the interior is really cute & staff was kind. i originally wanted to order the cinnamon toast crunch matcha latte but the cashier didn't seem to know what i was talking about... it also wasn't on the menu but there's multiple photos of it posted on yelp by the business owner. got the * toasted matchamellow latte * and they put in oat milk instead of almond milk... it looked and tasted weirdly watered down to me. like as if they only poured half milk and the rest with water. also tried the Macai bowl which was good and refreshing. i'd probably come back to give other drinks a try. read more

I ordered the Ube Matcha Latte and my girlfriend ordered the Toasted MatchaMallow Latte. The Ube Matcha is just ok, nothing great. The Matcha is very subtle and the whole drink tastes watered down - half of the drink is ice. I taste as much of the soy milk as matcha, to give you a sense. The purple yam was undetectable. After tip and tax, I would not pay $8 for this drink again! Going to a place with Matcha in the name, I want a big punch of matcha flavor. This is not what you will get. The Toasted MatchaMallow Latte has even less matcha flavor and is also watered down - half ice as well. The marshmallow flavor tastes very artificial without a lot of sweetness, it almost tastes like a chemical, but not quite. Same story for this drink, would not spend $8 after tax and tip! See the picture with an empty drink, at least half ice, if not more. The store is nice and clean. Very crammed and busy though, with limited indoor seating. It seems like the baristas are still getting to know how to make the drinks and seemed inexperienced. They kept referencing the drink sheets, indicating they don't know how to make it without instructions. The barista area was pretty messy and disorganized. Overall, I think they need to refine both their recipes and process to be successful past the initial hype. I would wait it out until they've nailed down a working formula. read more

I am so thrilled that there is a good matcha place closer to home!!! Matcha Magic is the perfect blend of matcha with plant based milks and beautiful decor inside that make this place amazing! I have been to so many matcha locations before and this is at the top of my list! The owner was at the shop and she was so wonderful and nice! Also this is a women owned business! Dropped in here on a whim. I love matcha and saw that it was packed on a Saturday afternoon. This place is a matcha lovers dream. I ordered the ceremonial straight matcha iced with honey. I'm new to the neighborhood and am so thrilled to find that Matcha Magic is too! I came in during their soft opening, and came right back again the next day. The pink building drew me in, but the knowledgeable staff, cute and clean aesthetic, and delicious drinks is what's going to make this spot a neighborhood favorite for me. There are so many fun and creative drinks on the menu. If you're new to matcha, lean on their expert staff! I was greeted right away and they walked me through the menu. In my first visit, I tried the strawberry matcha latte and the white chocolate matcha - they didn't disappoint! The strawberry in particular was so well balanced and refreshing. Is it weird to note that they also have the best ice? The crushed ice makes for such a satisfying stir and has me dreaming of summer! Day two, I tried the matcha julep at the recommendation of the Matcha Magic team. Wow, don't miss out on the 'potions' side of the menu! The julep has the added benefit of blue spirulina and collagen, and the taste is a subtle sweet mint. Everything about this place feels thoughtful and intentional. Yes, the decor and bevs are so instagram-able! But the menu also has something for everybody, while encouraging the benefits of matcha. Loved the vibe of this shop as soon as I entered. Great music playing in the background, pink and green color palette ( monsteras all over!). Very chill spot in Old Bellevue. I came here after a brief stop at the mall nearby. Matcha lovers rejoice because this menu is basically all I ever dream about for a matcha selection. I was told the Strawberry Latte was the best and it was indeed quite delicious. I was torn between this and an Ube Matcha which I hear is best hot. matcha Horchata and the Toasted Marshmallow latte sound amazing but I will hold off for another day! They also have my admittedly favorite things ever, açaí bowls and toast. There's lots of awesome to take in! I'm very glad that I came here and I'll be sure to make Matcha Magic a regular stop when I'm in Bellevue. read more

I've been waiting for this place to open since I saw the signs go up! Matcha Magic is a cute and aesthetic cafe that serves a variety of matcha drinks and also serves food too. I believe they are still in their soft opening so they are still adjusting and figuring things out. I got the Strawberry Matcha Latte and I thought the drink was decent. The matcha isn't too strong and is more subtle so I definitely tasted more of the strawberries. They have alternative milk too, which is always nice. When I got my drink, my drink was way too full that I couldn't close the lid. I ended up making a huge mess on the counter because the lid wouldn't close with how overfilled it was. Also I felt bad constantly asking the employee for napkins because the drink overfilled and they didn't have any napkins lying around.. Putting the straw in was another struggle because it would overflow and I ended up making a huge mess outside too. Also I noticed that my drink was basically 50% ice and 50% the matcha strawberry latte so I was disappointed about that since this drink cost $7 and it was mostly filled with ice. I think it's nice that there's a cute cafe in Old Bellevue, but my overall experience with this place wasn't the greatest. I ended up spilling a lot of my drink and the drink was mostly ice.. I think they've gotten better since I went so I am not saying you shouldn't try this place out! Just that my experience was alright with this place and I'll have to see if I would come back again. read more

