Was traveling for business in Tempe AZ during COVID. This was the second time I tried Master Taco, the last time being also during COVID in January. I eat all different types of Mexican food (Taco Bell to 5 star restaurants) and normally like it all. Not the case with Master Taco. I ordered a combo of rolled tacos, tostada and crispy taco. I figured how could you mess that up (remember Taco Bell passes for me). As I was eating the beef taco, I notice a really weird flavor, so distracting that I couldn't finish eating the taco, nor the rest of my food. Later that night, I woke up with horrible stomach pain. Nothing gross, just really uncomfortable. I'd recommend avoiding this place and find somewhere else. read more

Ordered a Carnitas burrito. Tortilla, meat and salsa. $9.49. No other fillings. Salsa all at one end of burrito. Carnitas did not taste fresh. Where I'm from a burrito this price has rice, beans, sour cream, cheese, guacamole and some cilantro. Can't wait to go back home and. have a real burrito with layers of flavor. read more

Dang! Where do I start? My office is very close to this Master Taco, so we decided to give it a try. SO glad we did. It's SO hard not to spend every lunch there! When others ask where I want to go to lunch I try to act all nonchalant and suggest other restaurants, but my heart is screaming "MASTER TACO!" I haven't had a bad meal there yet! I've been going there since they opened and haven't experienced the whole no-mask-pandemic-service others have written about. They have always had masks on whenever I've been there and I feel safe eating and dining in as they have removed extra tables to ensure social distancing. I'm a pretty memorable dude. Even with a mask on, they remember me and ask if I'd like one of my regular orders. I feel like Norm from "Cheers" every time I enter. Very friendly staff and talented cooks. SO...if you want a veritable flavor fiesta dancing the merengue on your freaking tongue..check them out! You'll be so glad you did. read more

I'm giving Master Taco 2 stars only because their tacos are tasty, other than that it was a bad experience. i went there for the 1st time on Cinco de Mayo during the COVID-19 epidemic. i saw 3 employees working during the dinner rush. none of them were wearing masks or gloves. apparently they don't care about their customers' health. at 1 point there were about 12 customers waiting for their food. there is not enough space in this location for 12 people to adequately social distance. i was 1 of 2 customers wearing a mask. that was disappointing, too. i want to give some allowance because i understand restaurants are still figuring out how to adapt to this COVID situation, but the fact that none of the employees were taking even basic safety measures has me thinking i won't go back. read more

Master Taco opened at this location pretty recently. It's a good place to grab something quick and easy. On Tuesdays, they offer $1.49 tacos! I have gotten the pollo tacos and they're pretty good! The chips and salsa at this place are really great. Flavorful spicy salsas and fresh chips. I was impressed. The carne asada was tasty but a little dry and the Al pastor was great. I think the street taco tortillas are either handmade there or locally made. They were great. The biggest negative of this place was the weird white sauce they have for their shrimp tacos. Not sure why people are giving this place 5 stars. The first time I ate there I ordered the ground beef tostada and a carne asada burrito. I wasn't impressed. The ground beef was bland and very oily. The burrito was packed with carne asada and nothing else in it. The burrito was very dry. I decided to order the same meal thing a week later to see if it was a fluke. Sadly it wasn't. The beef was just as bland . It tasted like it had been cooked and just simmering in its own juices. It needed salt, pepper, chili powder, a little cumin and chipotle seasoning. Also the carne asada burrito was dry and this time I could make out some strings of lettuce, a couple of tomato pieces and nothing else was in with the meat. It too needed something to make it more palatable. Honestly I would recommend going to Filibertos down the street for a more flavorful meal. read more

Master taco passed all my expectations. As a vegetarian there are limited taco places that offer veggie options. I enjoy both the bean burrito and the vegetarian burrito. My husband and son enjoy the rolled chicken tacos. The chips and salsa are also really good. We go here at least once a month for quick but quality food. read more

I trusted tik tok on this one and it let me down. I ordered a chicken taco and a carne asada taco. The amount of meat that comes in the order was astounding so that was cool to see. You're definitely getting the amount you pay for. However, the meat on both tacos tasted like the breakfast plate that came out before me. It was nothing short of a greasy mess honestly. They advertise a vegetarian burrito but the beans have lard in them (I asked) which means it's not vegetarian/vegan. If a place does not offer food for vegetarians or vegans fine but it's misleading when they call a burrito vegetarian when it not. This misleading information can also make someone sick, especially when they haven't had animal products in several years and then they are fed hidden pig fat grease. read more

I told the lady I didn't want it then, she didn't even offer me a small amount that would have been .99 (it is only .99 if you ads it to a food item.)
