This place is as real as it gets. No fluff, no pretence. Simple food done well. I've eaten at Masullo half a dozen times, each time I came away wishing more places whether they be pizza, tacquerias, burger stands, sushi bars or whatever would just do what they do like Masullo does pizza. So close to true Italian pizza you'll swear your in Napoli. The best quality ingredients (Fra'Mani salami, La Quercia Prosciutto) fresh roasted peppers( I don't know what the review that said they tasted like canned thinks canned peppers taste like, but it is not this - you can even see them still peeling the peppers if you get there at opening some nights) and hands down the best crust I have ever tasted. It is all done there in that CLEAN! little kitchen. They adhere to the Neapolitan style but are not slaves to it. The tomatoes are San Joaquin grown, not Italian imports, the fior di latte mozzarella is from Bel Fiori in Berkeley. Ask them what they use, I did, they are super friendly and forthcoming. Amazing food! Everything was so fresh and so delicious I couldn't stop eating even though I was full. I felt sad not being able to eat it all and then I remembered I could take it home and have some later. I got the Margherita and my friend had the Pepperoni. We both felt the same about our pizza. We also got the Caprese Di Burrata for appetizer mouth is watering just thinking about it was amazing! I highly recommend it. Not only the food was awesome, but the staff were so nice and friendly, it felt very comfortable and welcoming. Excellent pizza! Masullo pizza really brings an authentic flavor of Italy to Sacramento. I found similar quality only in few places in San Francisco, such as Tony's pizza, but for about double the price. The dough is really well prepared and really tastes like an authentic Naples pizza. I absolutely suggest this pizza place. I saw only a few negative comments about this place mentioning difficulties in parking, the price or the missing refills: it seems to me that a restaurant should be judged by the quality of the food and the atmosphere and not these criteria. Just what this area needed! I live around the corner from this place and I gotta tell ya, in this economy and bleak times, this place really hit the spot. Not expensive and pretentious, just quaint and delicious---in fact, these "personal sized" pizzas are big enough to share. The wait staff has told me that the menu changes according to local seasonal availability and I love that. My favorites are the frisee salad, the margherita pizza, and the pear crisp (??? not sure what it's called)...other favorites are the Lupe and the Jacqueline pizzas. met the owner Robert Masullo this evening. a very friendly neighborhood family man who cares deeply about his business. the staff wad also very knowledge and friendly. our server recommended is something a little different which was delicious. we also shared the chopped salad which wad very refreshing. and had the colgate pudding for dessert which my daughter loved. overall really friendly great neighborhood restaurant. we will definitely be back to try some more pizzas! read more

WOW AMAZING PIZZA After a very bad experience in another pizzeria in Sacramento we decided to give it a shoot to another place before leaving from Sacramento and the quality of this pizza here it was EXCEPTIONAL and absolutely similar to a real Neapolitan pizza that you will find in Italy. Half-priced bottles of Wine Masullo's has a special Monday and Tuesday nights where all the bottle's of wine are half price. We shared the $40 bottle and only spent $20 for our anniversary dinner. They also have plenty of cheaper bottles so you could have a bottle of wine for $7 which is probably the best deal in Sacramento. read more
