I opted to do the drive through as I didn't see any available street parking right in front of the ice cream shop. Luckily the drive through line was very short when I came by Tuesday evening around 6 pm. The first confusing thing for me was how to get into the drive through line, as I was coming from the wrong direction. There were no signs for this. Eventually I pulled up and asked one of the workers, and she said the drive through line entrance is on Neal St, coming from the First St direction. The second confusing thing was that there wasn't much of a menu for the drive through. There's just one small sign with a list of their everyday flavors and another one with some new flavors listed, but that was it. It was a spontaneous decision to come here, but had I known, I would've done more research on available flavors. No prices were listed either. After coming, I looked on their IG page and saw a bunch more flavors featured that would've been fun to try. Oh well. I ended up going the most basic route with a small vanilla soft serve. It was ready for me when I pulled up to the inside. The vanilla soft serve was delicious! I'm used to "lighter" soft serves from the fast food chains, but the ice cream here is creamier and more dense, which I absolutely loved. It felt like it had more substance to it. Plus you can't beat the price! It was only $3.50 for a small, which was already very large.

Somisomi in Pleasanton!…read more I LOVE Somisomi and this was the closest one to us (being 20 minutes away) so we had to stop by for a sweet treat. You know it's serious when you are willing to take a 20 min drive over just for ice cream but it was well worth it. There was a ton of parking spaces at the parking lot in the plaza that this biz was located in. The space was bright and clean, and the staff was super helpful. We love how they rotate their flavors. We got the soft serve in the cup and with the taiyaki. They are all about the banana flavor right now so we got the soft serve mix with that and the cookies and cream. It was really good! Can't wait to come to somisomi again the next time we're in town.

Malathi was helping me and gave me a lot of different options and worked with me on the design and style. I gave her some inspiration photos and some colors from the party. She took a picture of all of it for her records. They don't open until 11am on Sundays, but she said she would come in early in the morning that day so I could pick up the cake before the party at 9am.
