I ordered the matcha latte. It has dairy milk in it. It was so rich. It tasted like it had chocolate notes in it. It reminded me of the matcha gelato I had in Kyoto in June. I would order here again and recommend this matcha spot to other people. I wish I could order just gelato here but it looks like they only have drinks here. This is in the Pacific Pearl Shopping Center to the left of Somisomi. Parking is plentiful, as this is a shared lot. Interior is bright, simple, and clean. There are two kiosks to place your order but I am sure an employee can assist you. Since this restaurant is new, the kiosk I was using was very glitchy and would not accept my credit card payment until I tried a few times. First time I tried Matsu Matcha was in the Santa Clara location, was nice to see that there's one in Pleasanton closer to where I live! I got the banana einspanner and my friend got the guava matcha. went on a saturday at opening and it was quiet. order at the kiosk and service was quick though they call your number pretty quietly so you have to watch out for your drink. they also had a 1.75 charge for tax and other fees even tho my drink was 7.50 so it actually ends up being quite a bit more expensive than you think. some seating along the wall. plenty of parking in the plaza -gelato matcha, half sweet: chose jasmine matcha ice cream which was v fragrant! kinda hard to eat tho and got kinda icy but maybe that's just how ice cream is in liquid. latte was earthy, good matcha. also got sweeter as the ice cream melted so maybe 25% sweet would've been better for me overall would be open to come back to try their other items as the matcha is good and their menu has a lot of interesting drinks. ends up being pricey because of the additional fee tho read more

We were so sad when we heard that our favorite yogurt spot was no more. But when we stepped into Matsu Matcha and ordered through the kiosk, WE SAW YOGURRRRTTTT!!! Guess they changed names but are selling both products now, which is a win-win. Best of both worlds! Their strong matcha latte is true to its name and my wife enjoyed her strawberry yogurt drink (just took awhile to mix). Definitely still our go-to dessert spot whenever we're in the area. read more

Jasmine Matcha Gelato on top of a Matcha Latte! I was in the area and wanted a drink and saw Matsu Matcha on Yelp! There's 2 self-serve kiosk in front of the bar so ordering was really fast and easy. Unfortunately, I waited about 25 minutes for my drink so I would recommend placing an order ahead of time. Getting my drink was honestly so underwhelming. I ordered the jasmine matcha gelato matcha latte and the presentation was really nice but the cup was small and it was 90% ice. It did cost me $9 but at least it tasted good I guess. I wanted to love Matsu Matcha, but unfortunately, the overall experience fell well short of expectations. Upon entering, the store was overwhelmed by an intense chemical scent of cleaning fluid. While a clean space is important, the odor was so heavy that it was off-putting. Since I was ordering to go, I decided to stick it out, though by the time I stepped outside, the chemical smell had clung to my clothes and followed me out. I ordered a Gelato Cup with two flavors (Ultra Rich Matcha #5 and Genmaicha Matcha #1) via the self-order kiosk. To be fair, the taste was fantastic--both flavors were rich and well-crafted, which was the single saving grace of the visit. However, the portion size was noticeably skimpier than expected for a $9.95 price point. The most frustrating part came at checkout. In Pleasanton, the combined sales tax rate for restaurant meals is 10.25%, which should have brought the $9.95 item to $10.97 total ($1.02 tax). Instead, the kiosk displayed a final total of $11.57, bundling an unexplained $1.62 into a single line item labeled "Taxes and Fees." There was zero breakdown, itemization, or upfront notice explaining what these extra fees covered. While businesses face real overhead costs, levying undisclosed, hidden surcharges at a self-service kiosk feels fundamentally un-transparent. Great flavor, but between the chemical smell, stingy portions, and deceptive checkout pricing, I won't be back. read more

