MasterPark Fee Structure
Bill K.

You may wish to reconsider parking at MasterPark due to the company's fee structure. Specifically, MasterPark adds a "Living Wage Surcharge" (+ tax), to your bill. After reviewing 8 of MasterPark's competitors, MasterPark is the only company assessing a "Living Wage Surcharge." As such, I have to question their stated rationale for assessing this surcharge when 8 of their competitors do not assess this surcharge or is this assessment just an excuse for charging the customer more money?

Ask the Community - MasterPark Lot B

Do they accept Apple pay?

Yes

How is the self parking handled at this location?

There is no self-parking here. You drive up to a covered (but open) entry area, and they take over from there. When you return, they typically have your car ready at another covered area on the other side of the reception building.

After 30 minutes I called again and was told the "shuttle was on its way, but was delayed because of traffic". Almost 11p.m. when we were finally picked up, and surprisingly the "traffic" was no where to be seen after we left the airport. Not only that, the attendants for some reason changed the memory seat settings in our car. Why would anyone mess with those?!? Both settings were changed to make the seat move all the way forward and sit straight up. I will NEVER patronize this business/service again, and I'd advise everyone against using them either! Zero stars.

They've completely gone downhill and I'm sad that we will never, NEVER, use them again. In May of 2025, we parked our Tesla there for a week. We checked and saw that the car was being driven someplace. Apparently, they were parking it elsewhere but never notified us. Fine. My husband picked up the car and came to pick our kids and I up at the airport (since you have to shuttle it to the lot, then pick up the car, it was easier to just let us wait at the airport with all our luggage and he come with the car himself). As he picked us up and we were loading the car, we noticed a bunch of scratches on the car. We've made numerous attempts to contact them and they simply do not care. We even took the car in the next day to show the manager and they ensured they'd reach back out and nothing. Pay extra and go somewhere else. Accidents happen but to ghost us after letting us know you'd find a solution is not ok. They've lost a loyal customer and I wouldn't risk parking my car here again.

It may have been a random fluke, however, my first experience was a disaster at best. After riding 2 stops on the 1 Line, we were all instructed to get off at Ranier Beach stop as there was some sort of police activity prohibiting us from riding further and we at this point were asked to cross the street and wait for a shuttle. About 10 min later, a shuttle arrived however not everyone could fit so this shuttle was jam packed with people! We were told that this shuttle would take us to the Columbia City station and from there, the 1 Line would resume. As it was traffic hour when this all happened, shuttle was slow moving, so probably another 20-30 min later, we arrived. A train was waiting for us and after that detour, the ride was smooth all the way to my destination. I made the mistake of getting off one stop before I intended, so that added another 10min to trip, completely my own stupid fault. So a trip from the airport that should have taken a little under an hour took close to 2 hours for me. Was an interesting experience and for $3, I really shouldn't complain. I also saved my company $100 but also wasted 90min on public transit. And time is money. I think this might have just been a little bad luck and a less frequent occurrence, but it definitely made me not want to take this form of transit ever again. They do get one star because when I mapped it out on Google maps, there was clear warning there was a delay and detour. It was just my poor choice to take a chance and see what happens. However, if the opportunity presents itself again and there were no issues with the Link light rail, I might consider this option again.

For this last trip, we reserved ahead of time for the Garage - AS WE ALWAYS DO. Upon arrival to pick up our car, we followed the standard procedure of calling to request a pick up at the airport. After 20 minutes of not seeing a Garage shuttle (but 3 shuttles for Lot B), we called to say we were still waiting (in the January cold, mind you) and the person who answered the phone (male) abruptly responded with, "I'll send a shuttle." and then proceeded to HANG UP on my husband. Five minutes later, a shuttle FINALLY shows up at the pickup location before ours. So we haul our bags down to get on when the shuttle driver says, "I'm full. Wait for the next shuttle." We exclaim we have been waiting for 25 minutes and he relents after loading up another party and finds room for our baggage, as well. And when we board, we find three available seats for two of us to use. Plenty of room for two travelers. When we arrive to pay for our parking, my husband is met with a very rude and curt cashier (notable tattoos on his arm) - we highly suspect it is the same male who answered the phone and hung up on my husband - who, literally, slams our receipt on the counter after we pay. Unbelievable. We have NEVER been treated so rudely at MasterPark as we have today. Parking rates at MasterPark have only increased significantly in a short period of time - especially since the pandemic, but we continued to use their services because of the courtesy and convenience. In addition to price, both of those qualities have degraded greatly. Looks like it may be time to explore other options for airport parking and getting to and from SEA!

I did receive the tickets to the Great Wheel but never used them although they are good up to a year from the ticket's insurance date. I guess you get some of your destination fee back with a $14 food and beverage credit when you charge it to your room, but essentially they are forcing you to dine on the property. To top that off, whenever you purchased food and beverage from any of the food outlets, they charge a mandatory service fee which I guess was okay if you consider that as mandatory tip. Anyhow, what I did like about this hotel is that it was really close to the Symphony light rail stop. However, what was unpleasant was having to push my heavy suitcase up the hill. It seemed like the room was a bit run down particularly the bathroom. The water pressure in my shower was sporadic like it needed a water hammer arrestor. My room smelled like moth balls. The lower level lobby was only accessible via stairs. This is an issue if you had luggage like I did. I think you would have to go back outside and walk on the sidewalk to get to the upper level lobby. Although the staff was very friendly, I was disappointed overall with my stay. I was expecting more from the W hotel.
