If she is not a founding member of the company, the company needs to find a new director of sales and marketing. She knocked on my door and I didnt know who she was so I answered her through my ring doorbell. She looked so over it. My partner dealt with her but I listened to their conversation about the project we were looking for with another camera in my backyard. She was rude and acted like the project was beneath her. I was looking to spend $8-$10,000 on a project. She smugly said that was not enough for the project. She then proceeded to sound so arrogant as if my request was stupid. That amount is a fraction of someones annual paycheck-- its not an amount of money to turn your nose at. Luckily, she was the MOST expensive of the 5 that I received quotes from. No thanks. I will give a zero start if I can. I called to schedule an appt two weeks ago but I am only available on Weds and all their designers have office day on Weds. The scheduler told me she would see what she could do since they only schedule appointments for weekdays. Then she called me later that day and said she talked to one of the designers and he could come out on wed (today) March 6 at 8am. Fast forward to two weeks later I waited for 40 minutes at my house but no one showed up, so I called their office and that same scheduler told me NO appointment was scheduled at 8am today. How can you trust someone to landscape your property if they can't even keep their appointments!? AVOID this like a plague!! read more

I had nothing but problems with this company.They don't like to be told when they do something wrong or forgot to do something, are arrogant, they do not stand by their warranty, they planted items I did not order, they plant old/ dry plants and tell me they will be okay? I had to go to a nursery and get what I wanted and then get reimbursed. The irrigation they installed wasn't turned on and many of my plants and a tree died. The owner(s) comes off nice but then once they have your money they don't care how rude or disrespectful they are with you. When they have to correct a problem or deal with an issue, they act as if you are the problem. Stay away from this company!! Better companies are out there. read more

We used Mauri Landscaping to completely re-do our front yard. Our neighborhood is one of those that still has houses with decorative grass, and we wanted to be responsible and also get the SNWA rebate before it was gone. This is my best effort at a thoughtful review of their work. First, I will say everyone at Mauri is wonderful to work with. From Chris, the owner, to the office people to the workers on the ground, everyone was friendly, considerate, and enjoyable to work with. Chris came to our house initially to take a look at things. We had written out much of what we wanted. Some of it was impractical for our geography, and Chris offered great ideas about what looked good and what worked for our location. He spent considerable time mapping out our yard and coming up with ways to give us the yard we desired. Following Chris coming out, we went to their offices and sat down with them to see graphic renderings of their ideas. We loved them and accepted them with little change. They had really thought through a plan that would give us the yard we wanted. After we met and agreed to do the work, communication slipped a bit. Chris had given us a timeframe for starting, which came and went without communication from his office. I had to call in order to get their attention and get on the schedule. I will say everyone is great at returning phone calls, so we got that resolved. Unfortunately, we were put off twice for our start date, once the day before we were to start. When we finally had a date, it coincided with a church retreat we were attending. We were assured they could handle everything without us being there for some of it. That's kind of when we started seeing the job unravel just a bit. They started on the very hottest week in June: record temperatures. We were told that a number of the plants we wanted were not available at that time, which was never discussed before, and so, reluctantly, we accepted substitutes that we were pretty lukewarm about. While we were gone, they planted many of the plants, and, unfortunately, the crew did not set the watering timer properly. We came back from our retreat with newly planted plants that had not been watered in a week, to a number of dead plants. Additionally, a couple of the plants we were told were unavailable, but upon searching we found ourselves, and a number of the plants they planted looked suspiciously smaller than we were told. The outdoor lighting that was put in looked marvelous, but they were unable to secure a transformer that would function correctly. We were told it would be replaced, but there was a failure to communicate, and so it took a couple of phone calls and several weeks to get their attention. As anyone who has dealt with contractors knows, there are always challenges to deal with along the way. I believe some our challenges came from the job supervisor who lacked attention to detail, and might have either been spread too thin, or depended on crews more than he should for inspecting their work. We were very frustrated with these issues. The redemption here is that Chris Maury is a diligent, honest man of his word. He explained that he felt terrible about the challenges on the job,and came out personally to go over every bit of the job. He replaced the plants that had died, reconfigured the lighting, and even had his crew rebuild one of the raised beds. They absolutely honored their guarantees and worked very hard to make things right. Chris accepted full responsibility for the job, and indicated that he had made personnel changes to do everything he could to avoid this situation in the future, and I believe him. My experience is that most home projects that you hire out have their snafu's. In the end, Mauri took pride in making our yard beautiful, were willing to fix the unfortunate mistakes they made, and we are quite happy with our landscaping project. I would recommend Mauri to others. I hope that Mauri will take my review not as a criticism, but as recommendations for improving their work, and praise for their creativity, honesty and ethics, hard work, and a willingness to make us satisfied customers. read more

