Is there a six star option for Yelp?? If there were this place would get it! My wife's car broke down while in town. Many years ago I had an honest garage near here. We limped her car to this garage. She texted them to let them know her car would be there Monday morning when the garage opened. Her messages were returned Sunday while they were closed. The owner went in early Monday morning to look at her car. He diagnosed her problems and gave her all the information she needed to make an informed decision. She determined that it was not worth fixing. Who does that and does not try to take an out of town customer for a ride? I attended RIT and have friends in Rochester. I will refer my friends to this location. They could not have been more professional and nicer to complete strangers. She even hired him to then take out the backup camera and radio. He charged a more than fair price to do so. He also allowed us to leave the vehicle in property until the company we were donating it to came to pick it up. They are definitely the best priced place for students. I feel like the quality of the service is just ok however. Since I've moved away from the colleges I've found a new mechanic. The repairs they have done for me and my husband were a lifesaver at the price that they charged. The repairs needed reworking a few years later at that point we had graduated and returned to Morris for the repairs. A few weeks later more issues turned up. These guys are great for a pinch but not the best for long term repairs. read more

These folks are great. I took a car in there that had some scratches and digs on the rear bumper. They gave me a quote and did just exactly what was needed. Other collision shops I got quotes from wanted to take the whole back half of the car apart on one side and replace the side windows too. These other collision shops wanted to charge me several times what Morris Auto did the essential needed work for. The people at Morris auto knew what really needed to be done. Their quality of their work is excellent, and they got the car done in a very timely manner just as they promised. Their pricing is very fair. My car has a unique paint color and they were able to match the paint perfectly. I highly recommend them if you need collision work. read more

I am surprised that no one has reviewed this place still, so let me take the honor of being the first one! For those that are unfamiliar with Morris Auto, you are definitely paying more than you have to for your car repairs. My experience with Morris Auto has been consistently good and ever since I discovered this place, I haven't bothered looking again for another mechanic to rely on. The reason why this is the top place to go to for fixing your ride cannot be shortlisted to just one or two aspects. In fact, you might even find it hard to pinpoint any one particular attribute as such that uniquely defines this place! Let me begin with customer service - If you folks are like me, you don't really know anything more about your vehicle besides getting in it and putting it to "D". Being completely unaware about my vehicle might be a disadvantage when dealing with other mechanics, but not at Morris. Here, you will be made to understand exactly what your car requires, what falls under critical need, and what can be postponed to a later date. Both, Jim and Jessie, do a great job in explaining the problems that need to be fixed and providing a ballpark estimate of what you might be paying to get the job done. Beyond that, you are also dropped off to your destination after you hand over your keys for no extra charge, and I hear that you can even request to be picked up once the job is done. Almost all the time, the estimates are pretty accurate, and usually 10% or more lesser than the actual bill (it is never more!). Besides being courteous, the job is top notch and your car will feel absolutely amazing. Students get a ton of discounts including a $10 NYS inspection and $20 oil change (as of writing this review). Needless to say, I have been constantly recommending this place to those looking for a good mechanic. Everyone from my girl friend and roommates to a distant acquaintance go to Morris for getting their car fixed or serviced. Once I leave Rochester following my graduation, I really hope to find another car mechanic as good as this one. I found this place because of Yelp! when my car started overheating while I was out of state. I was (understandably) nervous about finding a place without a recommendation, but was absolutely THRILLED with the work, the price, and the friendliness of the mechanics of Morris Auto. I would highly recommend Morris Auto to anyone looking for a mechanic in Rochester. I called ahead to say that my car was acting as if it had air bubbles in the radiator (which has happened before), and he quoted me an hour of labor ($75) to bleed the radiator. By the time we left, Jesse and his crew had fixed the problem AND replaced my burned-out headlight for $41. He even gave me advice about a problem he noticed that wasn't an issue yet, but might be down the line. Professional service, fast work, honest opinions, and overall, the best mechanic you could hope to see. I wish I could give this place more stars! read more

