    Bbq Side of Beef Rib
    Jennifer B.

I have ordered from here a few times, and each time, the food had plenty of flavor and was not too salty. One time I ordered beef ribs (a little skimpy on the meat), but the flavor was meaty and charred. This most recent time that I ordered food, I ordered a beef and chicken plate and once again, plenty of flavor for both the beef and the chicken. I am not sure which kind of dressing is used for the side salad, but it is delicious! Service was prompt and there is ample seating.

Needed lunch in the Vegas area and one of the highlights of this spot is the easy and free parking. Our group also wanted rice and meat dishes so Hawaiian BBQ seemed to be the best route. Casual food joint. The inside could use better cleaning especially on the tables and there's also a smell of sewerage in the air (from the bathroom pipes?) inside while you dine. They were out of kalbi to my disappointment so we couldn't get the Big Kahuna entree. They wouldn't let us order it still and just replace the kalbi short rib meat with a different meat they offer for some reason. Made no sense since they could have easily substituted it. Regardless, we ended up getting the beef ribs plate (#1) and the steak box (2 scoops of rice) to share. The beef ribs looked good but the flavor and taste ended up really being just okay. The ribs were paired with their cold "macaroni" salad with potato chunks, I didn't like it either and wished I got their green salad option instead. At least the portion of meat was generous. The steak box had steak that was cut into thin pieces and tasted like overcooked chewy chuck meat. Teriyaki sauce given on the side (you definitely need it to add some flavoring). Spam musubi was also just okay to me. I personally wouldn't recommend this, but at least got a quick group lunch in.

Came for their famous ribs and was told they are out of the ribs and would be out for about a week, very disappointed.

This is what I got... tough, cold, and not too flavorful beef ribs....

What happened? I used to rave about this place because of their beef rib barbecue... after a few months, their ribs have changed !!!! I returned a week ago and ordered them to satisfy my craving... I was disappointed. The ribs have lost their flavor, tough, burnt and unfortunately, cold. Seems like they didn't marinate and boil it long enough to infuse flavor and tenderize the meat. Took it out of the fridge, put it on the grill to warm it up, and burned parts of it.... Disappointing compared to when they first opened up.... I'm not the only one who noticed. A friend of mine said the same thing and said he will avoid bringing friends to the place. I share his sentiment. Sorry to say. If any of the owners read this, please do something about it... bring it back to what it was Maybe I'll try in the future and hope things change for the better...

Recently visited after a few years, and boy! Their Dino ribs are still amazing! Something about their food is so delicious. Whenever in town, definitely visit. You will not be disappointed!

There's multiple locations, We wanted to eat off the strip closer to Henderson. You know a bit further away from Vegas. Plenty of parking, not crowded and easy to leave. I ordered the big kahuna to split between three people. It did not disappoint some macaroni salad, variety of meats sitting on top of a bed of rice. Next time I'm in Henderson I'll visit again. Only down side was they forgot my side salad, but they were nice enough to pack it togo for me

To start, the lady at the register was so unfriendly and had a nasty attitude. I've heard good things about this restaurant so I was so eager to try it, but I was highly disappointed in the quality of the food. I love Hawaiian bbq, and the short ribs are normally my favorite. However, my meat from here was SOOO tough and chewy. The meat was also very thick as well, and the Mac salad had no flavor. I couldn't even finish the food.

Matiki Island is one of my weekly go-tos! I order the #2 SHORT RIB (kalbi) with extra meat and all Green Salad and forgo the side of rice. The flavor is outstanding! Their staff is always very friendly and I love the vibe with the music they play. The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is sometimes the meat is a bit fatty, but I eat around it and move on to the next. I travel for work and am sometimes not home long enough to buy many groceries, so Matiki Island is a constant good option to replace eating at home. Looking forward to going back when I get home!

Great char and flavor on both these items. The rib had great fatty charred pieces on it and a sweet flavor. The quality of the kalbi was great. The marinade was nice and caramelized and came with a lot of meat. The mac salad was delicious. I also like the tossed salad, you can't tell that there's a dressing on it but it was well coated and good. Great portions for the price.

I was shown a TikTok of the MacSpam Masubi and absolutely had to try this place. The staff was very friendly except for one Caucasian woman. Not once did she smile or say anything nice, but one bad apple shouldn't ruin the whole bunch. I will say though that one young woman stood out. She always had a smile and was so friendly, but it seemed like she was training. She went out of her way for us, so kudos to her! The Spam Mac would've been better if I liked the Mac salad, but unfortunately it was disappointing. Not much flavor, but I hope they fix that issue. Everything else was good. The short ribs were SPECTACULAR! So tender and flavorful. The date of the meal though ( and the reason for the 4 stars) is the PANI POPO!!!! Sorry for not having pictures of that. We got really excited and ate it too soon lol The Kahlua Pig was not on the main menu but that was pretty good. Maybe it was a special for the day. Please, whoever reads this review, the pani popo alone is worth checking this place out!!!!

Their idea is a full beef rib.