Please read! 9 months ago I interviewed 8 landscape design companies, from small to large businesses. In the end I came to the very apparent conclusion that Chris Mauri was a man of his word. He was fair priced, experienced, presented to me an excellent plan, and he also has THE BEST WARRANTY! We went to his home and toured all of the in ground options as well as outdoor kitchen applications. No nursery tours or "here is what it could look like" No! Actual home with mature plants that he would put in your yard. We pointed at the things we liked, came up with a plan, and then his designer expertly made us a 3D model of our home and yard in a stunning model we took home. You know how many of the 8 companies offered that; 1! This is not typical at all. It's a different touch and we were excited to get started. We asked for Benito to lead the on-site job as he was highly spoken about. We also were keen on having this massive job done in under 10 days! All new electrical, irrigation, lighting, plantings, removals, dry scapes.... All done before we thought! Look, I understand some people are quick to judge... oh they got to me a day late or maybe we had a mix up of communication etc... and on today's quick fingered judgements it can appear like something it really Isn't..., so here is the truth; Chris Mauri has more than stood by his word and work with my yard. They've come out for small and big changes over the months with zero qualms or arguments. We are beyond thrilled with his work and his character. You want to hire large company A and get the fast food treatment, please by all means hire them. You want to meet an entire family, see a stunning home of options for your yard, and most importantly be treated like your business actually means something (because it does to the Mauri family) then call Chris! She acted offended that we had used another nursery for plants. She took no measurements at the site and the meeting was a complete waste of our time. She waited a week to call back and say she couldn't complete the bid because she didn't take any measurements. Then made an excuse that they couldn't come back to measure for another week and then they wouldn't be able to even do the work for another month. I would not waste your time calling this company unless you are looking for extremely poor customer service and to waste your time. Not being too familiar with a lot of plants, we enjoyed getting to look around and point out plants that we liked for them to create a custom design for our backyard. Chris and his team were super professional, and even helped us with submitting our paperwork for HOA approval. I have to say, at first blush I thought Mauri was the answer to our problem. Don't be fooled by their presentation, it's all you will get. Mauri promises the moon and delivers a lump of coal. One promise was their own employees. We got someone with no experience running a crew so most of their time was spent on breaks on our front patio. They were day laborers. They arrived late on the job site as their foreman said they were picking out plants and couldn't find my "tree" which was just a stick 1/2" around. That was the highlight of their job. The rest was downhill. Problems are too numerous to enumerate, they never lived up to their promises and we were so unhappy with the result we had our neighbor's landscaper come in and make it look better. Beware, they charge for every little thing, even if it doesn't apply to your job. They refused to rake, clear and level off any the dirt in the yard and in the raised planter bed before they dumped the rocks, claiming it was drainage. Drainage was never an issue because the pitch would not change by raking and/or leveling out high spots. Mauri installed the cheapest emitters possible that now (16 months later) need replacing on every plant since now they are not getting enough water. I could go on and on, but the end result was a huge disappointment. We paid a $1,500 premium over all other estimates and got less than ordinary. Plus we had to pay someone to do what they should have done. After all this tie, I still wish we had gone with someone else. read more

Mauri Landscapes saved me hundreds of dollars. They not only did not show up when they had an appointment, but they wanted me to wait over three weeks for a "consultant" to show up. OK, so screw them. I am from New Jersey so if I can not get something done yesterday I will do it myself. I continue to use Mauri Landscapes for all of my work. Been a customer for 11 years! I have them come in before winter and in the spring for a yard clean up. Also use their tree service for deep treating etc. This year was time to replace a few plants and also support my wall climbing plants better. John came out and looked it over. I was sure it would cost an arm and a leg for all I wanted done but it was really very reasonable. Especially considering the yard needed work AND 13 plants. I'm torn on my review. The owner knows his stuff and is very helpful. They made our yard look beautiful. But here's the "however". After 30 days one of our trees died, it just didn't take root. They came out at looked at it and said lets give it 2 weeks and we'll come and look at it again. 2 weeks later, no call and no one showed up. So we called. A week went by and they came and looked at the tree and said lets give it a few weeks. 3 weeks later nobody looked at it. Several calls later and promises that they would be here to replace it nobody has shown. We have made several follow up calls and no response. We are now into month 3. So now we can enjoy our yard with a dead tree. They do good work unless something dies, then you can sit back and look at it for months and get aggravated every time you sit in your yard. read more

