I brought my vehicle in for an exhaust leak. I feel overcharged and the work was poorly performed. They determined that the resonator at the center of the vehicle needed to be replaced. They replaced the oval resonator with a cheap round one that doesn't fit properly and rubs on the heat shield under the gas tank. Also, where the new resonator attaches to the pipe in the front and rear, they attempted to weld the connections. They could not make a good weld so they applied an exhaust cement that is now falling off and exhaust is leaking. Their work cannot be trusted. Photos are attached. read more

I brought my car in a month ago to have my winter tires swapped with my summer tires. I noted this in the online appointment and when one of the staff called to confirm. They rotated my winter tires instead. People make mistakes, so when I finally had some time, I brought the car back. I agreed to come back and get the car when they called. The guy who waited on me said they were busy, even though there was only one car in the garage. I assumed it would be a few hours, so I took a walk and went grocery shopping. Two hours later my car was still sitting untouched in the parking lot. The garage was empty. Two staff members were out back admiring someone's sports car, and the third was sitting on his phone inside. I asked for my fob, and they initially couldn't find it. The woman on shift got a little snarky, and insisted I didn't give it to them. A few minutes later they found it and I left. It appears that they forgot about me this time. That was my last time at Mavis. My experience has been nothing but a frustrating waste of time. I expect I'll get the same copy/paste response everyone below has gotten asking me to call. If I could give zero stars I would...listen to this experience...truly unbelievable...but 100% true. I want to share our experience at Mavis Discount Tire so others are aware. My husband brought our car in for two front tires. We paid $330 and received a receipt claiming the tires had been replaced. This is what took place:: * Employee took our car for over an hour without permission. The manager at the shop had no idea where our vehicle was and he called the police assuming it had been stolen. This is after he said our car was "all set" and my husband paid for the work. * the employee returned to the shop with our car (about the same time the police arrived), saying he had taken it for a test drive. This is completely BS because he was gone for more than an hour and racked up ~30 miles on the odometer. - the employee also smoked in the vehicle which left an odor of smoke and ashes on the dashboard. (We are not smokers and our vehicle has never been smoked in). - when my husband got home with our vehicle and parked it, he realized that the tires on the car were still our old tires. They never even c did the work we paid for!! * And...the icing on the cake...the Receipt my husband got after paying for the work that was never done, listed our odometer reading as 28,000 miles, while the car actually has 57,000+ miles! So...if we had actually gotten the new tires, the tire warranty of 65,000 miles would look to have 30,000 miles already on it when we left the parking lot! We seriously could not have made up an experience as bad as this! We ultimately received a full refund for what we paid but we highly advise against going to this establishment or any Mavis in the area as the REGIONAL manager did not seem to take this matter seriously. In fact, he told us the employee that took our vehicle for a 30 mile joyride was "reprimanded " but not fired. read more

For reference I paid for the entire package online which includes installation costing an extra 200$ on top of the cost of the tires, I first showed up to the store after making the appointment online, the tires ended up not fitting so I took my truck back and bought the parts that should have been supplied at the store and came back the following Monday, they claimed I didn't pay to have the tires installed and refused to put the wheels on the truck, after calling the support line they repeated that I would have to pay extra again. First they Installed the wrong tires on my car. Second, they over tightened my wheel cap and cracked it. I showed them and told me to order the part, come back another time and they will fix it. I showed up on time and was told "the tires you ordered aren't in yet but we do have a tire that's 20 dollars more" I told him I would just come back once they arrived and He said "oh wait, I see them all of a sudden in the system." I wish I could give a 0 to this shop. Been going to Mavis for years and it's always a hassle , especially with the time it takes to get stuff done. I have no idea why they even make appointments , because they have never started on time or finished in a reasonable amount of time. I needed two tires replaced and ordered them with Kat. Took a picture of my tire and gave her the exact info from the picture. Went to get them installed on 11/4 for a 9am appointment. At 1:45pm they were finally putting them on. Went into the bay and noticed they were the wrong tires. They were road tires and I ordered the trail tires. One of the mechanics said " I knew these were the wrong tires , I told them that" But they still installed them with out double checking with me. So another hour later I had my old tires back on and nothing was accomplished after being there 5.5 hours. On my only day off no less. Was told I couldn't make an appointment for the following Saturday because that was too far out. Call mid week I was told. I did just that and made another appointment for 11/11 for 11am. Got to the shop and they say they don't see an appointment for me. WTF. Asked if they could still get me in and they said yes , if you leave it. Left it there and didn't hear anything until I called them at 4:45pm. Was told they were just pulling my truck in at that time and it would be about 1/2 hour. Went there and didn't roll out until 5:20pm. So around 12 hours to get 2 tires changed. Unbelievable. And for all my wasted time some manager gave me $42 off for both tires and a free rotation. Said they would give me the tires for cost. They think I'm stupid enough to believe they only make $21 per tire?? Only good thing I can say is the people in the store were nice. Service provide was OK but an oil change and tire rotation I was quoted 45 mins. So I opted to wait in the store. Ended up being 2 1/2 hours. That was with an appointment ( phone call was quoted 45 mins turnaround time as well) Oil change was $46 AFTER a $10 discount from website. Tire rotation free since tires were bought there. There's quite a few low-cost oil change places for less than $46 and less than 2 1/2 hours. read more