I've eaten the huge, meaty beef ribs from Matiki a few times - mostly back in CA. I was excited to order today for delivery. I was so in the mood for beef ribs which are so hard to find these days. I ordered the Sam's Plate so I could have leftovers tomorrow. I opened my box and was disappointed to see a bunch of beef bones, all which were half-bare. As I pulled out each bone, I saw and tasted the same thing on each. Bark fat and more fat and NO beef. One bone that was broken in half had two bites of actual beef on it. I was so disappointed, having paid for a pile of fat, rice and mac salad. We didn't get our green salads delivered at all. Hubby ordered a steak plate and it was like chewing leather. This place is now off the list. Will never order from them again. Giving it 1 star just for the sticky rice with the sauce.

Naturally, we decided there was no way we were leaving Las Vegas without trying it. First things first.... these hours are... interesting. They're only open from 11am-5pm, Wednesday through Sunday, so plan your life accordingly, lol!! We came right when they opened on a Saturday because I heard the lines get serious later in the day. Pro tip: worth it!!! The place itself is super clean and welcoming, which immediately set the tone. What we ordered (aka the greatest hits): * Sapasui (noodles w vegetables & meat) - perfectly seasoned, comforting, and impossible to stop eating. * Povi Masima (coned beef brisket) - brined just right and not overly salty like some other spots (huge win). * Paifala (pineapple half moon pie) - piping hot, fresh out of the oven. We actually had to wait five whole minutes for it... and I'd gladly wait ten more. Light, buttery, flaky perfection. * Talo & Fa'i (taro & plantain, the starch to pair w entree) - perfectly simmered with great texture, and that coconut sauce? Chef's kiss!!!! * Palusami (taro leaves simmered in coconut milk) - theirs has povi in it!! I've never had palusami with meat before and now I'm wondering why everyone isn't doing this. Soooo good!!!!! Long story short: everything was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. I still have regret that I couldn't try the oxtail soup or the sweet and sour spare ribs, but I'll be back. I got the combo plate with lau lau and Rry's fried chicken. The Lau Lau was very good: the meat was tender and I liked the taste of the Ti leaves. It was less seasoned than other Lau Lau I've had, but it's easy to add shoyu or salt to preference. The fried chicken was very good. The batter was shatteringly crispy and the meat was very juicy. To note though: it's not a Hawaiian fried chicken where it's marinated in soy/ginger first (like mochiko chicken), but more like a very good version of mainland fried chicken. The adobo flavor throughout the fried rice was so good and paired perfectly with the eggs. For my meal, I had the oxtail soup, and it was exactly what I was hoping for. Big, meaty pieces and a rich, comforting broth. It actually reminded me of a bowl I had during our trip to Kauai just a few months ago, which is about as high a compliment as I can give. Tim ordered the loco moco. He's a sucker for loco moco and really enjoyed it, although he said it didn't quite compare to the ones we've had on the islands. That's probably a tough standard for any restaurant to meet. What really stood out was the service. Seating goes quick at night, especially on weekends, but arriving earlier (before 8pm) can help. Sometimes tables, seats and areas open up faster if you're patient. All the staff, including the bartenders and door guy are thoughtful and personable. We eventually got part of the area that's slightly enclosed with a great view of the entire bar especially being a group of 6 to 8 at once point. High recommend.

I have been to Frankie's may times over the years and every time I go, it continues to impress. Their prices are reasonable, their drinks are stout and delicious and the bartenders are always great. We came in tonight for one drink and that is what we had, one drink each. The Jet Pilot is delicious as is the scorpion. The interior decor is amazing, very tiki and dimly lit. I prefer this place to Golden Tiki, as there are no time limits enforced on how long you can stay. Simply put, Frankie's is an outstanding tiki bar with outstanding drinks. If you're into the tiki vibe or all things tiki, this should be on your list of places to frequent.

Inside is casual and spacious with ample seating and relaxing Hawaiian music. Menu offers a nice selection of Hawaiian and Filipino food. They have kalbi beef short ribs, hamburger steak, loco moco, meat jun, as well as chicken and pork adobo, pinakbet, pancit, and robust garlic chicken. I ordered Pork Menudo ($13.40) and request over medium fried egg (+2.59). It was ready in 15 minutes, delivered nice and hot. Meat is very tender, has mixed veggies, served with steamed rice, the menudo sauce is amazingly delicious and flavorful! Service from owner Jeanette is very kind, welcoming, patient, helpful, and friendly!

This place is fairly out of the way from the strip, so the food is more reasonably priced, but an Uber here will be $20 which will defeat the purpose of a reasonably priced meal (though people can do delivery, but it can be chaotic in a large hotel). This place serves Hawaiian-Filipino fusion, with their signature robust garlic chicken. We got the Coach Bojay which is half robust garlic chicken half galbi, which comes with 2 scoops of rice and mac salad. The garlic chicken is quite delicious, a bit less garlicky than I expected, with a really good sauce. The galbi is also good, but not the most tender. It was a little burnt but otherwise they gave a generous amount. I took off a star for the rice as it is quite mushy. We also tried a hot dog musubi which is really good - there is a bit too much rice so we allocated some to mix it with the delicious sauce from the robust garlic chicken to fill ourselves up further. Both items were enough to feed 2 people, so the value is there. I loved that this is a fast casual takeout-primary spot so you can be in and out quickly.