We ordered the Purple Haze iced matcha, Matcha Julep, and Miami Ice açaí bowl. Really creative and delicious menu options. The drinks and the açaí bowls have clean layering, and the flavors match up well. The exterior and interior are super cute with the pink/green color combo. Good for pictures! Expensive and not that great of matcha drinks. I was personally disappointed at quite of lot of things - only alternatives milks, high price, and lack of matcha flavor. I ordered the iced toasted matchamallow latte and kind of enjoyed it? But I actually don't like matcha. Which tells me that this drink actually didn't taste like matcha/have a strong matcha flavor. I'm a big fan of matcha so I was excited to see that there was a new (cute) matcha cafe that just opened! The prices here are higher than the average cup of matcha that I would find at other places but there's a lot of attention to detail! They have very unique drinks combinations with the addition of adaptogens and boosters. I thought the matcha was just good but I think the concept made this review better than anticipated. It would be perfect to stop by in the summer since it is so close to Bellevue park and Bellevue Square as well! read more

I've been waiting for this cafe to open and was not disappointed. From the fun and pink decor to the unique, curated drinks, Matcha Magic is very niche and the customer service is top notch. If you're familiar with Boba Guys in California, you'll find that Matcha Magic's strawberry matcha latte is very similar. I'd say the only difference is that this drink has significantly more ice. It would've been better to have kept it light so that the contents would be enjoyed more, but it was still good. The strawberry jam was sweet and had small chunks, and the matcha had a strong taste that was balanced by the oat milk (note that they have other house made milks too). I'd go back to try their extensive menu catered to matcha lovers! read more

Very cute decor! I ordered a strawberry matcha latte. Before mixing the drink I tried the strawberry syrup that was at the bottom... very tasty! However once mixed, the drink wasn't as sweet (which I prefer) but the matcha taste wasn't that strong. There are lots of different drinks to choose from so I definitely want to come back! read more

Matcha magic is so good! I got the strawberry purée drink and my partner got one of the summer specials called matcha colada I think. My strawberry purée drink was delicious! The strawberry purée had a really super strong strawberry flavor and balanced the matcha perfectly. My partner loved the colada! To me it was a bit too coconut-y but I also am not the biggest fan of coconut so am not a good judge! It tasted really similar to a pina colada, and the pineapple purée was excellent. read more

Can't go wrong with a good matcha latte. And I mean GOOD. This place is consistently yummy and has the widest variety of matcha drinks! They also offer some toasts and smoothie bowls. Went twice during my stay in Seattle - got the Strawberry Matcha the first time and the Magic Matcha latte the second. They are very different from each other but both so good in their own ways. Strawberry Matcha was not overly sweet (a problem i've noticed at some other spots that offer this drink) and the strawberry flavor wasn't overwhelming and didn't mask the flavor of the matcha. I would definitely get this one again! Magic Matcha was definitely a lot more earthy and heavy, mainly bc of the different ingredients added. It has reishi, ashwagandha, and collagen. I was told it has somewhat of a earthy, mushroom-y flavor and they were spot on. It wasn't that sweet, but just enough for it to not be bland or taste like grass. It was an interesting experience - idk if I'd get it again but it was worth trying it (mainly bc of my taste preferences; I have heard many ppl like this one) I like that they use oat milk and that they don't charge for milk alternatives. Parking is usually a bit tough to find since it's on a busy part of Main St in DTBellevue but they do have a tiny lot with a few spots that they share with other establishments - paid parking though so be careful! Otherwise, you'll have to find street parking on nearby streets. There are a few tables for you to do work at (free wifi) or sit with friends to chat. Definitely will be back :) read more

