Bad teriyaki. Best part was the rice and sake.

Edamame was terrible AGAIN and no salt. Bento box uninspired. Service subpar. Very DISSAPOINTED. This was my second try.

This neighborhood sushi restaurant has been a fixture in the UES community for a number of years. It survives quite well by serving quality food with a smile. Aside from indoor dining, there is a popular delivery business. The menu provides a large variety of sushi items as well as some sashimi and cooked kitchen dishes. A number of the rolls are named after years. One of our favorites is 2020. The rolls are not only tasty with multiple ingredients, they are very pleasing to the eye, almost works of art! Prices are reasonable. For example, beers are five dollars.

Yum! Ordered the sashimi chef special and miso eggplant via postmates. Was really impressed with the sashimi - the fish was fresh and the portions were great. I even had leftovers for the next day. Definitely a great value. The miso eggplant had nice flavors - it wasn't outstanding and only came with two small-ish pieces but not bad. Will likely order again for the sashimi and maybe try a different app!

Very solid sushi for its price! Nothing crazy fancy but I love how they have a big menu with lots of sushi, rolls, and sashimi options! Their sashimi fish were pretty fresh. Forgot the name of the specialty sushi roll I had but it was tasty! I only wish their tempura shrimp was a little more fluffy/crispy but otherwise had a great time! Its a small restaurant but as a result gives off intimate vibes without breaking your wallet. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food came out pretty quick! If you're feeling sushi/Japanese food and on a budget, this place can definitely satisfy cravings!

I come here all the time because I work nearby and I cannot stand the worker who answer the phone. All I asked is for extra teriyaki sauce, and she's lecturing me about how they charge for it. Just charge it then why do you have to lecture me for 5 minutes.

Great lunch spot, awesome lunch deal. I appreciate that they go light on the rice. Rolls are like small maki rolls, and it's definitely a popular lunch spot, even on weekdays. Would definitely recommend coming for a quick bite. Staff is quick and efficient.

    Chirashi Lunch Special

This was always my go-to sushi place for lunch when I was in the area. They have great cuts of fish and the service is pretty fast, which is ideal as a hospital employee when you don't have a lot of time for lunch. I was seated immediately when I arrived. They have a decent deal for their lunch special, which comes with miso soup or salad. I got the chirashi lunch since I'm a big fan of their cuts of fish. It was a good size meal for a lunch special. My friend got the chicken teriyaki, which he also liked.

Good, fresh sushi in a cute place with fun vibes. We kept it simple with our order - salmon sushi and a few rolls. So good!! Give it a try.

The atmosphere here was a bit more lively and crowded compared to the more relaxed vibe of the UWS spot. I enjoyed my meal even more this time around. I started with the beet salad, which was delicious and offered great value given the generous portion size. it featured sliced beets, arugula, goat cheese, and walnuts. I also had my eye on the hijiki soybean salad--which is a bit smaller and reportedly homemade--so I may try that next time, along with the warm mushroom salad which looked very tasty. The edamame was standard but served as a nice starter. For my main rolls, I chose the salmon avocado and the yellowtail scallion. Both were very fresh and definitely worth ordering again. The salmon avocado roll had a nice touch of sesame seeds on the rice, while the yellowtail scallion was prepared with the seaweed on the outside. My boyfriend's sushi entree looked excellent, so I am considering that or the sushi-sashimi combo for my next visit. The entrees provide a substantial amount of food, and I especially appreciate that they allow you to choose which roll comes with your meal.

They share a takeout menu and it's super easy to order--text what you want to the phone number on the website and pickup in ~20 minutes :). I enjoyed most of the pieces but I will say I don't like their amaebi or uni at all. I'm not sure what kind of uni is used here but it's the type with a very strong mineral flavor & aftertaste that I don't find enjoyable. We're spoiled by easy access to live spot prawns everywhere and fresh SB uni. Despite this, I wouldn't hesitate to come back if I lived in the city.

The rice was nicely seasoned and was cooked well + portions are also big to match those thiccccc salmon slices. To be honest, I was getting a little nauseated after 5 pieces, haha~ They were definitely delicious but I'd probably just eat 3 or 4 pieces and share with a friend! It was easy to text the number on the website and coordinate a pickup time, and the staff was friendly when I arrived. The restaurant is a little hard to find as the windows are blinded and the sign is a piece of paper on the door.

The ube tiramisu was free since we wrote a google review for the restaurant. Everything was delicious and the zucchini was surprisingly good as well. I've taken a lot of friends here over the course of 10 years, and without fail, every one of them has walked out mindblown--and why wouldn't they?! The wait times have gotten better over the years (probably because people are waiting for the restaurant next door), but the food and drinks here are still top-notch. Staff is always great, and they all work so efficiently. I am generally a fan of izakayas, but there are very few that offer plates that are designed to be shareable, and this is one of the reasons the food here is so enjoyable in a small group setting.
