This one man show is great! We order coffee and biscuits, made our way. I had a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit and my husband two had sausage, butter, and strawberry jam biscuits. The biscuits have a wonderful crisp bottom, but are still soft and flaky throughout. The location is in a niche spot, it is a very small location, but obviously well liked by locals and travelers alike. If you are driving, be sure to have some coin change for street parking. We only had 18 minutes worth of change so we had to take our order to go, but totally worth it. The owner/chef (Matt) is very friendly to everyone. My friend and I made a special morning trip Downtown so we could grab breakfast from Matt Robb Biscuits and it was worth it! We were able to find a parking meter one block away, so parking was not an issue. We met the owner and he was very friendly. And he was busy fulfilling all the orders. It's a small biscuit shop with a few seats but we decided to eat in the nearby courtyard. This sweet and savory breakfast sandwich was absolutely delicious. The food was cooked fresh and prepared in front of us while we waited. Then toasted! Extra delicious with the melted cheese! The coffee was great, too. Because the biscuits are prepared to order you may find that there will be a line. But, it's worth the wait. (We waited about five minutes.) The competition for great biscuits in the south seems fierce, but Matt Robbs doesn't shy away from the challenge. This tiny shop slings some five-star biscuits and is as unique as it gets. It's very small, like I didn't go in initially because I thought it was the staff hanging out around the kitchen and surely there was a main entrance I was missing. Nope! It is indeed intended to be small and made to order. It's a true one-man shop. I wanted to take advantage of the fact that the owner who clearly knows their stuff was also taking orders, so I told him to surprise me and make anything that he thinks sounds good. He ended up crafting a breakfast biscuit sandwich with cheddar/garlic biscuit, egg, cheddar, sausage and a chipotle cream cheese. The verdict? Very messy but also very good! The biscuit lives up to the hype. It's crispy on the bottom but flaky as hell throughout. The only minor issue I had was that it really was insanely messy -- at least to this midwesterner not used to eating massive biscuit sandwiches. It was wrapped in foil the cream cheese ended up everywhere, including me. I would've loved a to-go container or some kind of plate vs just the foil wrapped biscuit. Definitely worth seeking out, top-notch biscuits, and I enjoyed the attached courtyard which was perfect on a nice spring morning to enjoy this. read more

This place is awesome. I cannot believe I just recently discovered it and it's been around for almost 2 years. The owner Matt is extremely nice, and someone that will remember your name. The place is tiny and tucked behind the Bijou Theatre, its easy to miss as there is a tiny sign that says biscuits here, hidden like a speakeasy. There is not a lot of seating so you can always take your biscuit to go and walk around downtown Knoxville. The biscuits are a little crumbly but believe me when I say they don't disappoint. I ordered a biscuit with egg, bacon & cheese. The bacon had the perfect crispiness and was the perfect accompaniment to go with the egg and cheese on the biscuit. The biscuit was buttery deliciousness and I'm not lying when I say it's hands down one of the best biscuits in this town. The menu is small but it's done right. I'll definitely be back to check out the biscuits and gravy. They also have a large assortment of coffee and Matt definitely knows what he's doing when it comes to coffee and biscuits. Matt built it then put it in the oven to make it all warm and comforting. While I waited, Matt was super personable as was another regular customer that came in after me. If I find myself relocating to Knoxville, I plan to be a regular. I'm kind of directionally challenged and it took me a minute to find it.
