I had them evaluate a house I was seriously considering buying, and they found significant issues that both the general inspector and another plumber had completely missed. Their expertise very likely saved me from purchasing a home that would have turned into a huge money pit. What I appreciated most was how detailed and patient they were. Matt took the time to walk me through everything they found and explain what it meant in plain terms. He even spent about 30 minutes on the phone with me before, explaining exactly how the plumbing work should be done when the seller planned to use her own plumber for repairs. I don't usually write reviews but after the exceptional work that was done by Matthews Plumbing I feel the need to. My mother's house basically had to be re-plumbed due to 40 year old corroded pipes. This was going to require digging tunnels beneath her house to replace the old pipes w 4" PVC. It was going to be a very costly, involved job and I didn't want just anyone to do it. I talked to several plumbing companies and chose Matthews Plumbing because of his 32 years as a Master Plumber. He told me outside of hiring a crew to dig the tunnels he would be doing all the work himself. He was there everyday until he completed the job. Every day I got a phone call updating me with the progress including pictures. I was so impressed with the outcome of the job I asked him to replace her water heater, dishwasher and re-plumb her disposal. If I could give this company ten stars I would. read more

Similar to other reviews, Matthews was the only one that could make it out the same day. It was a Saturday late afternoon and I had the water to the house turned off trying to replace a leaking hose from the wall to the toilet. I was not able to get it off, called multiple plumbers listed in a green book I get every year, "Five Star Services." All said they could get someone there by Tuesday, one did say 8 pm later Saturday. I googled Plumbers in Grand Prairie, found Matthews, called and actually got the head person, not a receptionist who said a dispatcher would call back. He said he could be there in 45 minutes, it was actually 10 to 15 and had the problem fixed in 15 minutes. Matt was very responsive and caring to help us get a new faucet installed and fix a leak under the sink. We had tried a name brand plumbing company and realizing we were just a number to them, so we got Matt's name from our neighbor. With Matt you can tell that he cared about helping us, doing quality work, and making sure we were happy with the service. He was knowledgeable and even though it wasn't a major repair, he treated it like it was the most important thing. I had no doubt that when he left it would be totally fixed. Matt was so wonderful in helping me with my mystery issue. He responded really quickly to my call, and got me scheduled the same day. It turned out my issue likely isn't water heater-related (as I thought it may have been), and he talked through all of the likely causes and how we could address them. He's incredibly knowledgeable about what seems like every home-related appliance and plumbing issue you could encounter. He offered up options for different ways to diagnose an issue, and was very up front about the cost of each, but absolutely didn't pressure me to do anything that wasn't necessary. We've had a great experience with these guys. My family's home recently had a plumbing issue that resulted in water backing up into both toilets, bathtub and our shower. After attempting to fix it ourselves to no avail, we looked them up on Yelp and the experience was excellent. They arrived in a timely manner and they were able to root out the issue within a few minutes. They were professional in their work and they gave us some great advice for how to handle a similar situation if it happens again. Intelligent and honest people are the most important qualities of those I hire. I called Matthews Plumbing, when a dangerous blanket of ice covered roadways. The owner said, he had to be honest. Matthew and his helper showed up on time and fixed my leaking toilet. He explained what needed to be done before he started. When he had to go get a part because the person that installed the toilet went the cheap route and the handle was at an odd angle, he told us how long he would be gone and was back sooner than he said. He got the City involved and after much hard work and a fair amount of kind words, he got my house to stop flooding.