Been this place so many times and order rice yogurt drinks everytime. Just notice they change the store name and mainly sale matcha now. Well, walk inside and surprisedly find out that they still keep the yogurt menu. However, we got 2 drinks again today, one less sweet and other one with no sugar. The girl made the drink not evenly. One of them not even full cup. So then she asked other guy, the guy told her just pour it from other full cup to make it even. Bravo! What a great idea! I also love that they have so many unique matcha flavors that I haven't seen at other places. There are plenty of options to choose from, and it's fun trying different flavors each time I visit. Went mid day Sunday and it was super busy but didn't have to wait too too long. It was nice because we were able to use the kiosk to order since there were only two staff members making drinks. Good addition to the Tri-Valley! Not many matcha spots here. I ordered the banana pudding matcha. It was good. Definitely recommend you lower the percentage of sweetness. The taste is very sweet, kind of too sweet for my liking. Overall still good and will come back to try it again. You order through the self kiosk and wait for your order. They have a great variety of drinks--not only matcha, but also fruit yogurt drinks like Fresh Mango Yogurt and White Peach Mochi, which is nice when you're in the mood for something different. The matcha is rich and smooth without being overly bitter, and I love that you can actually taste the matcha instead of it being overwhelmed by sweetness. The matcha here is good and I really like the ambience even though one of the seats didn't have a cushion and hurt my back. Additionally, they didn't accommodate my lactose intolerance for my triple matcha. I asked if I can substitute the triple matcha with oat milk and they said no. After roaming around Stoneridge Mall, I took my daughter here to buy a few drinks. Ordering was through a kiosk so obviously, cash payment isn't allowed. We ordered a matcha latte, matcha latte with strawberry (oat milk, add boba), and matcha latte with gelato (Genmai matcha, add boba). All drinks were 80% sweet. After placing our order, the text message stated that our order would be ready in 5 minutes. Then after 6 minutes, I received another text message stating that our order was ready. Unfortunately, the drinks were not ready. We waited another 20 minutes before they called our number! Out of all of the drinks, I only tried the matcha latte with strawberry and it was delicious. Another criticism I wanted to point out was that the matcha latte with gelato was placed in a flimsy black cup with a lid. I wanted to take a pic for Yelp so I opened the lid and the latte spilled out of the cup and onto my clothes, my hands, and parts of my car. On top of that, no plastic spoons were available so my daughter waited for the gelato to melt so she could at least drink the melted gelato. read more

This place used to be a different establishment. I ordered the banana pudding Matcha with Brulé and it was super good. I got 80% sweetness but next time I will probably get 50%. It was a bit too sweet for me. I liked the banana flavor on top. It has small chunks of banana. Next time I might ask for less ice as well. There was a lot of ice in my drink and I wish I would've had more matcha, for the price. It was $9.47 for this specific flavor. That's why I'll give it 4 stars instead of 5. Just the small tweaks will make the drink better. I'll be back if I'm craving an almost $10 matcha drink. read more

They finally have the gelato!! Got Matcha with Jasmine Matcha gelato on top with 80% sweetness. The jasmine flavor really came thru on the first bite of the gelato and it paired well with the matcha. The drink was on the sweeter side even with 80% sweetness so I would get 50% or 30% if you like less sweet especially since the ice cream was sweet. I do prefer sweeter matcha and the ice cream was a nice touch on top. I also got an extra scoop of Hojicha gelato and it was really good. Still on the sweeter side with a nice hojicha flavor. I would even pair the hojicha gelato with the matcha drink next time. The workers were nice and gave me their opinion when I asked what they recommended. She said the level 5 matcha gelato was really bitter and that she likes the genmaicha or jasmine matcha gelato. I will definitely come back next time to try the other matcha gelato levels! read more

The matcha is really good. I liked the purple yogurt when it was called Yoghost, but they seem to have absorbed it. Took off 2 stars because the drinks are expensive, and they pull the scumbag move of charging a "fee" on every order of almost 20%. It was the typical Dublin Summer temperature of 100+ degrees, so I got my favorite Q-Tea drink: matcha red bean slushie (50% sweetness). My son tried a new flavor, which he loved: passion fruit slushie (80% sweetness, I think?) with boba. The owner was, and has always been, so friendly and sweet. I always remember her! We love coming here. I've also thrown "boba parties" for my children's birthdays before, so Q-Tea was my go-to place, even when new boba stores opened up who fried their bobas, offered snazzy weird popping flavored bobas, etc. Q-Tea makes classic boba drinks, is always consistently good, and has great customer care because it is run by the owner who is a kind lady. Many times after ordering and paying I'll see a sign promoting something new that I want, but it's too late. They have a website, Facebook page and a radio station that helps in these areas... but if you don't know... it's frustrating. I have learned to troll their Facebook page hahaha!