Chris came out and gave me an estimate in the summer of 2014. The first step was removal of a palm tree and (as written on the invoice) "grind stump to 4-6" below grade". Their tree guys came out the next week and removed the tree and did grind the stump, to just ABOVE the grade. They told me that it would recede over the winter, which it did not. Several calls later, Chris came out again in the winter for a revised estimate because the first one included different materials than what I wanted (bark ground cover instead of turf). When he arrived and I told him, "your tree guys didn't grind the stump down; that's going to make your job a lot harder." He never got back to me with a new estimate. Here we are in April, and several calls to their office I finally got in touch with Mauri and sent pictures that he requested. Lots of promises, no action. I really want to edit this review, but as it is, I have a huge palm stump that still needs to be removed and no landscaping estimate for turf. read more

I had such a hard time finding a legitimate landscaping company. I contacted several of the top-rated yelp landscapers and it was a nightmare. The companies either no-call no-showed, came out then never got back to me with a quote, or the representative was questionable. Finally, I called Mauri Landscapes and they were wonderful. The receptionist is so friendly and responsive. She always calls the day before an appointment with a reminder. She forwards my messages to the owner so I'm never ignored. The owner himself (Chris) came out for the landscaping consult. We talked in-depth about what I wanted and did not want. A few days later, I went out to their landscaped property to walk around and look at different options for my yard. Chris spent about half an hour with me making suggestions and explaining the life-cycles of different trees and plants that I was interested in (he's a very nice, knowledgable guy). His quote was extremely reasonable, and the landscaping was done quickly. It looks beautiful! After the install, Chris walked me through the sprinkler system process step-by-step. He also provided me a packet that included all my plants, their location in the yard, and how to take care of them. The plants are warrantied, so I don't have to worry about cost if they don't survive the initial planting. I had such a positive experience with Mauri Landscapes that I just scheduled another consult for artificial lawn in the backyard. I am happy to recommend them! read more

Looking for Landscapers in Las Vegas is not an easy task. I asked many folks who they used and most people said, "Mauri Landscapes." I called and made an appointment and Chris (the Owner) came out and we walked through the yard and came up with a plan which involved adding trees, plants and redoing the lighting in the yard to better accentuate the trees and landscaping that already existed. Their workers were very good and very communicative. I was thrilled at the finished product and would definitely hire them again, which I am planning to do today since I'm writing this review! :) What was extra special about these folks was their ability to listen and help plan the landscaping plan. Like others have said, Chris is very knowledgeable about all of the native plants and provides a tour of his home's gardens to see the plants that each client decides to use. He also has a tree service company that is run by Mike, an arborist by trade. He did a fantastic job in our yard as well. read more

I moved into a home with a completely dead front lawn, so part of my welcome package included a friendly note from my HOA to get back in compliance. And stat. After speaking with a few landscaping companies, we went with Mauri because we liked that they were a family business, and because they seemed to have good reviews. So we booked our landscaping appointment for their first possible opening, about 3 weeks out. So how did it turn out? I'm really glad we chose Mauri, and I'd definitely go with them again. While they might not execute perfectly the first time, what IS fantastic is that they are willing to make things right. Day of the landscaping, a crew of 5-6 came in and got to work. Everyone seemed nice and friendly, and work proceeded. There were a few hiccups -- the wrong plant got taken out and a few trees weren't planted evenly, but they fixed most things we noticed. That said, things felt a bit rushed and we weren't 100% sure about what we ended up with. "At least I don't have the ugliest lawn on the street," I thought, and left it at that. Then the one month followup came up and Chris came back to chat with us. At first we weren't going to say anything because things mostly seemed to work, but we decided since we weren't 100% happy that we WOULD tell him. And it was then that I really felt good about our decision to go with Mauri. I was impressed that Chris listened to our concerns, and didn't make any excuses at all. Instead we went through everything that could be improved, and he scheduled someone to come back out that same week to fix everything. Our bushes were replanted so they would be straight, and an ailing plant got replaced with a healthier version. The leaking hoses were fixed, and they even let us add a few extra plants at no extra labour cost. We also took this opportunity to add a contrasting rock to fill out our yard. So now instead of just being relieved not to have a dead lawn, I feel a little happier ever time I walk by our front yard. Then I called to ask why they didn't show up and they told me that they had talked to my wife and they had not. Then they stated that they couldn't make it the next day they would have to postpone for another three days before they could get here.