I purchased 4 new tires and when I got my truck back the tire sensor light has been on. when I bring it to the store they say the can't find the problem. I have called several times and the regional manager from the Syracuse /Rochester area has been very passive aggressive with me and tells me basically it's not there problem and take it to the dealer at $150 an hour to prove it's there fault. the tires where purchased 2 hours from my home and and the local stores will not get involved any further bc they can't resolve the issue. one store didn't look at my truck said I need sensors it's $300. I have second several hours trying to resolve this and my times valuable too and no one cares. this is the worst experience I have ever had with a company. The district manager has hung up on me and refuses to resolve this issues and when I was in the area unexpectedly he said I did not follow his directions to let him know I was in the area. He had hung up on me how reached out to someone how treats u like that. He was still unable to resolve the issues bc they don't have the right tools and are speculating it's someone they can't fix I have contact customer service several times. I'm told to speak with the regional manager and I was told he gave me my only option which was to pay some one to prove it's his fault . The regional manager will not work with me or even reach out at this point. I have asked for his boss and been told that was what his boss told him to do. After shopping around, I purchased for new tires from this location and received a fair deal. After quoting me an estimate of two hours for the work at my appointment, they finished earlier than expected in about an hour and a half. Unfortunately, five days after the install, one of the tires ended up being completely flat. After installing a donut tire and driving back to this location, they could not determine why the brand new tire was flat. Shitty service. Guy who checked me out was an asshole and seemed like he had no idea what he was doing. After 2 hours for an OIL CHANGE which was $70+ he said the brakes squeaking were a tire alignment issue and not that big of a deal. Took my car to a REAL mechanic two days later and found out the entire brake system was falling apart. If I didn't question his diagnostic of my brakes probably would have ended up dead on the road killing me and my girlfriend. Apparently even if you call the direct line you get a call center. Booked my appointment for an inspection and made it clear,twice, that it was for an inspection. Arrived a few minutes early as I'm punctual and I informed that there inspection guy is off and won't return until Monday. This may not sound like a big deal but between preparing a 46 year old car for inspection which takes a good deal of time, then travel time it's a process. I scheduled an appointment for four new tires and a state inspection. When I arrived, I was not only told that they don't do inspections at that location, but they also didn't have my tires. I asked them to get me an appointment at another location before Friday, as that was my deadline for inspection, and was told they we're booked solid and couldn't do anything. I then called the main customer service line and was told they were getting a manager, and then was hung up on. Stopped in with my 7 month old this weekend. I've had a slow leaking tire for over a month and I've been avoiding getting it checked. They had me in and out in under 10 minutes, patched my tire, and did not try to sell me any of their tires. I appreciated how efficient and understanding they were! They are absolutely pathetic. Went in for their $79 take special, and ended up with a $475 bill. They broke some parts and never fixed them. Many calls to the main office got nothing. Managers just as pathetic as workers. Ended up going to a real mechanic to have the job done right. They said the parts Mavis used were junk. I would give this was than 1 star if it would allow me. I made an appointment a week in advance for snow tires. When I arrived yet told me me tires had not arrived there yet and would be on the delivery that day around 1-2pm. I could leave my car but not use waiting room. Appointment was made for the next day. When I arrived they told me the tires had not arrived and they didn't know when they would come. Would I like to make another appointment. I had already rearranged my schedule 2x for service. No call, email or text to let me know that my tires had not arrived for either appointment. No body working seemed to car that tires had not arrived they just shrugged shoulder as said that's how it goes sometimes. I cancelled my order and went to a different shop for tires and got served no problems. The head person, not sure if he is a Manager, was requested to replace just two tires on my car. The tire had 20,000 miles on them. One of the tires had a rip on the beed. The last tire shop I want to rip it. They told me and I said it was ok, if it was once in a while that I needed to put air in the tire. It leaked slowly and I want to just replace the tire, after one day it would drop below the tire pressure monitor. Sound ok right. I also asked to rotate the tires and place the new tires on the front. He said, we can replace the one tire and I wanted the other tire that was good, as a spare. No problem. They proceed to do the tires for me. In the process I see my new rim being smeared with black sealant. I said to the person at the desk, "what is he doing". I never asked for sealant on the rims. The person said we do that to all the tires. The next tire that was removed and replaced did not get any sealant on the rim. I said, "where is on your service signs that you do this". He did not say. He then started to argue with me, that all rims need this so it does not leak. I asked him why is it that the manufacturer does not use sealant then. It was a new rim. Still had the stick on it. Shinny and new. I asked him how was the sealent to come off. He said,"We grid it off!" This kid id an idiot. He turn new rim, not marks no issue, turn into a sloppy mess of black on the rim and tire that will need to be ground off. DO NOT GO HERE THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE HELL THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT.