So I stumbled upon this place during their soft open; so happy I did. They put some thought in the decor -- the place looks awesome. The line was long but it went fast and it was well worth any wait. I tried several drinks: Strawberry Matcha Latte, Matcha Horchata and the Julep. They were all great. I need to go back to make my way down the menu to find a favorite (too bad). Wow.. what a beautiful cafe! I was blown away with the aesthetics of it all and you can tell they worked hard on making sure the place gave off good vibes. I ordered an iced strawberry matcha latte.. and it was soo good and refreshing. It wasn't too sweet which I liked and the matcha tasted authentic and good quality. The drink was more expensive than the average matcha drink elsewhere but it's worth it! You can tell it's real muddled strawberries vs syrup. The lady who took my order was so sweet and friendly. Instagram drew me to this place and the asthetic vibes don't disappoint! The drinks were also very tasty and I enjoyed the iced ube matcha latte as well as the hot toasted marshmallow latte. I gravitate towards ube so if you are like me you should order the matcha ube latte! You won't regret it! It has a layered look (see photo) that reminds me of a Mai tai (also yummy). I'm so happy a matcha spot opened up in the seattle area! I got the ube matcha latte while my brother got the roasted matchamello latte and they were perfectly made. It wasn't too sweet like other locations and the matcha wasn't too bitter. You can definitely tell the quality here is top tier. This place is super adorable! They have the infamous Strawberry Glaze smoothie! 10/10 delicious for only $13! I took my little one there and he loved sitting in the comfy chair with the star string lights. The girl taking our order was kind enough to split our smoothie into two cups to share. Super cute matcha shop in old Bellevue! The employees were friendly and suggested their top drinks since it was our first time in. I got the pineapple matcha latte and it wasn't overly sweet and creamy because they use plant based mills only - oat is the standard which is what I got - so made it creamy. My friend got the Ube matcha latte and the Ube flavor was very forward and strong - which drowned out the matcha flavor a little bit. I will come back to try the açaí bowls and some of their other drinks. read more

I love the chocolate spheres placed on top that are like rice crisps giving a bit of texture. Unfortunately they also clog up the opening in the lid! At quieter times though, the layout works well--there's enough space for a couple people to wait without crowding the entrance. I ordered a cortado and an almond croissant. The croissant came warmed, and the texture was spot on: fluffy, layered, and not overly greasy. The almond filling had a really nice balance--nutty with just enough sweetness and a hint of salt to round it out. I was told the pastries are made in-house, and it definitely shows. It tasted like something made with care. The cortado itself was solid--pretty classic, nothing overly fancy. When it comes to drinks, Mercury's has some of my favorite organic coffee beverages. The Caramel Macchiato is my go-to and one of the best drinks on the menu. The café has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, making it a great place to meet up with friends, study, or get some work done. It's easily twice the size of the Redmond or Kirkland locations, so it feels much more spacious and comfortable. I came here to try the hailey bieber dupe and was a bit disappointed. In addition to the strawberry glaze, I was also really interested in trying their matcha so we also got the Toasted MatchaMallow Latte. I thought the two components -- matcha and marshmellow would be a bit more intertwined given the name but they were just totally separate. It was just a toasted marshmellow on a stick stuck in the straw hole of the lid. The matcha was just normal matcha but really pasty. The smoothie was priced at $13 for 16 ounces which is kind of similar to the $20 for 20 ounces for the erewhon one in terms of price point but it wasn't as good. Aesthetic wise I also feel a bit lied to by the yelp pictures because there wasn't actually labels on the cup, only sleeves and the smoothie drink I got looked nothing like the pictures. The total for the two drinks was $22 so it was really pricey in my opinion. The chairs inside were also really uncomfortable. I don't think I will be back but anything is worth the try. read more

Lowkey mad I couldn't try everything on the menu, might actually grab a matcha too before I leave, writing this mid-eating it because I needed to share. My review of Matcha Magic regards their I ability to fulfill orders before their closing time. They stop serving smoothies or açaí bowls 30 min prior to closing. It's a quick service restaurant, why not just lock their doors and not take customers anymore if they want to close earlier? I don't understand this. Our biggest complaint is how long the drinks took to be made. There were two small parties of two, ahead of us, waiting for their orders. Even then, our drinks took close to 45 minutes before we finally ended up getting them. We debated on just cancelling our orders and leaving but glad we didn't. The coffee was actually really good and the pandan flavor complimented it without overtaking the roasty coffee taste. Honestly just wish it didn't take so long to make because we wanted to pop in and out as we normally don't come onto this side of town.