Most honest auto repair shop I have ever experienced. Brought our car to the dealership for the front driver seat not moving up. Within 15 minutes the dealerships that it needed a new motor and it was $1000. Took it to Morris based on a friends recommendation, I'm glad I did. Jesse was very honest and upfront with the cost and diagnosing and when it was all said and done all the seat needed was a switch. Jessie was amazing- super quick in and out time but, best of all for me (as a financially burdened student) he has a connection with a local scrap car place that can sometimes find old car parts to replace a broken part for a fraction of the cost of a new piece! Less is more so I'll be brief. If you want excellent work at fair price you'll stop wasting time and money and money and head to Morris. Good people, clean shop, won't waste your time by getting your vehicle in and out. Pulled up one day to get a scan and Jesse came out scanned popped out the coils to switch them up and see what code was thrown again the next day, all without charging me a nickel. I know this will read like "back in my day sonny" but Morris is what service used to be back when I was a kid. How do you help, versus how do you make a quick buck. I've had issues with mechanics in Rochester in the past, so I went to Morris to have a brake issue checked out because of their high Yelp rating. Unfortunately, my experience was not so positive. I dropped my car off on a Friday to have it checked out the following Wednesday or Thursday. It was not until a week after that scheduled appointment that they actually got the car into the garage. All along the way, they never called me to update me or let me know what they had found -- I had to call them every time, including on the day the work was actually completed. They replaced a brake caliper and told me that was the source of my problem. The primary symptom (brake pedal stiffening and brakes becoming partially engaged after about 3 minutes of driving), however, was completely unchanged. The service at Morris was friendly and fairly-priced enough, but I unfortunately could not recommend this garage because 1) they overbooked themselves and were a week late looking at my car, 2) they didn't do a great job of keeping me in the loop, and 3) the repairs they did (totaling $150) did not resolve my braking issue, or really improve the performance of the car at all. read more

I decided to take my car to Morris Auto Repair based of it's Yelp reviews. I literally didn't see one bad review and assumed that meant it was a well run business. They were nice enough to get me in that week and told me that they would take a look at all of my issues, diagnose, and quote them for me. I had NO intentions of taking the work to anyone else. What they said they would do and what I hoped they would do was replace my outer tie rods, then give me a quote on the rest of the work. I don't have too much money so I was going to have to bring it back for the rest of the work. All in all, what I needed done was substantial. I needed new outer tie rods, my oil was leaking from one place, my transmission fluid was leaking from two places, and my alternator wasn't working correctly because the belt was coated in oil from the oil leak. They could have gotten a lot of work from my car. I took it in on the day they asked me to and left it there. I was told that they were going to take a look at it right away and give me a call (I left it at 9am). I was expecting a call at like 12pm at the latest for them to ask me if I wanted them to proceed with the work once they diagnosed everything. I actually didn't get a call until 3:30. It wasn't too big of a deal, though. When I went in to pick it up, they had not replaced my tie rods but instead wrote down what all of the problems were and told them to me. He said that he couldn't give me a quote on the other work because he would have to make some calls to check pricing and all that (understandable). Since this was a Friday, he said he could call me on Monday and give me an idea of the pricing to fix each thing. He LITERALLY never called me back. I don't think that their in-shop behavior was anything bad, but I found it very unprofessional to just not ever call back a customer. I'll take it elsewhere. I strongly believe that customer service often reflects quality of work and I won't be risking it here. Overall, not too bad of an experience but a very unprofessional outcome. read more

Low prices, great work, honesty, and a student discount-awesome! After calling around for prices on changing a timing belt, I found that Morris Auto Repair was the cheapest place in town. They were able to take care of my car in just one day, did great work, and actually helped me avoid unnecessary repairs. After getting ripped off at Action Towing just a few days prior, I greatly appreciated their honesty, low prices, and good work. Had a broken driver side mirror that needed repair. Asked for a quote online. Jesse M. got back to me,promptly. with the price for a new mirror. Stopped in to see him to confirm the order for the mirror ($48) and asked what labor would cost. He said that it only takes 5 minutes to install so forget about labor costs. I told him to add $20 to the bill. It was worth it for this kind of customer service! Looks like I found a new auto repair shop. I highly recommend this shop for reasonably priced, prompt, and professional service. read more
