mistake. I have never in my life had steamed rice that has some sort of sweetener it in. Disgusting. Even their vegetables are seasoned with some sort of sugar. The meats available are so dried out and coated with a sugar sauce. A bite reminds me of eating candied walnuts. The beef is chewy and hard to swallow. The pork egg rolls have scant little minced pieces. Maybe this is the only authentic Chinese cuisine around. If you're passing by and you're stopping for food, avoid this place or come here if my description of the food appeals to you. Really baffled at the bad reviews... We've gotten take out about 5 times from here and ate in the place 2 times.. the take out is great. Their lunch specials are HUGE and a great price and taste great. We get them during the less expensive lunch time and then warm them up for dinner. GREAT! The Buffet is unbelievable. HUGE!!! If your not really hungry DON'T go!! I couldn't believe all the stuff they had.. at least 6 kinds of shrimp.. Pizza and other good things if you have kids! Alot of desert choices too. Skip this place, go further into Peru and try the other buffet well worth the extra five minute drive.

No idea why we go here except it's a convenience and quick. The food is awful it's never fresh it's never hot. They have signs at the buffet that say take all you eat eat all you take. I want the sign to say I would eat it if it was hot. If it is bad it's overpriced. I really don't see how they stay in business accept the fact that they are a convenience. I know I for one am guilty of frequency this particular establishment over the other Chinese buffet only for the fact they have a better selection of sushi. The hot food is cold and the cold food is warm don't even get me started on the ice cream freezer. I can't even look in the ice freezer it's absolutely disgusting. The ice cream Scoops are sitting in dirty water with a trickle of clean water which I guess that's supposed to be better. I'possibly make the scoops cleaner. Bad bad bad bad bad. THIS PLACE IS DISGUSTING Came here with my family for dinner and most of the food looked like it had been sitting out for days. The rice and noodles were dried up, there was NO SUSHI left, and the hot and sour soup tasted like cleaning detergent. 1/3 of the dishes were empty, and the servers seemed annoyed when you asked them to bring out more food to refill the dishes. The bowls and plates were dirty, and the newly washed bowls they brought out even had soap sitting in them. The servers were also really rude and disrespectful - my mother asked for some more crab legs, and every time they brought our more crab legs, they were stingy and only brought out 6-8 crab legs at a time, not even enough to fill an entire plate. When my mother asked the 3rd time, they told us that we were NOT ALLOWED to eat anymore crab legs! I did not realize that buffets contained LIMITS ON HOW MUCH YOU CAN EAT. Do NOT come here! its a waste of your money, and you are likely going to leave with diarrhea. read more

I like coming here. The people are very friendly and the service is good. They always keep your drinks refilled but sometimes they bring the check a little bit early. Don't go too late because then the food is old and they don't bring out new food when they are going to close in a half an hour. They remodeled the place and are now calling it Master Buffet but it is still most of the same people working there. They have a large selection of food and my only issue is that they charge more on Sunday and for dinner because of crab but I don't agree with that because I never get crab legs because they are too messy for me. I think you should get the option of paying a little less if you don't get certain stuff but I guess you can't do that. Other than that I have no problems with the place and I probably come here once every week or every two weeks. read more