This is the largest Mercury's Coffee location in Washington. I've been to the Kirkland location, which is drive-thru only, but this café offers a completely different experience. A fun fact is that Mercury's headquarters is located right next door to this location. One of my favorite things is that many of their pastries are made fresh in-house, and you can actually watch the staff preparing them. Their croissants are always a great choice, and I also highly recommend their breakfast sandwiches. They even serve pizza if you're looking for something more filling. When it comes to drinks, Mercury's has some of my favorite organic coffee beverages. The Caramel Macchiato is my go-to and one of the best drinks on the menu. The café has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, making it a great place to meet up with friends, study, or get some work done. It's easily twice the size of the Redmond or Kirkland locations, so it feels much more spacious and comfortable. The staff are always friendly, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the overall experience is consistently excellent. If you're in Bellevue and looking for a great local coffee shop with delicious food, fresh pastries, and plenty of space to relax, I would definitely recommend stopping by this Mercury's location.

Man, I don't know how to describe it but it's again very pleasant. Lastly, it seems like a nice place to study and do work. It's peaceful, with the workers chatting and music playing, it's cozy! I like it! I haven't had the need to do work at a cafe but I think this place would be a good option if you want a new study spot and happen to be in the area. Parking is a little iffy? As you can see in the pic I parked on the side of the road but sometimes the streets will be taken up which leaves you to park in the parking garage right next to the cafe, which unfortunately charges for parking past 15 minutes. This place used to be the old Tully's Coffee 20+ years ago and more recently Cypress Coffee, which it's closed its doors a couple of years ago. It's a great central location on the eastside, just off of I-90. The interior is modern, well-lit, and spacious. They have board games and plenty of tables for sitting, studying, and working. I would say 90% of people there at around 11am on a weekday had their laptops open and earphones in. The table I sat at could've been wiped off a bit better, but other than that, the bathrooms and interior were clean. Last Frontier features a seasonal menu which this summer includes a Mango Matcha, Blueberry Latte, and Butterfly Iced Tea. Outside of their seasonal menu, their menu is pretty standard, but they use a special coffee brand from Japan which I hope to try maybe in the future. They additionally serve a limited variety of pastries from Macrina Bakery. I ordered a regular ICED MATCHA ($6.75) with oat milk (+0.75). With tax and tip, my order came out to nearly $10, which is pretty steep even these days for a drink. I will say that the matcha had a nice gradient and color to it and that based on the color, they use high quality ceremonial matcha and not the cheap yellowish green matcha that many cafes use. However, it was somewhat watered down and did not have any microfoam at the top, indicating that the ratio of water to matcha was too high. Given that Last Frontier is more of a coffee shop than a matcha shop, this is to be expected. So I will say that while itt's not the best matcha out there, it's also not the worst I've had either; it's passable. Also, the drink came unsweetened by default I guess (which I personally prefer), but just putting it out there for those who are used to having sweetened matcha :) One qualm I have is that they don't have prices on their menu which I think should be transparent to customers. I also don't like how the keypad for tipping is so close to the register and facing flat up that the baristas see exactly how much you are tipping. Furthermore, I'm not a fan of shops who charge more for alternative milk. In my opinion, just because you are lactose intolerant, you shouldn't be charged more, but it seems remain a common cafe practice despite Starbucks removing the extra cost for plant milk from their menu. Overall: 3/5 for drinks, 3/5 for atmosphere, 3/5 for service

Parking ended up being a bit of a walk, which had me second-guessing the decision at first--but I'm glad I stuck with it. The moment I walked in, the space felt thoughtfully designed. The flow of the café is one of the best I've experienced--open, comfortable, and easy to navigate. As soon as the door opened, the barista greeted me right away. The counter is positioned close enough that you don't feel awkward hovering like in some cafés where the bar feels miles away. It immediately felt welcoming. I visited on a weekend during a slower period, but since the café sits right next to a college, I can imagine the line spilling out the door during peak hours. At quieter times though, the layout works well--there's enough space for a couple people to wait without crowding the entrance. I ordered a cortado and an almond croissant. The croissant came warmed, and the texture was spot on: fluffy, layered, and not overly greasy. The almond filling had a really nice balance--nutty with just enough sweetness and a hint of salt to round it out. I was told the pastries are made in-house, and it definitely shows. It tasted like something made with care. The cortado itself was solid--pretty classic, nothing overly fancy. One thoughtful touch I appreciated was that it came with sparkling water, which was great for cleansing the palate. The space itself is fairly spacious and works well if you want a quiet moment to sip your coffee. That said, most of the seating is high stools, so it doesn't really feel like the type of place to settle in and study for hours. Overall, I really enjoyed the atmosphere, service, and quality of the food. The one thing that caught me off guard was the price of the croissant at $6.50. It tasted great and I understand prices in this area tend to run higher, especially for house-made pastries--but it's a bit outside what I'd usually spend.
