This place deserves a zero star. I had an appointment for over a week. I dropped my car off at 8:30am. 4 hours later, they hadn't even touched my car for an oil change and smog. The mechanic argued with me saying he never said how long it would take. I would never recommend this place. The ladies in the office are kind. The mechanic has sh*t for brains and has horrible customer service skills. I wouldn't trust him with my car for a second. Your reply is unjustified. You held my vehicle hostage for 4 hours. You offered poor service then you offered attitude. No amount of cameras can save this poor review that you deserve. read more

I've taken two of my cars here this year and my experience with them was fantastic! The tech actually saved me an $800 expense from the dealership because he told me why my check engine light was on AND printed out the flow chart on how to fix it. Long story short, all the dealership needed to do was clean the part and not fully replace it. I originally picked this place because of the coupon, but I was so happy with my experience that I chose not to use it all. Wow! The service here is very fast. When I came here they said it will be done in 20 mins because someone is ahead of me. Well, I got done in less than 10 mins! Dont forget to unlock the code for the smog! There is also a Complimentary drinks inside while you wait. I've talked 3 staff members here and they are not rude. I just got my smog check done here. I bought it on Groupon and made an appointment. But honestly, this place has probably the best deal in town even without the Groupon! $25 is a great deal. This was seriously THE BEST experience one could have getting a smog check! We were the only customers in the tiny lobby but I saw 2 cars in the garage being worked on. The friendly lady in charge of this family-owned/operated business greeted us right away, and I handed over my DMV paperwork and key. About 5 minutes later she gave me the good news that the car passed and rang me up. Talk about friendly, fast, and efficient service! I was prepared to love this place after I read the reviews, couldn't wait for my cup of complimentary coffee while I waited and was even more happy it only cost $25 with a Yelp check-in. I called ahead to schedule a time and was told to come in any time. My expectations were dashed from the moment I walked in. There was a hand written sign above the pictured coffee bar that read $.50. Not free at all, & very tacky. The girl at the desk had black raccoon eye make-up running down her face and was not friendly to say the least. She asked me if I had an appointment, though I had been told moments earlier on the phone, I didn't need one. She made me feel as though she was doing ME a favor, instead of me spending money with THEIR business. She took my information and asked several times the make and model of my car. I mentioned the Yelp price check-in to her, as she most certainly was not going to volunteer that information to me. She printed the receipt, gave me a pen and asked me to sign. As I was signing it, I voiced my concerns about my car passing, at which point she informed me, oh wait, my car didn't qualify for the Yelp price. She said it was "clearly stated on Yelp" that the year of my car was not included. I didn't see that info listed and she didn't explain to me where it said that. I asked her to honor the price that I had signed for and she began to argue with me, even though it was her mistake. I assume it was Shannon, (who has amazing reviews), yell from the back of the office, to honor it. For this fact and this alone, I gave one star. $25 + $9.50 is a small price to pay for a smog certificate, but with the awful front desk customer service, I would have rather paid more to be treated kindly as a human being and customer. What a shame. Maybe keep Shannon in the front and reconsider who you have as the face of your business. read more

I was referred to Master Tech Smog & Repair by Marco Muffler on Fulton Ave, saying they were a good, reliable place to get diagnostics done on a failed smog test. I took my 1997 4Runner there and they took the time to let my 4Runner warm up sufficiently, then correct the 1 small faulty hose, and it then passed with flying colors!!! The smog test place I had originally taken it to, just rushed my car through with a cold engine, saying it needed several repairs including 2 hoses, and a probable catalytic converter replacement, after just letting my vehicle run for only a few minutes!!! Won't go there ever again!! My recommendation for smog stations and repairs if needed, is definitely Master Tech Smog & Repair at 5851 Fair Oaks Blvd in Carmichael. Honest, efficient, responsible, and just some really nice people!!!! read more
