I meant to write this review last year, so let me start with an apology to the owner for not following through as I promised. Southwest Lawnscape did a great job cleaning up and pruning our front yard last year. The crew was professional, arrived when they said they would, and completed the work efficiently. The owner checked in with me in real time to make sure everything had been done to my standards. The pruning looked excellent, but I noticed a few stubborn leaves had not been fully blown out. After I mentioned it, the owner immediately sent the crew back, and they thoroughly cleaned out the remaining leaves. They collected all the debris, hauled everything away, and left the yard looking great. The price was also very fair. I will absolutely use Southwest Lawnscape again. read more

I asked this company to trim my backyard a month ago. The owner was quick to respond on yelp. Scheduling same day appointment wasn't a problem and was convenient. I give the service 5 stars. The only reason I gave a 4 overall is the communication. I was told on yelp I was going to be informed when someone will be at my house. The employees showed up an hour early but didn't ring the doorbell and went straight to thr backyard. I didn't know they were with southwest landscape until I asked. Brayon and Chris have done an amazing job over the past week and our family is very pleased with our beautiful backyard. We signed with another contractor and started with a very basic design with a flower bed, retaining wall, and artificial grass, but the HOA refused to allow the flower beds on the retaining wall, so instead of getting approval we decided to remove the wall and grass and fill in everything with paver, but it would have cost twice as much. This was seriously over budget and we were on the fence. That's when Brayon and Chris came to us and offered us a great deal, and we ended up with a great piece that was within our budget. Our backyard faces north, so artificial grass would have been a good option, but we had small children who like to play in the water, so it could have been a bit of a space issue. We laid all the paver, and the kids could use their bikes and other sports. We chose the paver by visiting the supply store and checking out the actual products and colors. I needed a tree replaced and had a guy lined up for the job. At the last minute, he cancelled on me due to personal issues with his home. Well, my HOA was on my case to get this done so when I reached out to local pros on yelp, Southwest Lawnscape was one of the first available and had good communication. The price quoted was very reasonable and I am glad I chose them as they did a fantastic job of replacing the tree, sending me pictures of the project before and after along with an invoice. Seemingly good but ultimately unreliable. The bid process was quick and professional and I really thought these guys were great.....until the plants kept dying and not thriving. They were good about replacing dying plants at first but then stopped responding. When I finally got my handyman to look at what was going on he was horrified at the way they had out the sprinkler system together. They did some shortcut that didn't allow plants to get the full water because one line was watering for all of the different sections. After dozens of phone calls texts and missed appointments my handyman finally just did the repair himself ( they said if I let him do it they wouldn't stand by the work). In 2 hours he fixed it and now the plants are thriving. Additionally they would skip weeks of gardening without informing me because as a vacation house they thought we wouldn't notice. Terribly unprofessional. But I kept giving them second chances because when they did respond they seemed so nice and professional. Save your money and your plants and go somewhere else. read more

I connected with Chris nearly a year ago and the project I planned was rendered for us free of charge but we ended up not going through with it because we weren't ready to make the jump. Waste of our time...they responded to our inquiry really fast and we were looking forward to working with them to do our backyard at our new house. Showed up to our house about 15 minutes late, but we were excited so we didn't mind. We explained what we were looking for with turf, pavers, a dog run, and a retaining wall planter and Chris said things like oh yeah we can definitely make that happen and even made suggestions to the design that we really liked and wanted to implement. He started measuring the yard as well. He gave me his cell phone number and told me that he'd send a quote over in the next 2 days with a bunch of different material options. A week went by so I texted again asking when we could expect the quote since we were hoping to get the project started and he just ghosted us and didn't respond to a call. My backyard was completely empty because it was a new build. I received about 12 quotes and met with all of them as well. Southwest gave me an amazing deal and made me feel like I was in good hands. All of the products they presented to me were high quality and looked great. I didn't want anything too complicated, just somewhere I could grill and my kids and dog could run around. They were able to bring my vision to life and made sure I was updated with every step. They beat their quoted completion date 3 days early and I was blown away by the result. Unfortunately I am one of the people who have been ghosted by southwest landscaping. Chris came out in 6/20 to take measurements and go over what we wanted then said he would be in touch in a week with the quote. No response after a week so I followed up the next day. He apologized and said he fell behind and would send us the quote the next day. We called and texted him a couple more times but it's now been a month since our initial meeting and still nothing. Very disappointed with my experience here. They are quick to respond to inquiries on Yelp but after that, communication is non existent. I have a new build and was looking to go the whole 9 yards with these guys- artificial turf, pergola, plants, stones, and misters for my back yard. Set an appointment for Saturday at 11AM. We get a call from Chris asking if we could push it back 30 minutes, ok no worries I get things happen. We get there and we wait over another 40 minutes for him to get there which was after 12. We get to the house and we give him a general idea of what we're looking to have done. He takes some measurements and says he'll have a quote ready with the options they offer. He says Monday is when we'll get the quote. It's been almost a week since our appointment and there has been no form of communication to us. I'd be ok with a simple text saying theyre behind on quotes, if you could give us a few extra days, but not even that. My irrigation valve was entirely broken, and the whole system needed to be replaced. I posted a request for estimates, and Southwest Landscaping was the first to respond (within minutes), and also came in with the lowest quote. From there, Chris was super responsive and arranged to come out and fix the issue just two days later. When he came he texted to let me know he'd arrived, but he started working on the issue before I'd even responded or come out to meet him, which I appreciated (because I was in a meeting). Chris took the job for my backyard in June 2022 , a estimated time of a two week job ended being a 6 month issue of coming and going. Last response and visit was in December 2022. Chris never responded to my text messages until today February 19th 2023 after I sent pictures of the waterfall he built with rusted parts . Im in the process now paying another company to fix it . And finish the rest of the backyard. He's response wasn't im sorry I didn't finish and about what he did. But instead tried to tell me he inform me of the steal problem he encountered , in which he didn't. Plus he covered all the plumbing to the pool and i had to pay the other other landscaping company to remove the landscaping around the pool equipment and add boxes around them. I reached out to them multiple times with a portion of my yard torn up only to be told there was an emergency, Chris had to leave town and would not be finishing the job. The communication could be improved since there was time when I have no update for days. However, it is understandable since Chris is very busy. Once they start, it took a week to finish the project.
