There was a short line when I got there and it took about 15 minutes from when I entered the store to when I left with my drink. I appreciate that they use compostable straws and cups #savetheturtles. The staff wasn't particularly friendly, but I didn't mind because I was just trying to go in and out of there. We ordered a few drinks and things to eat here and one of our drinks was ordered as extra hot but it wasn't even warm when we grabbed it as she put it down. The restaurant wasn't very busy this time but our order ended up taking 45 minutes for some bagel orders. When I went in to check on how much longer, majority of the workers were playing with a baby. Shortly after, we got our order, one order was overly burnt and one order was wrong all together. When I went in to ask, the worker said "what's wrong" as if it was an inconvenience that they made my order wrong. She was also inconvenienced by having to go to the back to get some Mayo for my husband. They did remake my correct order, but that also took another 25 minutes even though it was "rushed out to fix the mistake". My order was definitely rushed and burned in the process. My husband and I stopped in here after the airport since it was literally down the street. It is located in a plaza with plenty of parking. There are a few patio tables and chairs outside but no umbrellas. There is also seating inside as well. We ordered the house cold brew which was advertised as the best one and it was just alright. Service was pretty slow considering there were three people working and we were one of two parties in the shop. I was wrapping up work before I headed out to the Road to Hana. Here was my experience on a Monday Morning. AMBIANCE: Parking: Plaza parking. Let me prequalify two things, today is my last day of a week in Maui, and I come from the restaurant hospitality industry so I'm a bit more demanding than others in my reviews. After six days in Maui, and every day seeking out a decent latte or cappuccino, I have thrown the towel in. Every top rated coffee place I went to is run by ditzy teens and college kids. Given that things are already expensive in Maui it has been a frustrating journey to get a decent espresso beverage. Our last stop was Maui coffee roasters because they were near the airport and they had stellar reviews. I ordered two double lattes and noted that they had nice big ceramic mugs resting on the espresso machine so when paying I asked the girl to make my lattes in the ceramic mugs and she acknowledged that. When the drinks were delivered they were, of course, served in paper cups. I took the drinks back to the girl who took my order and said you understood I asked for mugs and she acknowledged yes and took the two containers to the girl who prepared the drinks who in turn shot me a disdainful look after being told they should've been in mugs. Instead of making me a new pair of lattes, the girl, right in front of me, dumped the lattes in the paper cups into the mugs and shoved them up to me at the window. The entire drink was now just a mess and I picked one up and tasted it and of course it was barely warm. I told that girl that the drink was not hot hoping this time she would make me a fresh pair but of course instead she took the messy drinks and threw them in the microwave for a minute. Under normal circumstances I would've demanded she make me a fresh pair or my money back but I literally was out of energy fighting with these airheads. And I also want to point out they were by no means slammed or busy so the girls were not under any kind of stress or pressure. They just don't care. The vibe of Maui coffee roasters is indeed nice, they have a nice selection of coffee accessories and coffee beans in bags. The pastries were good. But the owner of this establishment needs to have a training session with these kids and explain to them that they should be making a quality drink. read more

This place is a funky little cafe, filled with locals and tourists. They were busy at noon time! Enjoyed a cold brew (they used their red rooster beans) and got a bag of the same beans. Coffee was smooth, medium blend with warm, sweetness to it. My friend had their garlic bagel with cream cheese, tomato (free add on) and cheese (costs $1 and was shredded, but still real cheddar). Tip -- go get free smells from the warehouse behind the storefront. It's where they're doing all the roasting and bagging. 2nd tip -- they told me they were using South American blend coffee for the espresso and nitro cold brew. The seating is pretty tight (close together), but we were able to snag a table for the four of us. I tried the mocha and it was perfect. It even came with a sleeve covered in fancy artwork. In addition to being a coffee shop, they also sell some great products, including their brand of bagged coffee, as well as others. Besides that, there are T-shirts, mugs, and other great logo items. The coffee mugs were especially fantastic and make for great Hawaiian souvenirs. We bought the orange diner mug with the Maui Coffee Roasters logo (a hula dancer). This was the last cafe we visited on our trip to Maui. It is conveniently located near the airport and we picked up breakfast on our way back to the California. Where should I begin the review! I am so glad we tried out this cafe. My husband and I shared a onion bagel with cream cheese and the Huevos Bagel. The bagel was perfectly toasted and was delicious. I read that this place was number one on Maui for coffee and I would say it is. The coffee is very good there and they offer a lot of options that will appeal to any caffeine seeking coffee snob or novice just wanting a great cup of Joe. One thing that I do have to rave about is their Ube (sweet potato) Cheesecake. It was incredible. I love flavored cheesecakes and I have to say that this by far was the best I ever had. There are three options; I can't recall which one I got, I think it was the basic one and definitely not the chocolate. In the few weeks since I've tried their nitro cold brew, I've tried 3 other nitro cold brews in the bay area. So far, they are 0 for 3 in terms of taste, body, and quality. The search continues. First coffee place we visited. They have several warehouse spaces behind the store front in which they roast their beans. Tried the Maui Cat coffee and loved it. Drank it without cream or sugar (it was that good!) and had half a scone with it. Absolutely delicious. So instead of our anticipated 100% Kina coffee purchase, we went with a pound of Maui coffee :). What made this visit extra special was the time spent learning more about the beans they sold there.
