One of our favorite spots in the metro. The food is always great and the service and ambiance are excellent!

Mavericks is a great neighborhood hangout. Not only do they have great happy hour deals but their staff is always friendly and courteous;plus the patio is fabulous in the summer! We have been there a number of times and enjoyed almost everything we've ordered from the wings to quesadillas to burgers. That being said the one item we weren't fans of was the meatball hoagie... but come on, not everyone can be perfect! read more

if there were 10 stars is give them 10! this place is awesome... from the food to the servers and atmosphere you cannot go wrong. love sitting out on the back patio or at the bar. ryan and Ben are amazing servers/bartenders and really take the time to get to know you, whether it's your first time or you're considered a regular, they treat you like family. never had a bad food or drink experience; try ordering the chefs revenge! you have no idea what you're getting, no requests either, but it's always been yummy :) read more

Been here a couple times for drinks but finally decided to check out the food. Thursdays they have a beer and burger special so I went with that, opting for the Sweet and Spicy Whiskey Burger. Ordered medium, it came out perfect with a nice char from the wood fire grill. Topped with caramelized onions, aged cheddar and the sweet and spicy whiskey sauce. Great balance of flavor but I didn't get any spiciness from it. Will be back to try more options. read more

We have not been to Maverick's in a couple of years. We have avoided it because the service is SO SLOW. We gave it another try for the burger/beer special Thursday night. Waited 35 minutes for a burger. The bartender was great, drinks came up quickly. It seems there is a loyal clientele. But don't go hungry, you will wait a long time for food. read more

My wife and myself picked this restaurant for a party just a week ago. the food was great but the service was less then average. We had to ask to have empty plates a glasses removed from our table? We had to ask to get more drinks? Our server never came back to our table to ask if our food was correct? My bill was over $200.00 we left thinking we missed something. I will go back but never with a large party. read more

I'd give this place 0 stars if I could. If you are black, don't bother. Everyone in there stared at my family(parents and girlfriend) as if we were from another planet. One of the hostesses verbalized to the other that she didn't want to seat us before hesitantly doing so, then as opposed to walking them in like she should have, the other proceeded to tell my parents to find us themselves, pointing them to the opposite side of restaurant (specifically the bar). Keep in mind that she had clearly just seated us in the dining room and KNEW where we were and that the rest out our party should be arriving shortly. The hostesses were probably about 16 or 17, which reinforces the fact that racism is learned. Not to mention- the place was infested with flies and they under-cooked my girlfriend's chicken patty, which our server removed from her plate with his hand rather than taking the entire order back before bringing out something new. okay okay okay, so if you're in cute little champlin and want a cute little dinner with cute little people and cute little wood planked walls with cute little drinks I recommend this place. Yum yum on the wings, drinks and normal bar fare...so I say, I say, you gonna make me whistle a whopper out of my get-in-my-face drinks and foods mouth hole??? Ya get 2.5 stars on the eats...standard with a touch of class. Had the advertised as gourmet meatloaf..meh..dry. Sure, you can hit me with "well, meatloaf is technically a loaf of meat...so quitcha bellyachin' and make it at home if you're such a dandy" That said, this meatloaf was implied as one to make cows go screamin' for der mudder's udders. I see a quality meatloaf as not needing gravy or tomato corn-syrup to cover up da nasty...but alas..I reached for that heinz in desperation as my mouth was all like "get some damb moisture up in here or I'm gonna move to the sudan where it rains at LEAST once a year". Next stop...pasta. Yes YES THERE IT IS!! Good frickn' noodles with a spicy kicker of a sauce that was not just a gob of sriracha, but rather, a type of love-heat that would make a 50's housewife go to confession. Now pasta sauce isn't supposed to be their All in all, for the price, it's puppies and bunnies. Service = Good. Good good good. Bumps the score up to a solid 3. Almost wanted to tell them to back off on the friendliness...but they must like their job and owners. Only detractor, the regs...THE REGS!!! Staff has all sorts of buds stoppin in to chat..and don't get me wrong, adds to the charm but can be a distraction. Grab a table, if you ain't a reg. If you sit at the bar they will stare at you as if you just walked into their house and grabbed a beer out of their fridge. Food may not be as quick as you are used too..but I'm sick and tired of people creaming hitler because their food isn't in front of their impatient faces in less than 20 min. You're out to have a good time for pete's sake, order another beverage and get the sand out. Thats all, that's it. Try it...I can't give a score of 4 or greater because the attractive owner would have to spend more/charge more. Keep it simple, keep it neighborhood. read more

Wow the brunch here sucks. It's all premade stuff that they bought at a grocery store and heated up. Not to mention they can't even seem to figure out how to toast an English muffin or crack an egg as they were using powdered eggs. From scratch cooking? Sure if your definition of from scratch is someone in a factory doing it from scratch. On top of that it made both my boyfriend and I sick for two full days. Not sure why everyone thinks this place is so great..... Except perhaps in comparison to a poorly managed fast food joint. Ugh. Couldn't pay me to go back. Icky!!! Wish I had stayed home and made my own eggs and bacon then at least they bacon would have been cooked through and the hollandaise real. read more

If you are looking for a friendly neighborhood bar to grab a drink and some food, save your money! The customer should always be treated with respect and kindness, but that is certainley not what we recieved. Shortly after we arrived the young waitstaff and their friends showed up only to be taking shots behind the bar while our order continued to be ignored. We waited an entire 45 minutes for our order to be taken while they hung out and served themselves, rather than interacting with the guests at the bar which is essential in a buisness such as bartending and a local joint. While we waited for our food to arrive we watched the cook come out and take a shot behing the bar while he let the remains roll down his chin and shirt and grab a couple bites from a friends plate, only to return to the kitchen to cook our food. It was quite unsettling and something I have never experienced. We left without a thank you for our business and overall felt very disrespected. The staff really seemed to work hard to create an unfriendly environment that pushed people out rather than drew people in. Usually I am all for supporting local businesses, but under these circumstances I felt it necessary to warn anyone I can. Save your money! read more

Where do I begin. We got to the restaurant at a very busy time and were told we had a half an hour wait. No problem or so we thought. My husband goes to the host stand to see about how much longer when the 30 minutes had past, since we had two hungry toddlers with us, and he was told that it'll be 30 minutes. Here we thought that's what the wait was initially. The host then comes to tell my husband that they are checking to see how much longer it really will be and says he'll be right back. We don't see him again until we are sitting at our table 25-30 minutes later. We finally are seated about 45-50 minutes after we arrive and are given no apology for the long wait. Okay, we can deal with that as long as the kids get their food asap. I see a server look at us twice and then proceed to help tables that already have food, all the while making no attempt to help us. She finally comes to the table 10 minutes later. Kids food is ordered, we order apps and all seems good. We order our meals, which took a bit to come, and my order is wrong. My salad came without the chicken I ordered and She says that she'll get that. Once again no apology. As everyone eats, I finally start to eat my salad since it had been at least 15 minutes since the food had come. I believe that she brought the chicken about 20 minutes later. I no longer wanted it and had her take it back. She offered a mini dessert for the trouble. A good restaurant would eat their error and comp my salad. You can't say that the staff isn't nice, but they do not understand the service industry. Apologies are infrequent and no ownership of their errors. Saying I'm sorry goes a long way. The only one who seems competent enough to work there is the bartender. I'm sorry, but due to service, I am not able to recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more
